Closing the Loop available for pre-order

Closing the Loop my BDSM novella from Riptide, is now available for pre-order at a special price. It will come out on May 25 and is set partly in Mississauga and partly a tropical gay cruise.

I know where I'd rather be right now...

Closing the Loop.

A week on a tropical gay cruise is just what Lee needs after a bad breakup and a Canadian winter. It’s a shame his ex is on board, but Lee is sharing a cabin with Cole, a hot lawyer who—as luck would have it—is actually from Lee’s city. So when Cole unexpectedly awakens Lee’s kinky side, Lee begins to dream that they can actually take their shipboard romance home with them.

But Cole is keeping secrets involving a troubled young man on board the ship. And Lee, after his recent brush with betrayal, finds it difficult to trust Cole when he says Justin isn’t a rival.

Then he learns the truth and is also drawn into the tragic story. His dream vacation is in danger of turning dark, but he’s determined to navigate Cole and himself to a safe harbor before their blisteringly hot romance is lost at sea.

What do you want to read?

I'm about to write a set of blog posts of about 750-1000 words for Closing the Loop's blog tour.

The purpose is to generate interest in the book and get people curious and in the mood to buy it (and love it! Love it to bits! :-))

So what do you like to read on a blog tour? I tend to do a few extra scenes filling gaps in the book or deleted scenes (don't have any for this story), or me babbling on about something writing related.

Are these good/bad/indifferent? Want something else? Let me know!

Because I'm writing them for you when all's said and done :-)

Closing the Loop Teaser

Closing the Loop comes out from Riptide next Monday.

Here's a random snippet:

“As my guest, there’s no reason for you to do anything but choose what you like off the menu.”
Lee waggled his finger from side to side. “Uh-huh. That makes it a date. Dates mean I at least get a kiss when it’s over. If you pick up the tab, are you prepared to pucker up too?”
Cole laughed, the sound rich and deep. “It depends on what you eat. If you go for squid, maybe not with tongue.”
“No worries. I make it a rule not to eat anything with more legs than me.”
Cole frowned. “No steaks? Bacon?”
“Cows have two sets of two legs. So do pigs.”
“Logical. Incorrect, absurd even, but logical.”

Another teaser for Closing the Loop

Here's another teaser for Closing the Loop which comes out from Riptide on May 25.

“I can’t. Not here.” Cole glanced around frantically, hands beating at the water. He didn’t swim off, pulling up his shorts on the way, though. Lee would always honor a ‘no’ but Cole’s often sounded like, ‘make me’. He hoped he never misread a genuine refusal, but he was certain this one was pro forma. Cole believed he shouldn’t do this, but he wanted to, oh yeah, he did.
Still, he’d hate to be wrong. He took his hand away, watching Cole’s face and yeah, there it was, a moment of disappointment, a frown, lips parting as if to protest before Cole smoothed all emotion away.
He hadn’t moved his hand far. “Nod or smile, or I stop,” he told Cole, cupping the jiggle of Cole’s balls in a practiced grip. “Because I don’t know you well enough to weigh your mouth saying ‘stop’ against your cock going rock hard.”
Cole did neither. He dropped his hand, covered Lee’s, and applied pressure.
“Thought so.”
“Smugness isn’t attractive,” Cole said. The gasp he gave afterward robbed it of force.

Inspiration for Closing the Loop

Closing the Loop comes out from Riptide on May 25.

When I researched the gay cruise Lee and Cole go on, this was what I used for inspiration, though the 2016 cruise has a slightly different itinerary and I didn't make their ship an exact match, of course:

Looks like fun! Browse the pix of the restaurants, cabins, and spas on board and sigh with envy; I know I did.

Inspiration for Cole from Closing the Loop

When I create a character sometimes it helps to have a visual. For Closing the Loop there was only ever one choice for Cole, the English lawyer Lee meets before the cruise and this is him. He. Whatever :-)

In real life, he's Ozwald Boateng, fashion designer.

Today (and yesterday's!) Closing the Loop Blog Tour Stops

I'm a writer. I could dream up a dozen reasons ranging from the plausible to the ridiculous as to why I didn't mention two of the three blog posts that went up yesterday at review sites.

But I was brought up to tell the truth and shame the devil so I'll confess, with apologies, that I glanced at the list, assumed there was one site a day, and didn't read past the first line.

So no excuse, simply an explanation; I'm an idiot.

Let's try again. Yesterday, three sites kindly hosted me, all offering a chance to win a signed copy of my earlier Riptide book, Lucky Strike some with long excerpts from the book so you can see if you like it, or a blog post by me. Here are the details for today and yesterday.

3 Chicks After Dark Giveaway/Post by me about accents in stories.
