WHO WORE WHAT?.....2017 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet: Brie Larson in Rodarte

 Brie Larson in Rodarte

Brie Larson in Rodarte: Actress Brie Larson wore this fire-red colored gown from Rodarte. The strapless gown featured sequined and gathered chiffon bustier details and a full gathered skirt. The gown is very pretty and rather "Beauty Pageant"-esque, but in a good way! It fits her well and makes her waist look soooo SUPER TINY!

Lady in Red: Brie Larson at the 2017 Golden Globes Awards. Do we like her "Jessica Rabbit"-like makeup and hair?? What do YOU think of it...as well as her gown?

WHO WORE WHAT?.....2017 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet: Blake Lively in Atelier Versace

 Blake Lively in Atelier Versace

Blake Lively in Atelier Versace: Blake Lively was looking like an Erte illustration come to life in this black silk velvet gown from Atelier Versace, the Haute Couture arm of the famed Italian fashion house. The gown featured a fit-to-flare silhouette, a long dramatic train, Swarovski crystal chain-mail neckline, top and pocket embellishment and a front bust cut-out for a (slightly) plunging neckline view. This gown is fitted to a 1/4 inch of her body! Perfection. And in case you have never looked inside an Atelier Versace gown...you can trust that there is a whole boned under-structure sewn into the dress that is holding it all up!

Draped Chainmail: I love how the crystal chain-mail is cowl draped so delicately. Oh and yes, Ryan Reynolds looks sooooo HANDSOME! #Dreamy

WHO WORE WHAT?.....2017 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet: Hailee Steinfeld in Custom Vera Wang

Hailee Steinfeld in Custom Vera Wang

Hailee Steinfeld in Custom Vera Wang: Actress Hailee Steinfeld wore this lilac colored ballgown from designer Vera Wang. The iridescent silk tulle gown was custom-made and featured a full "Princess" skirt, cold shoulder sleeves, gathered details, a center front slit opening...and a back cape/train. Normally, all of those components would probably come out a big ol' Pageant Beauty Queen mess but...here this gown looks ethereal and I do LOVE this pose above! #GoOnGirl

Gathered Princess: If I had to remove something from this gown, it might be the sleeves since I'm not sure how necessary to the overall style they were but...I did like the draped off-the-shoulder aspect. What do YOU guys think of this gown on Hailee? Is it Pretty or Too Mucheey??

WHO WORE WHAT?.....2017 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet: Anna Kendrick in Vionnet

Anna Kendrick in Vionnet Spring 2017

Anna Kendrick in Vionnet Spring 2017: Anna Kendrick wore this gown from the French fashion house of Vionnet and it was designed by Goga Ashkenazi. The Grecian Goddess-style gown features a one-shoulder neckline, hand-pleated silk chiffon cupped busts and full silhouette...

Red Carpet Drama: I loved this gown for many reasons...it was red carpet fab, took up a lot of space (in a good way) and it was also vibing a 1930's/1940's look of "Old Hollywood Glamour". The lilac/gray color was sublime and I also loved her clean and sleek hair and makeup.

WHO WORE WHAT?.....2017 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet: Debbie Matenopoulos in NIKOLAKI

Debbie Matenopoulos in NIKOLAKI: The ever-so-fabulous Debbie Matenopoulos, co-host of "The Insider" Entertainment TV Show and Hallmark's "Home & Family" wore one of our NIKOLAKI gowns at the 2017 Golden Globe Awards Red Carpet...

Red Carpet Fabulous: The gown is a color-blocked column style gown in black/golden creme/raspberry colored silk/wool zibeline fabric and features pleated sides, a plunging neckline, as well as side pockets...

We Love Debbie: I think I am a little bit biased since I co-designed this gown with my NIKOLAKI partner David Paul but...I think she looked GORGEOUS! Modern, chic, and can we discuss THAT TEENY TINY WAIST!!!

FASHION SCHOOL WITH NICK.....How to Drape a Bias Dress

Bias Draping: Nick Verreos "How To Drape a Bias Dress"--Fashion School With Nick Verreos YouTube

ATTENTION Fashion Draping Aficionados!!! Next on my "Fashion School With Nick Verreos" YouTube videos, it's time to show you How to Drape a Bias Dress! A lot of people have asked me to show them how to drape a bias dress so...I thought "well, why not add that to my 'Fashion School With Nick' video repertoire!". I decided to add a little bit of interest to my Bias Dress Drape by...

Making it a cowl front neckline (above photos)--"Fashion School With Nick Verreos" YouTube, How to Drape a Bias Dress

As well as...

A semi-plunging cowl back! (above photos). Notice that I also included examples of my own NIKOLAKI gown designs that are bias dresses...just for your visual enjoyment--and also as examples of what bias-cut gowns look like--"Fashion School With Nick Verreos" YouTube, How to Drape a Bias Dress

PROJECT RUNWAY.....My TOP 5 OMG MOMENTS: Ep. 14 Finale

Nick Verreos YouTube "Top 5 OMG Moments" Episode 14/Finale Season 15 Project Runway

Last week was the New York Fashion Week Finale Episode of Season 15 "Project Runway" on Lifetime Network. It was down to the Top Four: Rik, Laurence, Roberi and Erin. In case you missed the episode last week and were completely OFF THE SOCIAL MEDIA/Facebook Grid--you might want to click on another site now. But...if you are on the "up and up": The winner was Erin Roberston , the fresh-out-of-art/fashion-school designer who loved COLOR, unusual EMBELLISHMENTS and SEQUINS...and ultimately, Banana prints!

Who Was My Favorite? Well, you'd have to click below to watch my "Top 5 OMG Moments" YouTube Video to find out--as well as read my RECAP on MyLifetime.com "Project Runway" Blog (keep reading here). But...I know that Erin's win has caused a big uproar on Facebook/Social Media with lots of fans saying that Runner-up Roberi Parra was "robbed" and that he should have been the winner. His collection was superb and well done. It was merchandised and styled beautifully and looking back, it maybe, maybe, maybe was better than Erin's in its subtle design nuances. But...as I sat there at the New York Fashion Week show watching it, Erin's collection was an instant "Wake Me Up" moment! It was Fashion with a capital "F"--whether you liked it or not. Many people are saying "I just wouldn't wear this...or that..." Well kiddies: It probably wasn't meant for you! It was a collection designer for the Erin's of the World and I still feel that her collection was the clear winner of the show, by just being more CURRENT, bolder, fun and creative. But, yes, Roberi's was outstanding. I'm sure we'll see him on "Project Runway: All Stars" next season soooo don't worry, I'm sure he'll be back and maybe win and make everyone happy! He'll be the "Mondo" of Season 15.

Click below to watch my "Top 5 OMG Moments" of Season 15 "Project Runway" Finale Episode:

#1 OMG! It's NY Fashion Week!  We have finally arrived at New York Fashion Week! I was excited to attend the show this year and see the collections LIVE...

New York Fashion Week Seatmates: Nick Verreos at the Season 15 Project Runway New York Fashion Week Finale Show with Season 14 Winner Ashley Nell Tipton (top pic) and Runner-up Kelly Dempsey (lower pic)

Nick Verreos with some of Season 15 "Project Runway" Designers (L to R): Linda Marcus, Alexander Snyder, Ian Hargrove, Kimber Richardson, Brik Allen and Tasha Henderson--New York Fashion Week, Skylight at Moynihan Station NYC

It was also a special treat when I found out that I'd be seated next to last season's Winner, Ashley, as well as Runner-up Kelly from the Deli! Now, I'd like to give a little perspective on how DIFFERENT it is to view these collections as a guest at the runway show, as opposed to watching it on TV. Surprisingly, while you're there, the collections can look less refined and you might notice janky zippers or wonky hems...But this season, all 4 collections were POLISHED and mirrored what you as a viewer saw on TV. OK, now let's get to THE COLLECTIONS...

#2 OMG! Laurence Went to the Light...But Should She Have? Throughout the season, I LOVED Laurence's sharp shouldered leather Cool Girl aesthetic...Then, for her New York Fashion Week collection, she decides to "Lighten" up creating slouchier, Sporty-Chic looks. I did LOVE the first leather jumpsuit and the brocade jacket ensemble but the rest just needed more BAM! While I understand the thought process of wanting to surprise the judges, I wished she would have stuck to what she had done all season long!

Last week, during Tim's home visit , I noticed a rack of fabulous, colorful, sharp garments behind her (photo above)....and I kept thinkin' "What Is That? Hello!" After seeing her actual Finale Collection, I wondered if she should have shown that instead!

#3 OMG! Rik's Cohesive Bandits! Last week, I was worried about Rik and what seemed a lack of cohesion. Well, HE DONE DID IT! His collection WAS cohesive, looked like it was all one girl and had a great Hipster-Meets-Rocker-Mod "Bandida" vibe. My favorite looks included the 1st black patent leather dress. I also loved his Moto Vest, especially the paisley and yellow-and-black ones.

And Thank DIOS he got rid of those black and white leggings he had previously shown on his 3-Look Preview. She went from Figure Skating Ice Dancer (above pic, left) to Super Cool Girl in the Arts District of Downtown LA (above pic, right)!

#4 OMG! Uptown Roberi! Roberi's collection was the biggest surprise to me...And a nice one! I have to admit that while sitting there at the New York Fashion Week show, it didn't make such an impact, but watching the looks come down the runway on TV: Muy Bien! I loved how he mixed the masculine with the feminine in combining lose army-like jackets with colorful iridescent skirts. Some of my favorite looks included the olive coat and pink skirt outfit modeled by the Gambian Runway Diva, Ya Bi. I also loved the green shaved fur bomber with cropped blue pants...

And can I just say how FAB-U-LOSO those red strappy heels were (photo above) !? This definitely was an Uptown Fashion Pr Gal ready for cocktails!

#5 OMG! The 15th Winner of Project Runway Is.....ERIN! 14 Episodes, 12 Challenges, Trips to Orlando and Austin, several Unconventional Materials Challenges later and We Have a Winner: Erin! OK, as I was sitting there in the audience and Erin's collection came out, it was like "No More Phone Calls Please, We Have a Winner!". The exaggerated shapes (so on-trend!), the colors (Fab!); the unusual embellishments, the MOODY bag...and a Hand-Holding-a-Banana Print? I mean COME ON!! My fave looks were the pink cold-shoulder neoprene dress, the bronze organza sequin blouse with pink leather skirt and I especially ADORED that pink ruffled peplum top with highlighter yellow pants. The collection was fun, playful, unique and woke up EVERYONE attending the show! Congratulations to Erin, Lover of Color, Unusual Sequins...and, Bananas!

Now...Here is my MyLifetime.com RECAP of the Finale Episode of Season 15 "Project Runway":

Season 15, Episode 14 Recap: Ready, Set, Finale!

The end is near…the end is HERE! Yes, it’s the finale of Season 15 “Project Runway”! The last time we saw our final four designers, they had received a verbal beatdown from the judges, telling—no, yelling—for more COHESION, COHESION, COHESION! In my last recap, I thought that Rik was in the most trouble, with Laurence a close second. Meanwhile Roberi and Erin seemed to have the least to be worried about. Let’s see what changed, and what did not. Time for my final recap of the season!

It’s two days before the finale runway show and following the three-look preview, Tim meets the designers backstage. At this point, he usually takes out his notebook and begins the “you need to do this, you need to do that” talk. Yet today, it was all pretty simple: a trip to Mood, anyone? With a resounding yes, the designers are off for their final shopping excursion to get the necessary materials that will take them into a more cohesive state of mind.

Post-shopping, Tim checks in. Rik explains that he was trying to “design everything… giving you options.” Indeed, but it was too muchy. He has decided to keep his looks all one length (Bueno!) and show a little more skin (Muy bueno!), and he’s adding one garment, a patent leather dress. Tim wisely encourages him to let go of the initial vision of each of the looks. Let it go, Rik!

Laurence tells Tim that she is making a chiffon blouse to cover the midriff on her low-slung pants and Erin is making a top, as well as using the embroidery machine. Tim warns her to...

BEST WESTERN.....Go. Get. Glam. Contest: Winner #3 Justin: BLOG, VIDEO, SKETCH

Travel Guy--Best Western Go. Get. Glam. Contest Winner #3 Justin and Nick Verreos Good-to-Glam "Travel Style" sketch

For the third Best Western Go.Get.Glam. winner, I was excited to style a guy! Yes, a GUY! In his photo, Justin honestly described himself in the following manner: “I’m overweight so when I wear layers for fall and winter, I look even bigger and rounder.” Before I even read what he said—and only looked at the photo—this is EXACTLY what I thought! His clothes do look too big and too slouchy, which—even he admitted—made him look bigger than he actually is. I have just the right travel style advice for Justin and any man of his build to still look stylish while traveling, yet feel warm and comfortable…and even look slimmer!

Click below to watch my personalized "Travel Style" Good-to-Glam Travel Style sketch for Best Western Go. Get. Glam. Contest Winner #3 Justin on YouTube:

THE COAT: First, get rid of any slouchy, loose clothing. Why? It adds weight. You can wear semi-fitted clothing and still be comfortable; it’s all in the fabrication and styling. Fabrics have come a long way, and a fitted coat can have a tiny amount of stretch or be made of softer woolens that can almost feel as comfy as wrapping yourself in a blanket, albeit a more stylish one! In the photo, Justin’s choice of a bomber-type jacket is all wrong; the silhouette makes him look...

BEST WESTERN.....Go. Get. Glam. Contest: Winner #2 Samantha: BLOG, VIDEO, SKETCH

From Grungy Hipster to Fab Hipster--Best Western Go. Get. Glam. Contest Winner #2 Samantha--Nick Verreos "Travel Style" sketch

As part of the Best Western Go. Get. Glam. Contest which I was part of, the winners would get--among other fabulous prizes--a personalized Good-to-Glam Travel Style sketch from me! First, we chose three winners, then I took a look at the photo they submitted and sketched a "Travel Style" outfit I envisioned for them as a way to take their travel look up a notch...or two! In case you missed it, HERE is my sketch and blog of our 1st Winner Linsday, and now here's Winner #2 Samantha:

Click below to watch me sketch my "Travel Style" Good-to-Glam Transformation for the Best Western Go. Get. Glam. Winner #2 Samantha:

And here is my description of her outfit via the Best Western YouMustBeTrippin.com Travel Blog:

Nick Verreos Travel Style Sketch for Best Western Go. Get. Glam Contest Winner #2 Samantha

For Samantha, the second winner of Best Western’s Go.Get.Glam Contest, I wanted to take her “Travel Style” ensemble from Good….to GLAM! I loved her own distinctive “cool girl” look but wanted to elevate it. I tried to seize the essence of her own style—as seen in the photo that she submitted—and make her more sophisticated. I imagined Samantha as an up-and-coming Fashion Blogger/Insta-star, so when traveling, she had to project the part!

The Sweater: First, I knew that I wanted to start her look with an “Item Piece” and to me, this was a loose, on-trend “Boyfriend Sweater” in a bold color, and then build the rest of her outfit around it.  In terms of the color, I chose a muted chartreuse, which is a definite “color of the moment” and makes a nice statement for a cool travel outfit. The sweater itself is comfy, slightly oversized, with pockets of course, and extra long sleeves that she can scrunch up for a more relaxed yet stylish look...
