Fanfic

I don't put my fanfic on GR but if anyone's interested in it, it's (mostly) all here

http://archiveofourown.org/users/Jane...

It's also mostly slash, though not all. I started writing fic in ooh, 2003? Maybe earlier because I posted to a Buffy newsgroup. Does anyone reading this even remember newsgroups, lol?

Buffy to Stargate to The Sentinel to H-50, with excursions into Teen Wolf, Psych, Suits... I added them up and I've written for 35 fandoms with 921 fics archived. There are more than that but I can't be bothered to put some of the very earliest Buffy fics up because I was just starting and they weren't brilliant.

I love stats and numbers and such. My most hit fic is a D/s Suits one that's had 20,414 hits. Wow. :;blinks:: My longest is Secretary, a co-written spankfest epic of 656,731 words. And my shortest ones are the 100 word drabbles. Adore drabbles. They're an artform.

And when I die, carve it on my grave that I wrote the first ever Wincest fic the day after the pilot aired. Then add that drabbles are 100 words exactly, not counting title, and I'll rest easy ;-)

Now I want to write some, but I'm not really watching anything in a fannish way at the moment :-(

Update

Thought I'd do a post about what I'm doing.

Working on blog posts for the Closing the Loop blog tour (book comes out May 25th!)

Working on a book with Alexa that no one expects or knows about so we're taking our time with it.

Then we're writing a novella set in the Laying a Ghost universe. Why? Because February 2016 is the tenth anniversary of its publication. Loose Id are planning an anniversary edition, more details closer to the time, and we'll be including some new material as well. John and Nick will always be our favorite characters in many ways and we can't wait to get back to them.

After that, we're playing with a few possibilities, one another Square Peg book, again, going back to the start, and focusing on Ben and Shane because we miss them. Or something totally different. I have this silly idea I want to write about a man who's a sub-sitter, the same way people are cat-sitters or house-sitters, in a futuristic setting, who falls for one of the subs he's looking after but whether that will ever get written, I don't know.

In the meantime, I'm sure I'll start work on a solo project at some point, but right now, my mum's arrived from the UK for a three-week visit and I'm catching up with her.

New Free Short and a Giveaway!

In a fit of spring-cleaning enthusiasm I revised my freebie shorts on AO3, put them all on GR, and made an official cover for them.

I also added a brand new story, written this week, set in my home town (names changed to avoid awkwardness). Lots of fun to write.

Here's a list of them on on GR with links to where you can read/download.

And the giveaway? Guess what team inspired my cover design (there's a clue in the new story Academic Interest).

I'll give it one week (Monday 27th) then draw names if more than one person guesses correctly and the winner gets their choice of one of my ebooks.

Academic Interest M/m spanking.

What do you want to read?

I'm about to write a set of blog posts of about 750-1000 words for Closing the Loop's blog tour.

The purpose is to generate interest in the book and get people curious and in the mood to buy it (and love it! Love it to bits! :-))

So what do you like to read on a blog tour? I tend to do a few extra scenes filling gaps in the book or deleted scenes (don't have any for this story), or me babbling on about something writing related.

Are these good/bad/indifferent? Want something else? Let me know!

Because I'm writing them for you when all's said and done :-)

I thought to keep them in one place, I'd archive the blog tour new/missing scenes from Life Under New Management at AO3.

So I did :-)

They're here.

Blog Tour, final day at Fallen Angel Reviews

I will miss this tour. It's been fun. Thank you for hosting me today, Fallen Angel Reviews.

Today is the final extra scene from Life Under New Management and it takes place during the mountain hike they take near the end of the book.

It was fun to expand on that hike (which is one David and I took with our daughters, then pretty young. The book SAID it was an easy stroll. IT WAS NOT. But the views were incredible.)

Blog Tour Day Six: Erotica For All and a new scene

Today I'm being hosted by the kind people at Erotica For All as part of the Life Under New Management blog tour; thank you!

The post is a short extra scene I wrote for the tour and it features Ethan's POV. I chose not to write this book in the usual alternating POV. I wanted the reader to be in Andy's head for the whole journey. Ethan changed, yes, but not as much as Andy and I wanted the reader to experience Andy's doubts and misconceptions without being able to peek at things from Ethan's side and get more clues than Andy had. Level playing field ;-)

But I loved the opportunity to get inside Ethan's head at least once.
