What do I do if I'm afraid people will laugh at me? - 7/101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers

This is an except from my book: 101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers. Then you don't want success badly enough if you're too worried about people laughing at you. I'd be more worried about giving my customers a damn good service than people laughing at me.Over time as people see your successes they'll stop laughing at you and start saying how they knew you from the beginning. It can be hard at the start, but over time as you achieve things, people will stop laughing.A "stupid" idea is not stupid once they see it working and as they see your results.Question of the day: why are you frightened that people will laugh at you?

What if I make mistakes? - 6/101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers

This is an except from my book: 101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers.A mistake only means that you have to take your idea back to the drawing board and reconfigure it so it is more efficient, powerful and accurate. Mistakes are valuable because they teach you what you are doing wrong and what you may need to do instead. You've got to welcome mistakes and the more mistakes you make, the better. Seth Godin, the marketing thought leader said once "the person who fails the most wins". When you are making mistakes you're learning what not to do, which is just as important as knowing what to do. The more mistakes you make, the sooner you can get ahead. It took Thomas Edison at least 10,000 attempts to make a single light bulb, but when he master the technique on how to create one, he managed to make a second on in a much shorter space of time.Question of the day: what mistake are you making?

What if I'm too frightened to act? - 5/101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers

Every successful person you see, whether in money, business, health, sports, etc, started somewhere at the bottom in their respective fields. It is about finding what it is you have a passion for and then sticking to it for the rest of your life- find your one thing and latch onto it.Furthermore, if you're too frightened now then you need to build up your desire for success and achievement until your desire is greater than your fear of failure, doubt, insecurities or whatever else it is that's holding you back.Question of the day: what are you frightened of? What is stopping you?

How do I know for sure that I want to be an entrepreneur? - 4/101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers

This is an except from my book: 101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers.Back in late 2014 I started to listen to an entrepreneur's podcast and the subject talked about was automation, robots  and being an entrepreneur. He mentioned a book by Tim Ferriss called the 4 Hour Work Week. It was listening to this podcast and the audio book that inspired me to become an entrepreneur, as I realised at this point that I need to take action to have a better life.I cannot tell you when or how you'll want to become an entrepreneur, it is a quiet revolution that happens inside of you, where you realise that your path is futile and that you can see a better path, but it requires work, to expand your comfort zone and knowledge. It is a series of revelations where you realise what you have to do and the course you'd need to take for a better life.In late 2014 I was learning how to animate with online tutoring from professionals that worked in the game industry. I asked my online mentor "what is your end game?" and he said to "animate till I die", there is nothing wrong with his goals and ambitions, but that is not what I want to do for the rest of my life: work, work and more work, then drop dead.Question of the day: Are you an entrepreneur? Why?

Do I have what it takes to be an entrepreneur? - 3/101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers

This is an except from my book: 101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers.Without even meeting you: I know you do, because others in a worse situation than you have achieved, or are achieving big things. It is not easy being an entrepreneur- it is simple, but not easy. It is a way of life, it is about being introspective, learning, changing, prioritizing, taking action and becoming better. Being humble enough to say you were wrong, yet knowing what not to do and what to do. Working on your passions and working on the things that you believe in.Other people with crippling health issues and excuses why they should not to bother have succeeded, which shows that it is more about mental attitude towards business, success and entrepreneurship rather than your mental capacity.Question of the day: Are you going to step up? When?

Why become an entrepreneur? - 2/101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers

This is an except from my book: 101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers. The world is changing. Jobs are being outsourced to other parts of the world where it's cheaper, or are being automated with robots and machine.Technology is making life, business and commerce easier, quicker and better for the consumer. Why go to the supermarket, when you can order your groceries online and it'll come to you?The barriers to entry for business and to be seen on the world stage is collapsing, making things like writing books, starting businesses or broadcasting yourself cheap or free. It only takes some knowledge, so you know what to do, and some bravery to give you the confidence to act.The gatekeepers are disappearing and technology is making opportunities possible that would have been unheard of 10-20 years ago- and it is only going to get better.Question of the day: are you an entrepreneur? Do you have what it takes?

What is an entrepreneur? - 1/101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers

This is an except from my book: 101 Entrepreneur Questions and Answers.I personally used to believe that entrepreneurship was about connecting the dots and getting a product from person X to person Y. This was a rather limited understanding of entrepreneurship as it was looking at it from a purely economic stand point. This description is indeed accurate, but only explains and reveals part of what an entrepreneur is.An entrepreneur solves problems for other people by connecting the dots.An entrepreneur identifies problem(s) that society has that he, or she, knows that they can solve. When people have more problems than money, then they are willing to pay other people (you) to solve their problems for them. If someone needs shoes and does not have them, then an entrepreneur can provide them shoes and thus become rich. Understand this: as you help people get what they want, they'll give you what you want: money, reputation or fame. You have to give before you can receive.Question of the day: Are you an entrepreneur?  What do you think makes an entrepreneur?

How will things be sold 10 years from now? - 19/19 Entrepreneur Success Principles

This is an except from my book: 19 Entrepreneur Success Principles. The future is at hand and the internet's affects are only now being felt in the world, and 30 years from now, the world will feel the full effects of the internet. How will things be sold 10 years from now? And endeavor to do them now instead. Seek to find ways that you can use today's trends and upcoming technology to your advantage, this way your business can be future-proof, whilst you are adapting to the changes in the world and having an unfair advantage against your competitors.I remember reading an article about Amazon wanting to deploy a air blimp above a city which will deploy drones from it that sends your orders directly to your home. They are now beginning to use drones to deliver products and fulfill peoples' orders. Robots and automation are on the rise and will only increase in prominence and complexity.Question of the day: what new trends are on the horizon? How can you leverage them now? How can you leverage them when they are in full swing?

Why Climb the corporate ladder, when you can own it? - 9/19 Entrepreneur Success Principles

This is an except from my book: 19 Entrepreneur Success Principles. Why spend years of your life working for another entrepreneur's dream when you can set up your own company, do the things you want to do and be at the top of the ladder by default? Why climb the corporate ladder when you can own it from day one? Some people will work their entire lives from the bottom of the corporate ladder and work their way to the top. Nothing inherently wrong with this, but it is not a very fast way to get to the top of business. I suspect that a faster way is to expand your comfort zone, take in the knowledge about how to run, start and grow your own business. As it grows you can become a leading player in the market and make a dent in the world. When you start a company, you make all the rules, you get all of the success, achievements and recognitions. You also get all the crap, challenges and difficulties, but it only makes you stronger and a better businessman.Question of the day:

Access not Ownership - 18/19 Entrepreneur Success Principles

This is an except from my book: 19 Entrepreneur Success Principles.A rather unrealized and heavily underutilized principle is this principle of access not ownership. This is a trend that is happening in the world, where people are choosing not to own things but instead to access and rent something for the duration of the time that they need it. For instance: AirBnB, Uber and Amazon are good examples of people accessing their domain, systems, popularity and reputation to profit or benefitQuestion of the day: what are you accessing without owning? What are you leveraging that belongs to someone else?
