EMBRACING YOUR HUMANNESS

https://rebeccacampbell.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/EMBRACING+YOUR+HUMANNESS.mp3

No one is immune to life’s pleasures and pains. Earth is a planet

of polarity and sometimes being human is challenging.

The pleasures of this planet usher us into a state of pure

bliss. The excruciating pains hurtle us into a state of separation and agony.

And if we allow it, our heart is stretched and made stronger through both the

pleasure and the pain. If we somehow allow our heart to stay open through the

pain, our capacity to experience the pleasure will be even more increased. Yes,

we’re here to grow through both the pleasures and the pains. Nature shows us how

not to discriminate between birth and death, summer and winter, spring and

fall. All are necessary to what it means to be human.

Try as we will, we can’t use spirituality or our intuition to

avoid the pains of being human or to hold on to the pleasures forever. We came

here for both. To experience both. The challenge is to do all we can to keep

our heart open to both. This is what it means to truly live as a human.

SOUL INQUIRY

How do you resist your humanness?

THE ONE TRUE AUTHORITY

Rebecca Campbell_The one true authority 2

https://rebeccacampbell.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/THE+ONE+TRUE+AUTHORITY.mp3

If you put someone on a pedestal

or allow them more authority over you,

you’ll eventually need to cut them down

in order to stand at the same level.

You can avoid all of this by not giving another person or system

or external force the authority over you in the first place.

When you voice the truth, your truth,

it can be felt by all those around.

It doesn’t mean it’s THE truth or the truth

of all involved, but it’s your truth.

When you voice this truth with an open heart,

it makes it easier for someone else to access theirs.

And that clears the path for a mutual truth

to be reached, realized, and found.

Things are not only black and white. One thing or the other.

No one knows what’s true for you more than you.

The one true authority of your soul has only ever been You.

CELEBRATING PRIDE MONTH

Pride

I wanted to write something today to commemorate the events of 28th June 1969 and the lasting impact that they had.

It was on this date, in the early hours of the morning, that the Stonewall riots which played a huge part in igniting the gay liberation movement and the fight for LGBT+ rights began.

These demonstrations by members of the gay community started in response to a violent police raid at the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, New York. Customers who were gathered there, and in other local gay and lesbian bars fought back when the police became violent, and further protests occurred the following night and throughout the following week.

In the sixties in most of America, the legal-system was anti-gay and and gay people were shunned by many in society, with very few venues making them feel welcome. Gay people were regularly harrassed by police and it was common for police to raid gay establishments simply to destroy LGBTQ-friendly spaces.

The Stonewall riots drew a line in the sand; the community had had enough of being mistreated and made to feel like second-class citizens, and a movement began to create safe spaces for gay men and women, where they could be open about their sexuality without fear of recrimination.

In the months that followed, two gay activist organizations were formed in New York and three newspapers were established to promote gay rights.

A year after the uprising, on June 28, 1970, the first gay Pride marches took place across America to mark the anniversary of the riots, and within a few years, gay rights organizations had been founded all over the world.

On June 6, 2019, the New York City Police Commissioner made a formal apology on behalf of the New York Police Department for the actions of its officers at Stonewall in 1969. Today, Pride events are held annually throughout the world to mark the Stonewall riots and the impact they had on the fight for LGBT+ rights, and in 2016, the Stonewall National Monument was erected at the site.

On this day, I’m reflecting on the courage of the Stonewall protesters all those years ago, for standing up for their rights and for refusing to accept the mistreatment of the LGBT+ community. It takes incredible courage to stand up to a society who is rejecting you and abusing you just because of who you are and who you love.

Having the courage to be who you truly are is the greatest triumph of life. To all of my LGBT+ brothers, sisters and non-binary family, you are a gift to the world, and I stand with you today and every day. #Pride #LoveIsLove

Don’t lose yourself in the sky,

or get stuck in the Earth.

You are a weaver of worlds.

A heavenly dancer.

Planting Seeds with every step.

A bridge between spirit and matter.

The Star Gardener.

Here to help us remember.

Avalon in full bloom

Rebecca Campbell Glastonbury Abbey

Summer is here after what has felt like a very, very long winter. Inner and outer. And Avalon is now in full bloom, bees buzzing, buds bursting and blossoms taking my breath away with every step. My roses and peonies are lighting me up more than I imagined. Sunny seems to love flowers as much as me, reaching for them every five minutes; he now thinks the peony bush is called “Gentle….no!”

Peony

Soon after we were called to this land, my husband and I verbalised the yearning that was seeded deep in our hearts that we had not until that point named. To live in devotion to nature.

As the wheel has turned many times since and those roots have gotten deeper, we have both been through deep deep healing and transformation. First him, then it was my turn (still is!).

Avalon is known as the home of the Goddess, it is a place of healing that pilgrims have been travelling to since times ancient. It is also a place of transformation. I’m very grateful for what this land has held us through. The light and the dark. The expanse and the void. The many faces of the Goddess. She’s seen it all before. She’s held it all before.

Yew tree

In our garden is a protected ancient yew tree. The yew is a sacred tree of this land and my ancestry. You will often find them in churchyards. But don’t be mistaken and think that the church came first; in many cases the yew was already a place of worship.

Rose on yew

During the Roman invasion of the Celtic Isles, churches were built on sites that were sacred to the Celtic peoples. This land that I live on was home to the Dumnonii people, who are said to have retreated into the Selwood Forest during the Roman invasion. I have been developing a relationship with that sacred forest since 2018 and it is also where I host my sacred pilgrimage retreats.

The Glastonbury Tor

In times like these I feel we are all being called to look at our disconnection from the earth and each other. For many, emotions from sadness to rage are bubbling up to be released from our bodies. As if the pressure has all of a sudden become too much to contain. We are learning the difference between wants and yearnings.

Rose Rebecca Campbell

Wants often feel empty once we get them and are often externally based. We almost immediately move on to the next thing. Yearnings are much more subtle and simple and based on a state of being. Living in devotion to nature is one of my deepest yearnings. Deepening my connection to my ancestral lineage is another. So much has been severed throughout human history. And I believe we are all processing that right now.

Just up the road from me in Glastonbury is a recognised public indigenous British Goddess Temple. I believe that so many of us feel the disconnection from the Goddess. And that we can bring Her back through connecting to the land, and building temples within our own hearts in devotion to Her.

While I know we have a long way to go, I’m not sure how long it will take and it’s not clear what we are in, I do have hope for humanity. I have hope for the generations to come. And I believe that if we are to thrive on this planet, we must continue again and again to return to each other, ourselves and the earth. To remember that we are nature and to reweave the sacred back into our everyday lives.

Congratulations to Annabelle Sharman

ANNABELLE SHARMAN 2

A huge congratulations to my friend and colleague Annabelle Sharman who took part in the Diverse Wisdom UK programme and has won a publishing contract for her powerful book, Future Ancestor!

I am very grateful to the ancestors for weaving Annabelle and I together, my life is richer for it and know the world will be much richer for her words being added to the collective tapestry.

Annabelle is a proud Mutti Mutti woman, healer, writer, visionary, cultural conservationist and creative. She has a natural connection to the medicine of the land she lives on and honours and shares her ancestral cultural heritage, knowledge and wisdom through her work.

It was an honour to mentor Annabelle; her writing is authentic, moving and charged with symbolism. I am looking forward to seeing her book in the hands of many, I know it will provide deep medicine that is so needed now. I love this quote from her book proposal:

‘We are all future ancestors, and as a future ancestor we have a responsibility to nurture, protect, and restore the balance to our Mother (Earth). We are of her. She owns us. This book honours her and honours us.’

Congrats Annabelle!

You Arose

https://rebeccacampbell.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/YOU+AROSE.mp3

Veins like rivers

Breath like the wind

Blood like the tides

Tears like the ocean

Heart beating to the Mother’s drum

Ancient exploding stars in every single cell

The flower knows

The stones do too

Won’t you remember?

You were never perfect

You

never

fell

You arose

Heaven perfecting itself

Light seeded into matter

Always

only

ever

unfolding

For Those Going through Sacred Pain

Rebecca Campbell_For those going through sacred pain

https://rebeccacampbell.s3.eu-west-2.amazonaws.com/FOR+THOSE+GOING+THROUGH+SACRED+PAIN+IG+STORIES.m4a

Soon, these times of sacred rebirthing will be over. Soon. Soon. Soon.

These moments of devastating

s    e    p    a     r    a    t    i    o    n,

of polarity,  of being misunderstood, of confusion, of not being seen or heard…

And while just now we may not be able to see the end in sight, from the perspective of the soul what we are in is but a breath in the timeline of the Earth.

This moment matters. You came here for this. We all have our own personal syllabus. And some day, some decade or century soon, what feels like it will matter, will not.

So trust your part in the sacred play. Trust that these times are birthing times for the future of humanity. For all of us – both individually and collectively. Holy rebirthing times.

The one must fall for true Oneness to reign. It’s both about you and not about you. Trust your part in the sacred labor. In the contractions. In the pressure. In the darkness. In the  p  u  s  h.

In the void we will birth ourselves and discover that what we thought was a tomb is actually a womb. After winter sweetness will return once more.

It is the law of the Earth.

The moment of your birth

Rebecca Campbell_The moment of your birth

Before you were born your soul consulted with the cosmos to arrange the details of your return.

The location and conditions were carefully orchestrated and seeded as you crossed the
threshold of the in‑ between – the watery world of the Mother.

There you waited in the fertile void as all of the stars and the planets in the knowable and
unknowable cosmos moved into place.
When the alignment was just right, a portal opened and you were crowned upon your entrance to the world.

A soul embodied.
Spirit planted.
Eternal woven into matter.
Heaven and Earth combined.

Your cells, your flesh, your bones, your eyes, all made up of ancient exploding stars.
The Universe magnificently ordered as the cosmos.
Your basic existence is enough to blow anyone’s mind.

How did you get here?
And why did you choose to come?
Somehow, the cosmic curtains parted for the great dance of your life to begin.

This is that life and you are that dancer.
It took a lot for you to be here now.
To be planted here now.
And what a time you chose to come.
