April 11th 2021 Update

Getting the first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine wiped me out for a couple of days this week, so I only got Queen’s Gambit up to ~70,000 words. Not nearly as far as I wanted to get, but it’s how it goes. Honestly, I didn’t even realize I had any side effects at first, it was only after half a day passed by with my brain feeling like mush that I realized it was causing me issues. April 4th 2021 Update

Queen’s Gambit is up to ~62,500 words, which makes me feel pretty good, considering how I’ve felt this past week. No, I’m not sick, just… under the weather in general. I also wrote a tiny bit on Adept of Chaos, but not very much.

Even if the books aren’t as far along as I’d like, I’m still pleased that I have as much done as I do. Between both projects I have about as much as a full novel, and I have high hopes that I can get at least Queen’s Gambit out in June. Possibly sooner, but there are...

Queen’s Journey Audiobook Update

I forgot to include this in yesterday’s blog post, so instead I’m putting it up today. First and foremost, the audiobook is complete. Sarah Goer got the audio done last week, and it has entered Audible’s quality control process. Unfortunately, this process can, in my experience, take anywhere from two weeks to three months to complete. March 21st 2021 Update

First of all, I didn’t get much done this past week. My wife decided to take a vacation for the first time in a very long while, and I accompanied her for a few days. I also was fighting with writer’s block on Queen’s Gambit, but I think I got past it. My concern is that it’s only at about 40,000 words so far, and I’m not sure how long it’ll end up. March 14th 2021 Update

Queen’s Gambit is up to ~37,500 words, a bit less than what I hoped, but I slammed headfirst into writer’s block with it on Thursday. Hopefully I’ll work through it over the next day or so, but we’ll see how that goes. Writer’s block isn’t much fun, I have to say.

The release of Chosen of Chaos went pretty well, and I’m happy for the most part! There was one thing, and I think that’s that I didn’t manage expectations of the story quite right, just based on some of the reviews. Despite me being mildly concerned that the lack of an overarching plot pushing things forward, none of my early readers seemed concerned about it, but it appears to have been a point of some contention. February 28th 2021 Update

Queen’s Gambit is up to ~17,500 words, give or take, and coming along nicely. I’d be farther along, but things didn’t work out on that. I’ll go into it a little here in a minute, but I’m definitely going to have some delays this upcoming week.

February 21st 2021 Update

I’ve been getting myself out of my writing drought bit by bit, and have Queen’s Gambit up to just a little over 7500 words. Not as much as I’d like, but certainly better than nothing! There’s going to be a lot to resolve in this book, and I really want to do it right. This isn’t necessarily the end of Lilith’s journey, but it’s hopefully going to be a good spot to rest while I work on other projects.
