Busy Days
Haven’t blogged much lately. Busy getting ready for my daughter’s first birthday party and working on the re-write of “Darash”. Also, I haven’t had a lot come to mind.
Feels like I’m in a valley, waiting for God to move. I will seek Him out and He will show me the path.
“Darash” re-write is coming along pretty well. Tonight I’ll wrap up chapter 11. I’m still looking at an April release. Don’t know exactly when.
Please tell your friends that from October 27th – 29th that “Baqash” will be free for Kindle. I’ll send out a reminder blog post in a couple of days.
I’m off to review a chapter I re-wrote. Got some things to smooth over. Have a blessed day.

The Ornery
And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be grieved and distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death; remain here and keep watch with Me.”- Matthew 26:37 – 38
This isn’t a Salvation idea, it’s not one to get hung up on. But I’ve pondered over the last few days why Jesus took these three to be with Him while he was grieved of soul. Certainly, I would think, that I’d want to take my mom, or another comforting fellow along.
But He chose, as His companions, during this most stressful time, to take along the sons of Thunder and the most outspoken man of His following.
From all of my reading in other commentaries of the disciples, I gather that Peter spent a bit of time with his foot in his mouth. He spoke up when he probably should have remained silent. Yet, Jesus saw him as his closest friend. He was a man after God’s heart like Daniel.
As for the Sons of Thunder, many scholars believe they were zealots. Hot tempered and ready for a scrap.
All I can gather from His choice (at this present time) is that He loves the ornery. The wayward. Those of strong spirit and a tendency to be outspoken (if even at times wrong).
He loves the ornery, the rowdy, and those of a wayward spirit. Isn’t that cause for rejoicing?

Darash: Re-Writing
July of last year, while Baqash was with my first readers, I wrote the prologue, epilogue and chapters 1 through 9 of Darash. Today was like looking back through time. It felt kinda like watching those videos of when you were a kid. I re-wrote the prologue and chapters 1 and 2. It amazes me how much my craft has changed over 250,000 words (give or take a few).
I’m hoping to have the re-write done by February 28th and out to my first readers shortly thereafter.

“Darash” Rough Draft
I think I’m done with the rough draft of Darash. No more ideas are coming to mind. All of the characters have gotten where they need to go.
On the re-write I’ll add probably 2,000 words or so. Maybe add two chapters tops. Some interesting things came out in the end about Daniel.
Starting the re-write on Monday. Have a blessed weekend.

91,233 Words – Darash
Well, the goal is 120,000 words. That is how long I’d like Darash to be. That’s 484 pages. I’m 91,233 words into Darash. Roughly 11 chapters left to go. Don’t know if we’ll hit 120K, but we will be close. Originally I wanted ‘Baqash’ to be 75K words, it is 72K.
I’d rather tell a good story in the end than worry so much about the word count. And who wants filler words? I like my books gripping and fast paced, don’t you?
Oh, and the picture of the 747-400? Someone from ‘Baqash’ knows how to fly one. We find out who in Darash.

Darash, Proof Giveaway
Once we’ve reached the proof stage of Darash I’ll print up an extra copy to be given away. I’ll personalize and sign it. On the last page Createspace (Amazon) adds “Proof Copy” to the bottom of the page.
Details of the giveaway will be released closer to the time of said giveaway. And, at that time, all you’ll have to do is “Like” that post to get your name in the pot. I’ll mail the winner the copy. Recipient needs to be 18 or older.
Potential date for ‘Darash’ release is around May. My prayer warrior suggest it’ll be sooner. Only God can lead the speed to this release.
Time to go write… be blessed.

Kahya Birthday
1) We named our daughter Kahya. Strong’s 2421 ‘Chayah’, pronunciation: (khaw-yaw’), meaning: to live, to have life, revive, quicken life.
She did her best to avoid the ultrasound, dancing, kicking, and on the move. Now she’s on the move, just as much, but not nearly as constrained. There’s a whole big world to see!
2) Anyway, her birthday falls on: 18th Shevat, 5776. She’ll be 1 year old (according to the Hebrew calendar this year it will be on Feb 14th). She was born on January 28th, 2015 according to our calendar.
It’s both fun and confusing when looking at the Jewish calendar since the dates float around. Or is it that our dates are wrong? Fun things to think about, but nothing to get distracted over.
3) ‘Baqash’ eBook will be free on Amazon from January 27th – 29th to celebrate my babygirl’s birthday.
Please tell your friends and family. I’ll send out a reminder notice as the time draws near.
Have a blessed day

Phyllis Update 01/07/2017
Phyllis doesn’t blog, so occasionally I print off an update and hand it to her at church. I believe, if not for her prayers and that of many others: I would never have met my amazing wife, had a beautiful, or written a book.

Love Kindness
He has told you, O man, what is good; And what does the Lord require of you But to do justice, to love kindness, And to walk humbly with your God? – Micah 6:8
“and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:30-31
Micah 6:8 came to my attention today. Could finding God’s will be that easy? Love God, Love others, serve the world. Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly with God.
Think (Phil 4:8) and seek whatever is good?
