When There are No Words 🌻

Friend, how's your heart? No, really, how are you doing? If I'm honest, I don't have many words this week. All I know to do is to sit in the Presence of my Abba and share His Word with you.

Presence is a theme in the Bible. When speaking through His prophet Isaiah, God shared an encouraging word for His people in chapter forty-one, "Fear not, for I am with you." Nine chapters later, Isaiah reveals: "The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary...

A Guiding Light 🌻

Today is an important day in the nation where I live.

Two hundred and forty-nine years ago, the United States was declared to be an independent nation.

A hundred and sixty-nine years before this historic moment, a covenant was made with God in Virginia Beach, Virginia by members of an expedition led by Pastor Robert Hunt.

Here is the prayer as documented by 1607covenant.com.

"We do hereby dedicate this Land, and ourselves, to reach the People within these shores with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and ...

Words from the God of all Hope 🌻

Happy Week 70!

Join me this week as I sit in the words of Jesus. His Words lay out a foundation for Revealed Hope.

As you read each word, see yourself at His feet. Your Rabbi is speaking.

#hopeisrevealed and His Name is Jesus!

Enjoy!

"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:33-34

“Come to me, all you who are ...

Hope in an Uncertain Future 🌻

"I don't know." Three words that have the power to be both terrifying and liberating at the same time. Terrifying when we feel the weight of responsibility to have all of the answers. Liberating when we relinquish control into the Hands of the One who does.

Here's another fun fact for you. I am the oldest of five girls.

I consider it an honor to walk alongside these beautiful women. There was a time, however, when I was terrified because I didn't always know how to answer their questions. When I w...

A Matter of Choice 🌻

Speaking of decisions, have you heard this one? "Scattered, smothered, and covered."

If you live in the southeast, this world-famous answer can be heard in every Waffle House. When a person sits at the table and places their order, the waitress knows exactly what they want—an order of hash browns, crispy and scattered, smothered with onions, and covered with melted cheese.

Once upon a time, I would have enjoyed this concoction of crispy yumminess, but as I've grown older, I've made choices that've...

Flaws and All

When the Lord placed on my heart a desire to write, I had to admit to being greatly intimidated. If it weren't for my husband, who encouraged me that even the greatest writers were rejected, I may have missed out on a beautiful opportunity. Stephen King was rejected thirty times, which led him to throw a manuscript into the trash. His wife subsequently found it and resubmitted it to a publisher. Many authors struggle with perfectionism. J.R.R. Tolkien never truly considered his work finished or ...

Living Revealed | Share the Gospel

This week, I come to you from Atlantic Beach, North Carolina. Today is the last official day of my vacay, but I wanted to share something special that I am working on.

As The Revealed Book Series unfolded, I received a beautiful gift from an excited reader. She shared how Revealed Truth helped her in hard conversations with her small group girls.

While I set out to share a story to encourage those stuck in cycles of fear and anxiety, the Lord rolled out a beautiful gift of discipleship through eac...

Pocket Prayers 🌻

Have you ever sat in silence, wondering what to say to God? What is prayer, exactly?

Prayer is talking with God.

Prayer is drawing near to the One who formed you, knows you, and loves you very much.

Prayer is powerful.

Prayer is believing your Audience of One is listening and working.

Prayer gives comfort and peace.

We know these to be true, but have you considered how these apply to the creative collaborators in your life? Here are some helpful promises from God's Word:

"As iron sharpens iron, so one ...

Investing in Conversations 🌻

Who loves a good discipleship discussion? Today's Fun Fact comes from the Wesleyan Life blog: 8 Fables and facts about discipleship by Kerry Kind.

I love a good group conversation. Pull out God's Word around a table of Jesus followers, and I've found heaven on earth. Discipleship was never my cup of tea until 2010, when I watched a group of ninth-grade girls show me how it was done. I'm telling you, the Lord has His hand on the next generation!

If I'm honest, I was a bit intimidated as I had ne...

Finishing Well 🌻

You can thank Wordshake for today's fun fact; however, I would like to add one word to this short sentence:

"I am finished!"

That's right! Revealed Courage is fully edited, formatted, and ready for distribution on June 1st.

As I sit in gratitude over all God has done in and through these books over the last three years, the Lord brings me full circle to Proverbs 16:3:

"Commit your work to the Lord and your plans will be established."

Once upon a time, starting a project was easy, but finishing was di...
