The Chronicles of Narnia is a series of seven fantasy novels by C. S. Lewis. It is considered a classic of children's literature and is the author's best-known work, having sold over 100 million copies in 47 languages.[1][2] Written by Lewis, illustrated by Pauline Baynes, and originally published in London between 1950 and 1956, The Chronicles of Narnia has been adapted several times, complete or in part, for radio, television, the stage, and film.
Set in the fictional realm of Narnia, a fantasy world of magic, mythical beasts, and talking animals, the series narrates the adventures of various children who play central roles in the unfolding history of that world. Except in The Horse and His Boy, the protagonists are all children from the real world, magically transported to Narnia, where they are called upon by the lion Aslan to protect Narnia from evil and restore the throne to its rightful line. The books span the entire history of Narnia, from its creation in The Magician's Nephew to its eventual destruction in The Last Battle.
Inspiration for the series was taken from multiple sources; in addition to adapting numerous traditional Christian themes, Lewis freely borrowed characters and ideas from Greek and Roman mythology as well as from traditional British and Irish fairy tales.
The books have profoundly influenced adult and children's fantasy literature since World War II. Lewis's exploration of themes not usually present in children's literature, such as religion, as well as the books' perceived treatment of issues including race and gender, has caused some controversy.(less)

You do…more I am proud of my ability to set the goals and achieve them against very high odds. The last four years have been a major learning experience. You don’t know-what you don’t know. Overcoming what you don’t know in an industry focused primarily on the experienced long term winners, perhaps 2-3% of hundreds of thousands of published authors is a monumental, almost unrealistic challenge assuming your goal is to be among the top 2-3%. Don’t hold me to this number but I believe that I recall that there were about 490,000 books published in calendar year 2015!!(less)

Gerard Dion Q. What motivated you to write the book in Cuba unchained?
A. I had Long believed that the embargo and other restrictions to normalization between the US and Cuba was largely based on the voting power of the US Cuban expatriates living in South Florida who have not wanted the issues settled diplomatically. The influence of approximately 1 million voters has politicized this issue of almost 60 years. As a result, 10,000,000 Poor Cubans have been victimized by Republicans, democrats and Cuban leadership for decades.
Most US citizens do not know the history or understand the issues relating thereto and it's very negative, unnecessary effects on ordinary Cuban citizen. I thought someone should try to tell the story in a way that was interesting and educational.
