Day 3,970: Looking For Treats
Glorious in LA today. Cool. Got warm, but not too warm. I was able to keep the door to my office almost all day.
Restless, though. Not in the groove. Feeling disjointed. I mean I got all my stuff done, which is great, but I don’t feel great. I feel…like my feet aren’t really on the ground. Like I’m floating. Day 3,969: Deb Eight
It is FINALLY cooler here in LA after a literal week of near-110 degree heat. That is very, very uncommon for LA, and I’ve lived here for more than twenty years. Whew, it was hot as balls there forever. But, the forecast ahead is for something more reasonable. I’m here for.

Day 3,968: Darby
Busy day during the day today, but in the evening, it was nice to be home. I watched the Niners beat the Jets on Monday Night Football. And then I got to watch a bit of the Wrexham win on Saturday. I know we were supposed to beat Shrewsbury, but it was still nice to see us have the game so handily in control.
Joy is making herself a bed right now. It’s very cute. It’s sooooooooo nice to be reunited with the pups. They couldn’t go on our little trip, but they had a great time with Auntie Thida...
Day 9,968: Darby

A wonderful weekend. I am WIPED.
We did a wine tasting today, and it was a GREAT success because we ended up walking out with six wines, lol. They were all great, though. Very fresh, which is what Liz really loves. I had a killer freaking pinot from Sta Rita Hills, it was so delicious I can still taste it. I probably should have bought a bottle of it, too, but whatevs. I didn’t. Lots of delicious pinots out there.
It’s a bolder style I like, I realize. The lighter stuff tends to be a littl...

Day 9,966: Beanz n Chez
Got to spend the whole day with my wife today. We drove up to wine country and tasted some delicious wines, we ate some delicious food, we swam in a fabulous pool, and now we’re prepping for a fabulous snooze. Happy Ten Years.
We’ve needed a trip like this. Been a while. Over a year, I think. So, this trip is a welcome treat. Can’t tell you how good it feels to have the book done, going on this trip. I still have work to do, for sure, but the manuscript is written. Earliest I’ve ever finished...

It’s our ten year wedding anniversary today. Ten years ago, right around right now, we’d just gotten married and were parting it up in Maui. One of the happiest days of my life, truly. A banner day.
Today was, too! I finished my fifth novel today. Or, drafting it, at least. Needs some work from my cowriter, then a couple scene fixes from me after that…and then it’s done. Off to the editor, at least. Out later this year. And I get started on planning out the next one right after that.
