SASHES AND TIARAS.....Miss Supranational 2016 Preliminaries Evening Gowns: Top 13 Uh Oh!

Peacock Gal: Miss Supranational Germany--Miss Supranational 2016 Preliminaries Evening Gown Competition

Uh Oh Sparkle: (L to R) Miss Supranational France, Miss Supranational Gibraltar and Miss Supranational Germany--Miss Supranational 2016 Preliminaries Evening Gown Competition

In my last post HERE, I RECAP'ed my Top 15 (plus one) Best/Favorite Gowns from the "Miss Supranational 2016" Preliminaries which occurred a couple of days ago in Poland. There were several nice gowns but...now it's time for my "Uh Oh/Oh No She Didn't" List. I have to be honest with you, there were A LOT of tacky gowns. Not sure why but when I was looking through the photos, it was as if I was looking at background dancer costume photos from Eurovision! Well, with that said, I had to narrow it down to my "Top 13" of Uh Oh Gown Messes for "Miss Supranational 2016" Preliminaries Evening Gown Competition.

Let's begin with...

England Angelina Kali: While I give her points for "Sexy Drama", this white lace gown was Tacky Sexy, in a "Virgin Elvira" sort of way. First off, the fabrication looked like a doily. And the style was just way too revealing; the side front slit, the side midriff cut-out, the shoulder...and then that look of "How Mucheey?" that she was giving, did it for me.

Score: 7.00

Belgium Amina Serroukh: Bless her heart. That's pretty much all I can say in a nutshell. Amina wore this black and white gown with an iridescent ruffled top section and silver sequined trim straight from the Downtown LA Santee Alley fabric trim bins.

Score: 6.90

Costa Rica Paola Chacon: I give Paola points for trying to be on "Pageant Gown Trend" with the nude/blush colored gown. But this was a mess. The silver dress fabric looked inexpensive, the top portion with nude illusion panels was BAD figure skating costume-like and then, the bottom half of her POLYESTER satin overskirt was wrinkled. Are there steamers in Poland?? Ayyy Dios Mio!

Score: 6.80

France Pernodet Oceane: OK, first off, I was intrigued by the silver sequin detail in her gown. From far away she looked like a Goddess from "Game of Thrones" or something. But as I looked closer, the embellishment was giving more Christmas Tree decor than Haute Couture. But worst of all, are those really her breast pads showing through the sheer-ish fabric??? And Spanx??? No and No.

Score: 6.50

South Africa Talitha Bothma: Talitha wore this golden one shoulder stain and sequined applique gown. I get that she was being "on trend" with the Golden Gowns look but...this just looked inexpensive, store-bought and slightly tackylicious. That charmeuse satin screamed polyester. And those big ol' earrings and that shocking red lipstick didn't help. And once again, it was wrinkled! Seriously, are there any steamers in Poland??

Score: 6.50

Nigeria Adaeze Obasi: Not sure why anyone did not tell the lovely Adaeza that the inner dress of this gown was WAAAY too short. I also think the combination of pink and gold: Prom Tacky. This could have been nice if the skirt didn't stop 1/4" below her CHA-CHA and if the inside wasn't pink and well, for many other reasons. On a positive note: The length was perfect and I did kind of like the gold sequined swirl appliques!

Score: 6.30

Portugal Linda Cardoso: Oh Miss Supranational Portugal. I am sure she was going for Gown Princess with this look. The design and silhouette is pretty standard: There's the bustier and gathered full skirt attached to it. It's Gown 101. But the difference here is that sequined silver top. It looks like a Christmas ornament. And then, to add insult to injury, the fabric of the skirt is wrinkled ON PURPOSE. Oh Dear God.

Score: 6.20

Denmark Malane Sorensen: Oh My! The color is WAAAY too Sweet Sixteen Tacky and the length is too short. And the shoes are wrong. And her smooshed boobies are too distracting for me. This is cute if she was attending a Homecoming Dance in Copenhagen but not for "Miss Supranational".

Score: 6.10

Croatia Petra Bojic: Don't know why but all I can think of is Petra looks like a Euro Footballer's wife or tacky girlfriend at a fancy party. The dress looks inexpensive and store-bought. And more importantly, why didn't anyone tell her about the "bulls-eye"-like sequined circle right near her you-know-what??!! I am Gown Baffled. On a good note: Her gold-tone shoes were nice--at least she didn't wear those tacky platform Stripper heels!

Score: 6.10

Guadeloupe Jenifer Geran: File under "Bless Your Heart". I am sure Miss Supranational Guadeloupe probably does not get the same amount of pageant funding a "Miss Venezuela" or "Miss Philippines" does. And so, I try and cut her some slack but...this iridescent gown is just Tackylicious. It looks inexpensive and a bit "Happy hands at Home" (as Tim Gunn would say)--like if her cousin, or grandma, made it. I used to excuse these things but, when you are competing in such an international pageant stage, these ladies need to bring it! At the very least: Read a Vogue magazine or look at Vogue.com for Runway/Red Carpet Gown suggestions and see if anyone in that gorgeous island of hers can copy it! On a good note: Her jewelry is quite interesting!

Score: 5.00

Gibraltar Aisha Ben Yahya: When you combine Cha-Cha with Figure Skating Costume with Folies Bergere...This is what you get. While it is super fun and she's probably is a hoot at a party, this is just the kind of gown that will get people talking...but for the wrong reasons.

Score: 5.00

Slovak Republic Lenka Tekeljakova: If I can say something nice, it is that she looks ethereal. Other than that, this is just a Flower Mess. Pink tulle, flower pedal appliques all bunched together in her breasts...what would make her think this was A) Elegant; B) Cute; C) Gown chic; and D) Appropriate for an international pageant contestant? I can see this on a "Flower Day" parade (if there is such a thing) or a Spring Dance Recital but for the Evening Gown Competition of "Miss Supranational"??!!

Score: 4.95

Finally...

Germany Anja-Vanessa Peter: I don't even know where to begin with Miss Supranational Germany and this gown. But maybe, I'll start with the obvious: THAT "Peacock"-inspired sequined top! First of all, the fit is awkward; it's way too low and makes her look as if she has "SBS: Sagging Boob Syndrome". Then, I think it's a bit too "Showgirl/Las Vegas". And then (yes, there is more!), IT'S A SEQUINED LEOTARD/BODYSUIT...with an attached ivory double-front split skirt. There are so many things wrong with what I just typed, I am shaking! But God bless her, she is a trouper: Smiling through it all.

Score: 4.95

SASHES AND TIARAS.....Miss Supranational 2016 Evening Gown Preliminaries: My Best Top 15!

Teal Gorgeous: Miss Philippines Joanna Eden in a Mark Bumgarner gown

It's Pageant Gown Time again!! On December 2nd, a new "Miss Supranational" will be crowned in Poland. 72 contestants from all over the world are competing for this title, which is in it's 8th year and is quickly growing as one of the "Grand Slam" pageants (along with Miss World, Miss Universe, Miss International and Miss Earth). Two days ago the pageant held the Preliminary Competition for Swimsuit and more importantly for this blog, the Evening Gowns. Overall, there were some nice gown choices for some of the beautiful ladies but there were also some questionable (Read: Tackylicious) choices as well, which I will cover a follow post. But now, let's get to my Top 15 Favorites of Evening Gowns for the 2016 Miss Supranational Preliminaries.

Malaysia Julylen Liew Gizelle: I absolutely LOVE this silver sequined gown worn by Miss Supranational Malaysia. Not only is the design outstanding and Couture-worthy, I love the perfect fit, her chic center-parted chignon hair as well as choice of earrings. Normally I would criticize these too-high platform heels, but I'm glad she chose to wear gold/metallic ones as opposed to nude or Lucite "Stripper" styles.

Score: 9.80

Philippines Joanna Eden: Miss Supranational Philippines Joanna Eden wore this beautiful teal-colored gown from Filipino designer Mark Bumbarner. The custom-made gown featured an off-shoulder draped neckline/top section and split-front skirt, as well as a dramatic overskirt. She looked flawless and so did this gown.

Score: 9.90

Suriname Jaleesa Pigot: Miss Supranational Suriname wore this ivory lace and gold applique gown featuring a beautiful capelet detail. I think this was one of the prettiest gowns from this year's contestants. I thought she looked elegant and royalty-like. I loved the style, how she styled her hair, and the fact that the gown itself was the PERFECT length.

Score: 9.75

Vietnam Kha Trang: Three words--Go On Vietnam! Miss Supranational was SERVING YOU GOWN FABULOUSNESS with this lipstick red gown at the Preliminaries. The strapless design was very much on the Zuhair Murad style of gowns (although I don't think it was Zuhair Murad by the way!) with its fitted  UBER sexy silhouette and dramatic flowing overskirt. The gown looked well done and it was striking! I wish she hadn't worn those gold platform heels and instead some non-platform strappy ones but since I forgave Miss Supranational Malaysia, I'll forgive her too. Only this time!

Score: 9.75

Venezuela Valeria Vespoli: Valeria is wearing a gown from Venezuelan designer Alejandro Fajardo. He's made a name for himself creating these very intricate--and beautiful--gowns for various Miss Venezuela pageant title holders as well as Venezuelan TV personalities. I thought this was a very nice impacting gown with all its hand-sewn beading and sexy-but-not-tacky-sexy effect. It is one of the best of the Miss Supranational 2016 Preliminaries Evening Gowns.

Score: 9.65

Turkey Damla Figan: I thought Damla's sequin-and-tulle gown was exquisite. I loved the covered up neckline and lack of slit (what a novel idea!?). I also liked the cascading beaded paisley "petals" and how they were all clustered in the midriff. This is a GORGEOUS and very red carpet-worthy gown. And Damla looks serene in it.

Score: 9.70

Chile Maria Trinidad Rendic Munizaga: Miss Supranational Chile wore this silver gown with draped "cowl-like" shoulder/arm details. the dress--from far away--looks as if it was made of chainmail but in fact, it's all silver mini paillettes. The gown fit perfectly (perfect length!) and definitely made an impression in my Evening Gown book!

Score: 9.40

Ukraine Lenna Anastassia: OK, first off--WOW! This woman is beautiful and in this photo and pose, she looks like someone should give her a crown ASAP! Lenna wore this golden tulle gown with sequin appliques featuring a high center front slit and illusion-covered front neckline. While she does look like a Perfect Pageant Queen, there's nothing extraordinarily High Fashion about this style. But I do admire the perfect length of her dress, elegant hair styling and simple modern makeup.

Score: 9.35

Bolivia Yesenia Barrientos: Miss Supranational Bolivia wore this blue sequined halter-style gown featuring a front nude illusion mini panel. I love the varying blue and silver colors of the sequins in the gown as well as how they curve throughout her dress. Once again, I have to give praise for the correct length (no shoes seen, Thank You Very Much!). I wish she had not done her hair that way (it doesn't do her any favors!) but since this isn't a gown issue, I'll pass on that.

Score: 9.25

Romania Sinziana Sirghi: I thought this was one of the most modern and interesting gown choices of the Miss Supranational 2016 Preliminaries. It wasn't nude, or blush, or didn't have any sequin appliques...or slits for that matter. The design was runway chic with its dramatic voluminous side volants and"Mermaid Lite" shape. This is DEFINITELY NOT a typical "Pageant Gown" and I liked it because of that!

Score: 9.25

Spain Estilbe Hernandez Afonso: When I first saw this photo, I said "Go On Girl!".  I do love a dramatic one shoulder cascade arm cape! I love the royal blue/purple color and the dramatic silver applique sequins. The gown says "España!" without a single mantilla, red color or castanet! On a helpful styling note: Lose those oversized earrings. Ahora!

Score: 9.20

Ecuador Maria Isabel Pineiro: Blush and pretty. That's how I can describe this blush-colored gown worn by Miss Supranational Ecuador. These nude/blush gowns were all the rage several seasons ago on the red carpet and runways and are now gaining strength in popularity in the pageant world (it always takes several years to catch up darlings!). I like the one shoulder style and the cascading ruffled bottom section. I also think that the scroll-like sequin appliques look quite nice with this style of a gown.

Score: 9.10

Indonesia Intan Aletrino: I adore how GOLD this exquisite gown is. Not only does it look expensive, it looks incredibly made and the multi-sequin detail is stunning. I also like the surprise of the golden "leafs" at the hem. If there was one critique it would be that I was not  a fan of her hair styling; it looked WAAAY too casual for this type of gown. She should have slicked it back or had it blown straight and chic because what she's doing now says "Shopping at an outlet mall at 3pm" . Her hair need to say 10pm VIP black tie gala!

Score: 9.10

Angola Maria Moises: Simple, elegant, modern and chic. Miss Supranational Angola looks red carpet ready in this royal blue/purple-hued column gown with silver closed "bolero" style top. While this look may not be as dramatic and fabulous as Miss Vietnam's striking red gown, it still got my attention for its elegant simplicity and good fit.

Score: 9.00

Paraguay Viviana Florentin: Gold gowns are popular this season in the pageant world and here's an example of a good one. Miss Supranational Paraguay chose well with this nude and gold sequined applique design featuring godet panels on the skirt section for movement. I liked the correct length, the style and the fit. The gold/nude also worked well with her skin tone. BTW: She looks like a younger Melania Trump in this photo: Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm just stating the somewhat obvious.

Score: 9.00

Here's an Extra...

Mexico Cynthia de la Vega: I wanted to put Miss Supranational Mexico's gown here in my "Best Top 15" as No. 15 1/2, because it was such an impacting gown, principally for its silhouette and BEYOND-BLINDING paillette fabrication. This gown could have had a super high slit, or a plunging neckline...or some tacky skin-revealing side peek-a-boos or nude illusion insets...but it did not. And while the length was correct, I was NOT a fan of those TACKY nude platform heels. Those shoes are  NOT to be worn with a Gown. Can we PLEASE tell all pageant ladies this??!!! Anyhow, I did like this gown even if she might have looked like a GOLD Disco Ball (I guess I like gold Disco balls!).

Score: 8.75

**UP NEXT: My "Uh Oh"/Ayyy Mija! List of "Miss Supranational 206" Preliminaries Evening Gowns!

WHO WORE WHAT?.....American Music Awards 2016 Red Carpet: The Good and Uh Oh!

Selena in Red: Selena Gomez at the 2016 American Music Awards

The 44th Annual American Music Awards took place Sunday night in Los Angeles and naturally, there were lots of Red Carpet Hits...as well as some CRAY-CRAY. And yes, Selena Gomez made her first pubic appearance after taking a break to focus on her mental health. Anyhow..let's discuss the Red Carpet Good and "Oh No She Didn't!

Let's begin with Selena:

Selena Gomez in Custom Prada:  The lovely--and "reappeared-after-an-absence" Selena Gomez, wore this strawberry red ballgown from the Italian fashion house, Prada. I found this design quite interesting for several reasons. First, Prada would never design a dress like this but that's neither here nor there, since this was "Custom" Prada. Second, when I saw "Prada", I thought "heck, you can put anyone's label in this since it was just such a basic dress". It was a beautiful dress and clearly the focus was to make Selena the star....BUT, I'm just saying that when I see "Prada", I want to see this:

The real non-Custom Prada: Prada Spring 2017 (L) and Fall 2016 (R)

Lady Gaga in Brandon Maxwell Spring 2017: Lady Gaga looked like a 2017 version of Joan Collins' "Dynasty" character Alexis Carrington trying to fire one of her 20 housekeepers for not dusting her Bulgari jewelry! I LOVE it! She looks fab, Diva, and so Yves Saint Laurent "Le Smoking" Super Fierce. I also ADORE how she covered up her 12" platforms, hiding them under those wide leg trousers. And BTW: This was such a beautiful suit! Kudos to Brandon Maxwell and his tailoring sewers and cutters.

Gigi Hadid in Roberto Cavalli: Gigi was vibing Boho Chic and Cavalli's designer Peter Dundas helped. His designs for Cavalli have been VERY 70's Hippy as of late and here, Gigi is giving you a little bit of Coachella, Stevie Nicks and Woodstock. I'm sure many so-called "fashion critics" might deem this too much like a doily. But, I'm kinda loving it. It worked for the AMA's and on top of that, I could totally see this if I was getting married in Martinique or Mykonos...and I was a Millionaire Model...and a girl!

Ciara in Stephane Rolland Haute Couture Fall 2016: Here's a newsflash--Ciara is pregnant. She's expecting her first child with NFL star husband Russell Simmons.  At the 2016 AMA's Red Carpet, she wore this black jersey bubble  sweater gown with black gazar and white taffeta from French designer Stephane Rolland's Haute Couture Fall 2016 collection. I thought she looked quite beautiful and this was a nice choice--especially since this was, after all, a hand-made $85,000+ costing (she got it for free) Haute Couture design.

Heidi Klum in Wolk Morais Fall 2016--Heidi Klum wore this golden printed satin lame design from Wolk Morais. In case you might be out of the "fashion loop", Wolk Morias is the semi-new clothing line from Ruffian designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais who moved to LA several years ago after being in NYC. The design Heidi is wearing came from a "Studio 54"-esque inspired collection so I get the reason why she would wear it for the AMA's. Does it look like Disco Pajamas? Possibly. But I do like the fun pussy-bow blouse and retro-natural waist cut of the pants. But yes, overall, this was two minutes from a Halloween costume.

Hailee Steinfeld in Elie Saab Ready-to-Wear Spring 2017: Actress Hailee Steinfeld wore this sequined shorty-shorts cocktail ensemble from Lebanese couturier, Elie Saab. I thought this was quite cute and fun! I loved the side cowl draped arm "capelet" details.

Janelle Monae in Marc Jacobs Resort 2017: I love me some Janelle Monae and she didn't disappoint--style-wise--with this Marc Jacobs Resort 2017 look consisting of a black-and-white fur coat and striped dress with lace trim. She looked elegant, demure and still had a sexy air of I'm-just-leaving-a-hotel-room-at-7AM-look...if the hotel is the Plaza Athenee in Paris.

Taraji P. Henson in Celine Fall 2016: Speaking of a Walk of Shame. I actually love the audacity of actress Taraji P. Henson and her choice (with help from her stylist) to wear an outfit that actually looked as if she was really just leaving a hotel room secret rendezvous. Taraji wore an oversized white shirt from Celine, and a bra. Oh, and yes, she also had some gold strappy heels. As you can see from the runway style, it was organza and unlined, but at least for Taraji, the French brand made it in a non-see-through fabric and lined it, like a jacket. I bow down to Miss Taraji; she gets Atta-Gurl Points.

Chrissy Teigen in Yousef Akbar--Chrissy Teigen made red carpet waves wearing this very. very, VERY revealing black dress to the 2016 AMA's. The gown was from Saudi Arabian-born, based in Australia, designer Yousef Akbar. The dress had UBER high slits held together by hope and a prayer...and gold safety pins. The slits went so high that they revealed the fact that she was not wearing underwear. Ayyy Mija!

Ariana Grande in Alexander McQueen: Ariana wore this top and pants look from Alexander McQueen. I thought she looked mature and still sexy. There was nothing too Hoochie, cheap or tacky. I like her in those tuxedo-striped pants and the lace bustier was quite pretty. I also love that those tacky black platform heels were HIDDEN from sight!

Bella Thorne in Anthony Franco and Natori: Actress/singer Bella Thorne wore this black jacket and cropped skinny pants from Anthony Franco and bra from Natori. I have no issues with the outfit; I think it's modern, fresh and chic. And I do LOVE those strappy heels! But...that red-and-green ombre hair and that DOUCHEY face-and-hand gesture: Not-so-Mucheey. No. No. And No.

Idina Menzel: Idian Menzel wore this see through black netting and sequin gown to the 2016 AMA's. At first, I thought : "Why?". I am no a big fan of this trend of the undergarments/leotard being seeing under the gown. This is so tacky Miss USA pageant from 2013. I know that Couturiers such as Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad were doing this seasons ago and now, all of a sudden it's caught the red carpet trend but PLEASE NO!!! I beg you! I think Ms. Menzel looked silly. She can do better.

Miss America 2017 Janine Shields: I normally have a chuckle at the fact that the Latino music awards shows like Latin GrammysPremios Tu Mundo and Premios Juventud (to name a few) always have a hunch of beauty pageant contestants/winners walking the red carpet. But, here we are at the 2016 American Music Awards and "Miss America 2017" Janine Shields from Arkansas, is walking the red carpet! (so shut my mouth!). OK, for a pageant gal, she looked modern, nice and non "Pageant Betty". There were no crystals and (thank goodness!), no tacky Stripper Platform Heels! So...I give Janine (and her stylist) points!

Bebe Rexha: Singer Bebe Rexha wore this animal printed dress accompanied with knee-high boots. The dress featured a very plunging neckline (naturally!) and super high side front slit (naturally, part 2!). Straight men probably thought she looked "HOT!" and sexy but I thought she looked Tacky-licious. This would be a cute maxi dress without the plunging neckline and super high slit...and with gold sandals and a big straw hat...while on a cruise to the Bahamas. But not for the AMA's.

Lauren Giraldo: OK, first of all, I had to Google who the lovely young woman was because I had no idea (I am too old and not "with it", I guess). Lauren Giraldo is an 18 year-old Vine sensation and somehow she thought it was cute to wear a golden leotard and nude tulle overskirt as her 2016 American Music Awards red carpet outfit. Someone should have told her that this was A) Not Las Vegas, and B) She was not auditioning for the Folie Bergere in Paris. I still have no clue as to what her talent is and why she is "famous" on Vine, but she is pretty and I do love her gold strappy heels. Maybe that's all you need.

Z LaLa: Oh, how much do I love me some Z LaLa . She's a singer best known for singing in NINETEEN different languages, according to Wikipedia. She's also known for her eccentric style and Lady Gaga-like ensembles. What she wore at the 2016 American Music Awards this past weekend was no exception. Z LaLa wore a black latex cone bra, quarterback shouldered dress with black see-though illusion netting top. Two words: YASSS KWEEN.

PROJECT RUNWAY....My TOP 5 OMG MOMENTS: Ep. 10

Up Up and Away!--Season 15 Project Runway Episode 10

Nick Verreos "Top 5 OMG Moments of Episode 10 Project Runway" on YouTube

This past week's episode of Lifetime Network's "Project Runway" involved designing an "Editorial" outfit for a "Power Woman". It was also the Marie Claire Challenge. The designers took a helicopter ride to get a fly-over view of Manhattan for their inspiration. The results were mixed. Time for my Top 5 OMG Moments of Episode 10 "Project Runway" as well as my RECAP on MyLifetime.com .  Continue reading...

Ready for a Ride--Tim Gunn and Marie Claire Editor-in-Chief Anne Fulewider (top photo) and Season 15 designers (lower photo)--Season 15 Project Runway Episode 10

Bird Sanctuary Couture??--Season 15 Project Runway Episode 10

#1....OMG! Up, Up & AWAAAAAYYY!! This week's
episode began with a "note from Heidi" (that was placed there by a
Production Assistant) telling the designers that for the next challenge
"they need to have their heads out of the clouds...and you can't wing it
and win it!". This left them scratching their heads and making wild
guesses, wondering if they were A) going hot air ballooning or B)
designing at a bird's sanctuary. As it turns out, they were taking a helicopter
ride to be inspired by Manhattan.
If you ask me....based on their runway designs...it was a waste of money...it
turns out the designers were more inspired by golf courses, and Africa?? (Hmmm!). Maybe they should have taken a taxi
ride instead...Or better yet: Gone to that BIRD SANCTUARY!!

What Kind of Underwear Should I Wear Rik?--Designers Rik
Villa and Nathalia JMag--Season 15 Project Runway Episode 10

#2....OMG! Rik's The New JENNI!! Poor little
Nathalia... ever since Jenni got the boot, Nathalia has been like a lost puppy,
caught in the rain searching of its owner. If we didn't already know that
Nathalia was the baby of the group, the editors made it LOUD and CLEAR letting
us know how much she needed a new security blanket. So.....Rik to the Rescue!
She turned to him for advice for everything. In fact, I was waiting for her to
ask him what kind of underwear she should wear for Runway Day!!  Rik was
such a trooper, taking the place of Jenni---- and bless his heart for that----
BUT if it was me, I'd be running for the Brother Sewing Room the minute I heard
Nathalia's quivering "What should I do?" voice.

Editorial Minnie Mouse and Bird Poop Slash--Designs from
Dexter Simmons (L) and Rik Villa (R)--Season 15 Project Runway Episode 10

#3....OMG!  Editorially Confused!! OK, since this was an
"Editorial" Challenge, it was just kind of interesante that
the two people--Rik and Dexter--who "attempted" to do Editorial,
ended up in the bottom. While I give them kudos for trying to step outside of
the "design box" and honor the Editorial part of the challenge,
Dexter re-hashed his Mickey Mouse exaggerated rounded shoulders jacket
and Rik made a disjointed dress that left everyone--except the Marie Claire
editor--dazed and editorially confused.

Designer Cornelius Ortiz and his design (top photo)--Season
15 Project Runway Episode 10

#4....OMG! Cornelius' Comeback!! While Cornelius' shift dress wasn't
particularly Editorial, it was definitely creative in its design. The colorful
leather inset panels and interesting seaming were unexpected and enough to give
him the Power Diva Editorial Win. In addition, it was a surprise that he was
inspired by a golf course, of all things. Luckily, his model and design looked
more Upper East Side Chic as opposed to Caddy Shack Putting Green! This was a
nice redemption for Cornelius who was saved by Tim only 2 episodes ago. Even I
was like "Really Tim, this is your SAVE?" But, yeah, at least in this
challenge, he got his "How you like me now!" moment.

Wonky Side-Bo*b: Nathalia JMag and her "Superwoman" Design--Season 15 Project Runway Episode 10

Bye: Designer Dexter Simmons--Season 15 Project Runway
Episode 10

#5....OMG! Double Auf Wiedersehen!! We knew Nathalia
was in trouble with that Star Trek-Meets-Britney Spears Wonky Side-boob
Superwoman ensemble (UFFFFF! that was BAAAD!). But Dexter gave her a run for
her money with his Gothic Minnie Mouse Jacket Re-do with a lace negligee dress
underneath. Power Goth Disney Lingerie, anyone?? Well, the moment Heidi
declared that Nathalia was OUT, and Dexter remained onstage...I thought
"You In Danger GURL!". My instincts were right and Dexter became the
victim of this season's Double Elimination :(

Here's my MyLifetime.com FULL RECAP of this week's episode of "Project
Runway":

Season 15, Episode 10 Recap: Power Trip

It seems hard to believe that we are already at episode 10 of Season 15! And as this season moves along briskly, the designers continue to dwindle in numbers and with the conclusion of this week’s episode, we are left with a surprise total of only six designers! How did we get here? Sit back, relax and join me for a ride in the “Project Runway” helicopter!

The designers are in their humble abodes where they just happen to find a note from Heidi. The note reads, “For the next challenge, be sure to have your heads out of the clouds. After all, you can’t wing it and win it.” As they leave, everyone is taking wild guesses as to whether they will be A) hot air ballooning, or B) designing in a bird’s sanctuary and using feathers. As it turns out, it’s none of the above. They all gather in wonderment at a heliport as Tim and a special guest land down in their very own “Project Runway”-branded helicopter...

ride instead...Or better yet: Gone to that BIRD SANCTUARY!!

ICE STYLE....2016 Cup of China Costumes: Ladies, Men, Pairs, Ice Dance

Batwing Diva: Russia's Elizaveta Tuktamysheva during her Free Skate at 2016 Audi Cup of China

This past weekend was the fifth of six events in the 2016-2017 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating--the 2016 Audi Cup of China, held in Beijing China. Now, if you have been keeping up with my "Ice Style" blogs here, you know that I have already discussed the costumes for Skate America HERE and HERE, Skate Canada International HERE and HERE, as well as Trophee de France HERE. In other words, I have covered most of the Ladies, Men, Pairs and Ice Dance costumes but...for this post I will cover (for the most part) costumes I have not discussed. Let's get started with the Ladies:

LADIES--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Elena Radionova Russia Short Program to Porgy and Bess by George Gershwin: I have not discussed this gorgeous costume worn by Elena Radionova of Russia for her SP until now. The black costume featured sequin and feathered details, as well as long sleeves and gloves. I think she looks MARVELOUS! Even if it doesn't really have anything to do with Porgy and Bess, it's a beautiful costume and I also love her small up-do bun hairstyle.

Elena Radionova Russia Free Skate to Turandot by Giacomo Puccini: For her Free Skate, she wore this dusty pink colored costume. This was delicate and very pretty for Elena. I liked the slight ombre shading and criss-cross diagonal sequin work. In a season filled with backless costumes and asymmetry, this dress seems a bit traditional and I'm still on the fence when it comes to those nude-and-silver-crystal gloves...What do you guys think?

Kaetlyn Osmond Canada Free Skate to Mimi Tells Her Story (from "La Boheme - The Ballet") by G. Puccini, arranged by K. Hocking and Sono Andati (from "La Boheme") by Giacomo Puccini : I've discussed Kaetlyn's Short Program costume HERE so now it's time to talk about this Free Skate one above. The red design does give hints of a 19th Century corseted dress with the neckline and front pointed bodice detail. It is definitely in line with what one would see in a traditional La Boheme opera:

This was a pretty costume which looked nice on Kaetlyn and paid homage to La Boheme.

Li Xiangning China Free Skate to Princess Mononoke by Joe Hisaishi: Princess Mononoke is a Japanese epic historical fantasy anime, in case you were wondering (I was!). Her costume looked just what I would assume a Figure Skating design of the anime character would be like. I like the crystal "teeth" on Li Xiangning's costume and mixture of white and brown colors. I wish her nude illusion would have matched her actual skin color better though.

Zhao Ziquan China Free Skate to Song of India (from "Sadko") by Nikolai Rimski-Korsakov: I LOVE this costume worn by Zhao Ziquan. The blood orange/red color of the design is so vibrant, you could see it from the nose-bleed seats!

I love the neon look and heavy gold sequin embellishment. this really is a gorgeous costume and one of the BEST of the season!

Elizaveta Tuktamysheva Russia, Free Skate to Peer Gynt by Edvard Grieg: I absolutely love the DRAMA, Goth-like look and dark fabulousness of Elizaveta's costume. There are slight nods to the iconic play (costume sketch above). Her costume is so chic, so red carpet fab. I love the plunging neckline, the gold sequins and batwing chiffon "cape".  Although, I will say that the batwing cape was slightly distracting during her skating. I think there is a way to achieve the same look but attach it so it isn't flying around and hitting her in the face during her skating and while she is landing those amazing triple jumps.

MEN-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Boyang Jin China Short Program to Spiderman: I loved this costume and you can read that HERE when I reviewed it for his 2016 Skate America skate.

Max Aaron USA Free Skate to The Lion King (soundtrack) by Elton John: OK, so I've discussed not being such a fan of Max Aaron's costumes--or lack thereof. For his Free Skate to The Lion King, here he a wore super-tight black pants (Man-leggings?) and a top with the "Lion King" emblem on it. This was effective in terms of the music he was skating to, and I do give him points for the little sparkle I see on the top but...it almost looks as if he went to a Broadway Theater shop and bought a sweatshirt and call it a day. Baby Costume Steps for Max.

Daniel Samohin Israel, Free Skate to The Illusionist by Maxim Rodriguez: Daniel is one of those male skaters "to watch" and in terms of his costumes, I am! The costume is graphic, a bit kooky and kinda fun! The costume itself featured multicolored--and striped--elements, as well as lots of crystals (Seriously: Look at that collar!). And then, there's the black and red gloves...

Oh Daniel...you're being Costume Cheeky!

For his Free Skate to La Strada by Nino Rota, Boyang Jin originally wore a black-and-white vest at 2016 Skate America to go with this look (lower photo). For the 2016 Audi Cup of China, that vest was nowhere to be seen. Do we call this an official "Costume Change" or "Costume Re-do"?

Patrick Chan Canada Free Skate Costume: I wrote about Partrick's FS costume HERE.

PAIRS-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Peng Cheng and Yang Jin, China Free Skate to Je Crois Entendre Encore (from The Pearl
Fishers):
This Chinese pair of Peng Cheng and Yang Jin skated to music from Bizet's opera The Pearl Fishers. The opera involves pearl fishers in a desolate seashore in India and she looked like a jewel coming out of the ocean in this aquamarine costume. I loved the delicate sequin work which was quite impacting in the front--and was also placed in the back. Close up, the costume looked expensive and of a high quality. On a not-so-positive note: I'm not sure why her partner wears an open tuxedo-like shirt; I'm assuming they wanted him to look "semi-fancy" but it was awkward. Although, I had more of a problem with how big his pants were; they could have been slightly tighter and more up to date.

Xuehan Wang and Lei Wang, China Free Skate to My Fair Lady: I absolutely loved these costumes worn by Chinese Pairs team Xuehan Wang and Lei Wang. The mix of blues--royal, navy and deep violets--looked exquisite on the ice. I also thought the delicate crystal detail--starting from her front shoulder and spreading to her entire back--was GORGEOUS! Oh, and yes, I liked his shirt and how it had elements of her costume in terms of crystal embellishments. Well done for both!

Mari Vartmann and Ruben Blommaert Germany Short Program to They Don't Care About Us by Michael Jackson: I loved the black and gold costumes worn by Germany's Vartmann and Blommaert. There was no question that they were giving a Costume Homage to Michael Jackson--with the epaulets, criss-cross straps. These could have gone tacky and campy, but they did not. Very nice!

ICE DANCE---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shiyue Wang and Xinyu Liu China Free Dance to New York, New York by Ralph Burns: The Chinese Ice Dance pair of Shiyue Wang and Xinyu Liu skated their Free Dance in these pink and gray looks. I thought her costume was pretty and effective. And his was sharp with that bit of sparkle (in the yokes and tie) and pink needed to make an attempt to seamlessly make them match nicely.

Victoria Sinitsina and Nikita Katsalopov Russia Short Dance to Blues: Love Creole by Duke Ellington and Swing: It Don't Mean A Thing performed by Tony Bennet, Lady Gaga--These two are beautiful looking, no doubt, and their costumes for the Short Dance are a mix of contemporary, blues and fringe-y fab. They looked fantastic, but I think they could wear Hefty garbage bags and I would probably think it's OK!

TRAVELING IN STYLE.....Milan Italy November 2016

Nick Verreos--Milan Cathedral Duomo di Milano, Milan Italy

A couple of weeks ago, I flew to Milan Italy for my NV Nick Verreos clothing line and appearance on QVC Italia. The trip was all business. But since I had such a short time there, naturally, I had to add a bit of pleasure--as in sightseeing. My one and only goal was to tour the gorgeous Milan Cathedral or Duomo di Milano . The night I arrived--after flying for like TWENTY HOURS+ from Los Angeles--I was happy that my hotel was located a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from the iconic Milan Cathedral. So....even with little sleep and a long flight...I had to get a selfie in front of the Duomo di Milano:

Selfie at the Duomo di Milano, Milan Cathedral Milan Italy

The day after my QVC Italia NV Nick Verreos Appearance , I got a free day to sight-see as well as shop and eat! (more on the food in another post!). This free day also happened to be the day after the U.S. Elections (yes, I was in Italy during the crazy Election Night!)...so I needed to visit Church...any church...for some sort of healing. I'm not religious but...I needed to be cleansed.

WHO WORE WHAT?.....2016 Latin Grammys Red Carpet

Jumpsuit Diva: Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad Haute Couture Fall 2016

The 17th Annual Latin Grammy Awards were held on Thursday evening at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. As usual, this is a big night for Latino/Hispanic artists and it was broadcast live on Univision. Being that it is the 17th year, the red carpet has gotten a little better in terms of what the stars are wearing; in the past, it was usually a Prom-and-Pageant Scene. Thank goodness that more stylists are being used and getting in the groove, influencing some of their clients to look more "Cannes Film Festival" and less like they are dressed to go to their nieces Quinceañera. But that still didn't stop some of the Latin Grammys stars from looking like they were in a Miss Venezuela pageant.

Here's some of the Fabuloso and at the end, some "Ay Dios Mio!" clunkers...

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad Haute Couture Fall 2016: Jennifer Lopez was performing with her former hubby Marc Anthony. during the 2016 Latin Grammys and she did a FABULOUS job. Before all that, she stepped onto the red carpet in this deep violet sequined jumpsuit from one of her favorite designers, Lebanese Couturier Zuhair Murad. The jumpsuit is from his Haute Couture Fall 2016 collection. If one were to order this, it would probably set you back about $85,000. It's hand made and made-to-order and each and every one of those beads and appliques, hand sewn. On the runway, the mode wore it with leather purple belt. I'm glad JLo didn't. Naturally, La Lopez looks fabulous, from head to toe (just look at the perfect length of that jumpsuit!

Jennifer Lopez in LaBourjoisie: For her performance, she wore this asymmetrical ivory sequin and feathered design from Kuwait-based brand La Bourjoisie by Antoine Salameh . The line is a favorite of Britney Spears as well as Miss Kendall Jenner, who just wore one of his dresses for her 21st Birthday bash. Not sure where he is getting his funding to create such expensive designs or high-profile press (maybe he's Kuwaiti royalty?!) but whatever it is, it's generating him fabulous pr.

Roselyn Sanchez in Gareth Pugh Spring/Summer 2016: The co-host of the 2016 Latin Grammys was the gorgeous Roselyn Sanchez. For her red carpet appearance, she wore this red dress from British avant-garde designer Gareth Pugh and his Spring 2016 collection. The model wore it as a one-shoulder look while Roselyn opted to give it her own unique off-the-shoulder touch. I though she looked muy bien! And kudos to her stylist for choosing a design from such an avant-garde designer--and one of his most simplest UN-avant-garde ones!

Roselyn Outfit Changer: Roselyn made several outfit changes during the evening which is of course, natural, since she is the Co-Hostess with The Mostest. Roselyn Sanchez wore the designs in the photos above including a white gown from Australian designer Alex Perry (center) as well as Anthony Vaccarello (far right). She looked fabulous in all of them. Roselyn was definitely one of the Best Dressed of the night.

Chiquinquira Delgado in Alejandro Fajardo: Former "Miss Venezuela Flowers Queen 1990" Univision TV host and partner to Jorge Ramos looked every bit a "Miss Venezuela" Red Carpet Diva in this powder pink colored ballgown from Venezuelan designer Alejandro Fajardo . The strapless gown featured obvious boning details and an attached overskirt. She looked beautiful and I also loved how she decided to go very modern and relaxed with her hair and makeup--to counterbalance the overt "Pageant"-like supergown. One of the best dressed!

Ariadna Gutierrez in LaBourjoisie Antoine Salameh: You might recall this gorgeous beauty--Ariadna Gutierrez. She was the "Miss Colombia" at last year's "Miss Universe" whom host Steve Harvey wrongly announced as the winner. Well, yes kids, she's still SUPER GORGEOUS and she attended the 2016 Latin Grammys wearing this ivory sequined-and-netting gown from Kuwait brand LaBourjoiesie by Antoine Salameh. This is the same designer that Jennifer Lopez wore during her performance with Marc Anthony.

Alejandra Espinoza: "Ale" as she likes to be called, was the first Nuestra Belleza Latina back in 2007. She hosts a Univision reality show and singing competition called "La Banda". I liked her golden column gown featuring tiny sequins and banding. The design had Art Deco-like details and fit her perfectly. I love that it was also the perfect length: See--NO shoes visible from the front! Her slicked back hair and makeup were perfecto!

Aleyda Ortiz in Stephen Yearick: Aleyda is yet another former "Nuestra Belleza Latina" (from 2014) and she's also a model, TV host and singer. I liked her blush colored sequined gown form Wedding Dress designer Stephen Yearick. It looked very Elie Saab Lite. The color was beautiful for her and that sequin applique work, exquisite. The only critique I had was how saggy her boobies looked; I just didn't like the look. She needed inner corseting to hold the "Hermanas" up.

Nastassja Bolivar: Here we have another former Nuestra Belleza Latina (from 2011) attending the 2016 Latin Grammys. She was also Miss Nicaragua 2013 (It's the Latin Grammys so you KNOW there's going to be LOTS of Pageant Ladies!). Nastassja wore a strapless gown from Rubin Singer, an Austrian-born designer based in the US who has done lots of costumes for singers such as Beyonce and Alicia Keys. I thought she looked chic and Gown Goth.

Angelique Boyer in Vero Diaz Mexico: French-born Mexican actress Angelique Boyer is girlfriend to the other Co-host of the 2016 Latin Grammys, Argentina-born telenovela actor Sebastian Rulli. She wore this interesting design from Mexican designer Vero Diaz. The ivory netting gown featured sequined appliques, a caplet and mini dress underneath. It was a lot but it kinda worked--kind of--in an almost tacky-licious way. I wish the bottom half wasn't that and instead just a beautifully elegant column gown. It just seemed to have almost everything-and-the-kitchen-sink. And yeah, those visible 8 inch wide horsehair trim at the hem is a gown trend I'd rather see die a timely death! Por Favor.

Clarissa Molina in Alejandro Fajardo: Yes kids, we have another Pageant Gal. This time it's Clarissa Molina, "Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2015" and "Nuestra Belleza Latina 2016". She wore this white gown from Venezuelan designer Alejandro Fajardo . While I admire the super sexy silhouette (especially when you have Clarissa's body!)--and it fits her perfectly!--there's still a lot happening, distracting the eye. I'm just not sure she needed that super high side slit AND the jeweled sequins...

If there was no slit and no sequins, this would have been muy bien. But then, I would have also asked her to NOT wear those tacky black pumps. Ayyyy Dios Mio!!!

Uh Oh!----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Laura Paussini in Antonio Riva Milano: Italian singer Laura Pausini wore this black and white striped gown on the 2016 Latin Grammys red carpet. The strapless silk mikado gown was from Antonio Riva, an Italian designer known for his bridal designs. Honestly, I have a Love/Hate relationship with this gown. The me of 1993 would have LIVED for this gown. In fact, I might have designed something very similar to it. But, it's 2016, and I've learned a couple of things regarding designing and especially for the red carpet. This would have been a fabulous gown for a "Miss Venezuela" in 1993. But for the 2016 Latin Grammys, not sure.

Becky G in Walter Mendez Walter Collection: Singer, Rapper Becky G wore this dress at the 2016 Latin Grammys red carpet. The design was from Walter Mendez Walter Collection, a designer based out of LA. I wasn't a fan. This was very 1995 in it's micro-mini dress under an overskirt design. I get that Becky G is short and therefore might need some maximizing--with showing her legs and all. But, I think there are other ways of doing this. The golden gown featured sequined lace appliques that gave the gown a cross between a Mother-of-the-Bride look and Marie Antoinette High School Musical. On a good note, her date was hunky Sebastian Lletget , LA Galaxy soccer player. #JustSayin

Lourdes Stephen: Univision TV Host Lourdes Stephen wasn't a former "Nuestra Belleza Latina" winner but she wore a gown suggesting that she was! She wore this raspberry-colored sequined gown with a dramatic cape. I like the drama of it all but, it's just a bit too forced and Miss Universe-Meets-Sheikha Moza. It's Too-Mucheey for her.

Leslie Grace: Singer-songwriter Leslie Grace wore this to the 2016 Latin Grammys red carpet. Oh Leslie! Double slit and black panties. Mija! It's tacky-licious. On a good note: I do like her hair and makeup. And the fact that no stripper platform heels were worn. But otherwise, this dress looks like something a former Porn Star/Stripper would wear, for one of her movie premieres.

Maia Ocando: Univision correspondent Maia Ocando wore this getup from GLAUDI by Johana Hernandez at the 2016 Latin Grammys red carpet. The one shoulder copper-and-black zebra printed mini dress featured a ruffled neckline. Maia styled it with black Goth platform boots. One word: Yikes! This is neither fashionable nor Latin Grammys stylish. I'm guessing she was trying to go for a "I'm at a Music Event and Want to Look Cool!". Not so mucheey.

Chino (Jesus Miranda) of Venezuelan pop duo Chino y Nacho with his girlfriend Venezuelan Natasha Araos--I came across this photo of Venezuelan singer Chino (of "Chino y Nacho") and his apparent girlfriend, a beautiful young woman by the name of Natasha Araos. From what I gather, she loves posting photos of herself on social media and is a fitness fanatic, and well, this is what she wore for the 2016 Latin Grammys, a dress by Valentino Ferro. I get that she LOVES her perfect .00003 % fat-free body and works hard to attain it but...this gown is TRAGIQUE Tacky. If I didn't know better, I would have thought they were both porn stars. Seriously.

Finally...

Jacob Forever: I had no idea who this fashion fool was. So...I Googled him. He's a former member of a Cuban Reggaeton band "Gente de Zona" and launched a solo career in 2012 and is very popular in Latin America and Europe. OK. Got it. Anyhow...in terms of this fashion sense: Douche-Licious is the Theme. There are so many things wrong with this that I don't even know where to begin. So...I'll just leave it up to you guys to figure it out. Jacob Forever might think he looks cool here but in like three years, he's really going to be regretting it.

ICE STYLE.....Figure Skating Costumes Trend Watch: The Open Back Ladies

The Open Back Ladies: Figure Skating Ladies Costumes Trend Watch (L to R), Ashley Wagner (FS), Kanako Murakami (FS) and Ashley Wagner (SP)

If you are a figure skating fan, you know that we are in the fifth of six events that comprise the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating competitions for 2016/2017. So far, we've had Skate America, Skate Canada International, Trophee de France, Rostelecom Cup (Russia), and this weekend is the Cup of China. As a fashion designer and commenter--as well as figure skating aficionado--I have noticed a trend in the Ladies Costumes: An Open Back. Normally there are style/fashion trends that one might see every now and then in figure skating costumes, such as the longer skirts, the gloves, the infamous jumpsuits a la Carolina Kostner. When one watches the ladies competitors--especially in the senior level--one does notice a MAJOR bump in terms of design, quality and style, when it comes to their costumes.

Recently, especially within the top ladies, there is a sense that either they--or their costume designers--are A) Looking at Fashion Magazines (more than before!) and/or B) Looking to the Red Carpet for inspiration. This is clear with a trend I have noticed on lots of the top ladies in figure skating: There are tons of Open Backs in their costumes. This is very much a clear inspiration derived from the Red Carpet (where so many actresses are wearing open/plunging back designs) as well as what we are seeing on the runway (lots of open back gowns and cocktail dresses). I LOVE doing an open back for my NIKOLAKI gown designs (as you can see from the above photos) and so it's refreshing to see this high-fashion trend reach the figure skating costume world, more noticeably than before. Here are some examples:

Ashley Wagner USA Short Program costume to Sweet Dreams (Are Made of These) by Annie Lennox--I love this costume for being modern, fresh, giving a slight nod to runway Balenciaga and Balmain at the same time and also for the...

Open Back. The one shoulder-like design wraps around the back, exposing the open back. Yes, it's all still covered in nude illusion but...it's still an "open back" and very high-fashion.

For her Free Skate to Exogenesis Symphony Part III by Muse, Ashley wore this ombre lilac bedazzled number that was also...

Open Back! Love this costume and how it almost looks like they cut off a fabulous sequined Couture red carpet-worthy gown and well, then gave it to her! This time, this was truly an open back since there was no nude illusion netting covering it. This, by the way, takes TONS of fittings just to make sure that it holds on to her like a glove sans the illusion.

Gracie Gold USA--Gracie looks every bit an "Ice Queen" on this golden sequined costume that she wears for her Free Skate to Daphnis and Chloe by Maurice Ravel. The gold crystal work is exquisite as is the fit and very Haute style to this costume. And yes, she is part of the Open Back Figure Skating Costume Trend:

Open Back Gracie: As you can see from the photo above, the costume features an open back, very carefully fitted so there is no need for nude illusion netting. It's beautiful and sublime.

Mao Asada Japan: Mao Asada wears this Black Swan-like costume for her Short Program to Danza Ritual del fuego (from "El amor brujo") by M. de Falla. I think it's quite fabulous and I especially love the...

Very Open Back. Her costume features black with silver crystal applique that has been hand-sewn and curves delicately from front to her exposed back. It is covered with nude illusion but, in my eyes, it is still a very open back. Leave it to Mao Asada to be ON TREND!

Kanako Murakami Japan, Free Skate Costume to E lucevan le stelle (from "Turandot") by Giacomo Puccini--I love this costume worn by Japan's Kanako Murakami, it's subtle, elegant, red carpet elegant...all of it. And naturally, it happened to be....

Open Back. The costume design is BEYOND chic. I adore that curved open back, sequined torso and sleeves and ombre shaded bottom skirt.

Satoko Miyahara Japan Short Program to Musetta's Waltz Song by Giacomo Puccini--This was a very pretty costume for Satoko. The pastel color was delicate and almost Junior-like. And I did like the ombre shading of the skirt section. But I also noticed the...

Open Back. Satoko's costume featured a curved open back which was very much in line with the Ladies Costume Trend of the Season.

Kaetlyn Osmond Canada Short Program to Sous le ciel de Paris and Milord performed by Edith Piaf--Kaetlyn skated her Short Program to this French Icon Diva music of Edith Piaf. Her costume reflected a French fashion icon with the tie-neck detail blouson top effect--and those chic gloves. The back was...

Open! Even Kaetlyn succumbed to the Fashion Forces and opted for an open back when it came to her costume design. On trend and very iconic chic.

Mirai Nagasu USA Free Skate to The Winner Takes It All performed by Sarah Dawn Finer--This is a gorgeous costume for Mirai--very delicate, very "Ice Princess" and very "Haute". While it was giving a Perfect Ice Princess look from the front, the back...

Was all Red Carpet Couture Fab! I love how the back is open--without the need of nude illusion and that the nude illusion sequined yoke curves towards the upper back area, creating the wonderful shape. This was so beautiful!
