Room 143 review and release blitz
This was a nice, solid book. It wasn’t dramatic, it wasn’t angsty, or emotional, anything over the top.I did feel it was a little one note, and was expecting something more to happen, but I enjoyed what did.Nash is a solid character, his loss palpable.Caroline was fine. Nothing special but I liked her.I did especially like Bailey, and I think she’ll be a fan favourite.
This book is a great, quick, drama-Free read. Give it a go!

Following the sudden death of his wife, Nathan Bell has spent nearly two years burying himself in work and neglecting his biggest responsibility: his daughter. Overcome with guilt, he wants to connect with little Marley, but he doesn’t know how to do it alone. And then Jenna Savage throws him a lifeline.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A single mom of twins, Jenna is more than capable of taking care of Nate’s adorable two-year-old, and wants to help Nathan however she can. Soon, attachments are made, forcing Jenna and her kids into new territory. And the closer everyone becomes, the more right it feels.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Falling in love forces Nathan to face his biggest fear, and when hearts, both big and little, are on the line, the only thing scarier than needing someone is losing them all.

XO review and release blitz, Melissa Jane
This book was not what I was expecting. It kind of reads as two books and I’m not entirely sure it completely works.I found this book, especially the “then” parts to be slow. The language choices at times didn’t suit the age of the characters and there’s a generous sprinkling of British slang despite the book being set in America. If this book is truly to be a second-chance romance, the past section takes up too much time which then leads to info dumping in the current section. I also found connections weren’t really explained. I would’ve loved some background into Jase and Jacob’s relationship, it seemed like a good one, but it’s kind of glossed over.I also didn’t especially like Vicki. She seemed entirely unconcerned about her best friend’s wellbeing and don’t get me started on the rest of the wedding party. That bit was all a bit disconnected for me.So in all, an okay book.
I would also advise a trigger warning might be needed for those who are sensitive to rape, violence against women, and suicide.

Cupid’s match review, Lauren Palphreyman
3.5 stars.
I really liked the concept of this book, it’s something novel and new.Unfortunately the writing lets it down. What it really needs is a good edit. There’s a TON of passive writing here, which usually doesn’t bother me, but this comes across as unsophisticated and a little bit immature. If it was tightened up it would vastly improve this novel. Story wise I also think it’s a little simple, but I’m not entirely sure of the market. For a true YA audience it would be okay.I liked Lila, and i loved Cupid, but I did want their relationship to be a bit more heightened. I really enjoyed the banter between him and Cal but again there needs to be more. While I appreciate what the author is doing with all the cupids having C names, it does tend to get confusing, as do normal characters with names starting with the same letter ie. James and Jordan or whatever the other dude’s name was. Sorry, I’m terrible with names.
This is a solid novel, with some tightening and a good edit it could be something great, but it’s not there yet. Sorry.

Excerpt
He’s so close now, all the ridges of his abs underneath his shirt are visible, and it’s almost making me want to reach out and touch them.Stop this, Sam. Just fucking stop it.“You make me laugh,” he mutters, placing both hands on the windowsill behind me, caging me inside his arms once again.Goddammit.“You piss me off,” I reply.“Keep telling yourself that,” he quips. One of his hands slides from the windowsill to my hand, and I freeze. His warm hand feels like lightning shooting all over my skin as it travels up my arm.“You should know better than to taunt me,” he says, leaning in to whisper in my ear. “I like scared little girls … like you.”His tongue dips out and grazes along the rim of my ear. A chill runs up my spine as he places his other hand on my knee. The oxygen is knocked right out of me when he slides it upward along my thigh.“You’re a dirty girl, aren’t you?” he whispers, adding a groan that sets my body on fire. “I like that.”His hand creeps up my red and black checkered skirt, fingers curling underneath the fabric of my panties.Shit. Shit. Shit. Why am I letting him do this? He’s the bad guy.He groans again, tugging at the elastic to pull them down. “You’re a filthy … little … thief.”RIP!In one quick pull, he’s torn them straight off.I gasp in shock as he holds my panties in his hand, wearing a victorious grin on his face.“What the—?”He brings them to his face and takes a whiff, a delicious moan grumbling in his throat.“I’ll hold onto these,” he murmurs, stuffing them into his pocket. And after a dirty look, he turns around and walks off.“What?” I mutter, ignoring the throbbing sensation between my legs.He glances at me over his shoulder. “Consider it a down payment … I’ll give them back if you give me those pictures within a day. And if you don’t, I’ll find more creative ways to tempt you.”So that’s what this is all about. Extortion. I should’ve known, shouldn’t have been so gullible to assume he’d ever feel something for me. Playing with lust as though it’s a goddamn tool.I spit at him, but it lands on the floor. “You’re a disgusting piece of shit, Nate Wilson.”He doesn’t even look at me when he says, “Believe me, I know.”Then he closes the door on me.

Magic man release blitz and review, Jamie Schlosser
I liked this book. It’s not too big on drama, heavy on the love, but I like that. Its sweet while still being hot.Casey is a strong single mother trying to do her best.Gus is adorable and I liked that he wasn’t bound by gender norms here.Jay was great. I’m a sucker for characters with flaws and bad pasts. I loved seeing him with Gus especially. As I said, this book isn’t heavy on drama, but isn’t all hearts and flowers either. It’s real and I like that. If you want something real, this is the book for you!
