Rethinking Marketing Strategy: An Authentic Approach to Ads
Ads cannot save a business. It only expands what's already working. There’s a deep misunderstanding of what paying for Ads is about, for an authentic business. It begins with the common idea that marketing is about trying to convert visitors as soon as possible into buyers. The more successful your marketing, the quicker a stranger becomes a buyer, right? This is the core flaw that I see so many marketers doing.

Light Marketing
I’m going to introduce a phrase that I’ll begin using occasionally – “light marketing” or "lightside marketing" – to represent the kind of marketing I aim to practice.
What might come to mind by the word “light” is that it’s ineffective. That’s not what I mean by it, of course. In fact, Light Marketing is more likely to be sustainable for a solopreneur. The consistency of showing up – lightly! – then brings greater effectiveness over time, and a grounded Self-confidence, compared to doing hea...

The most urgent concern re: Ai development (and what to do about it)
The biggest concern re: Ai Development (and what to do about it)I do have concerns about Ai. My biggest fear is not that it'll destroy the world, or democracy. My concern is how incredibly distracting it will be. What are you doing to prepare for it?

I don’t think you and I need to worry about the world-destruction potential of Ai.
Why?
Because those of us reading this (who don't work in the Ai field or i...

Content Sabbaticals: An Essential Tool for Resilient Creators
Content Sabbaticals: An Essential Tool for Resilient Creators
I've noticed that many people struggle with maintaining a consistent rhythm in their content creation. They create in sporadic bursts, and find it difficult to regain momentum each time they return to creating. Of course, it’s important to take breaks from creating… but ideally, we would do it in a planned way. This allows us to prepare to really rest. And then, to consciously return to regenerating a momentum of creating. With...

The Three Paths of Solopreneurship: Wait to Respond – Funnel Hustle – and The Middle Way of Authentic Business
Wait to respond, Funnel hustle, and the Middle Way of Authentic Business
In my 13 years of business, I’ve noticed 3 ways to approach solopreneurship:
Wait to Respond
The way that most service providers do it is to just wait for random word-of-mouth. You might get a few clients a year, if you’re lucky. Some of them might be a great fit, and some will not be.
Why? Because starting a business is, understandably, so overwhelming as well as confronting (to one’s self-esteem) that sometim...

The Means Never Justify The Ends -- If You Care About Your Values
Your ambitions can be as grand as you want them to be. What inspires you? Dream it! Yet...
Your ambitions, no matter how big, are not wrong as long as they align with your values.
However, the more attached to your timeline, the more you're in danger of "means to an end" thinking, which is the beginning of wrongdoing:
"The goal is what matters."
"I'll do whatever it takes to get there."
"The outcome is more important than the journey."
"As long as I achieve my objective, it d...
