Be Fruitful and Multiply

God placed on my heart a deep love for the unborn. Several years ago as a friend was travailing for a child and another was struggling with her pregnancy, God gave me a vision that I will never forget.

As a child develops in the womb it is protected. Every cell formed and perfectly housed in what God calls the “secret place.”

Have you ever been in a secret place? You feel safe and warm.

As the child grows so do his senses. He begins to feel, see, hear. The heartbeat of his mom is a bea...

Awakening in the Garden

I know, I know, 2020 was a difficult year; however, may I submit that it was also a year of revelation? We've been praying for an awakening, perhaps our prayers are being answered?

Awakening : Rousing, quickening. The act of awaking from sleep. A revival of interest or attention. A recognition, realization, or coming into awareness of something. A renewal of interest in religion, especially in a community; a revival.

Would you agree that we have experienced an awakening? Perhaps not what we th...

The Overflow

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭15:13‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I had a dream- a vision of rows and rows of glasses as far as the eye can see. Each one tightly connected to her neighbor. Above each row was another. Glasses neatly stacked so that two supported one.

My Friend would encourage me to step back and see the masterpiece before me. A beautiful multi-colored pyramid. As the Hand en...

Is Peace Possible - Transcending My Understanding

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 4:6-7

Before we answer the question is peace possible- the question “is peace real” must be addressed.

Answered prayers have a way of ushering in peace. Joy filled me in ways I cannot even begin to explain when I recognized th...

Saying Goodbye

The clock is ticking with reminders of the new year that lies before us. I sit pondering a new year but must take a moment to reflect on the old.

The 10’s were the hardest yet the most defining years of my life. After my Father drew me back to Him, He proceeded to transform me. Truly, they were my decade of the Chrysalis.

I find the butterfly a fascinating creature. One of the only creatures unrecognizable from birth to adult. Perhaps our Creator gave us a beautiful example in nature of what ...

Why Prayer- In His Presence

It was a hard day. The stress I carried was wearing me thin and the burdens weighing me down. In these moments my first instinct is to find a quiet place and crawl into it. The Lord is changing my heart. We see Jesus withdrawing to quiet places quite often. But His action and mine are quite different. While I find quiet places to hide, Jesus finds quiet places to pray. “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Luke 5:16 The Lord is encouraging me to follow His example. On this n...

7 Ways to REST in the Lord for 2019

As 2018 winds down, I ponder this season of winter- a season of healing and a season of listen. That was my word for 2018- LISTEN. As I understand, spiritual seasons of winter are for hunkering down and listening to the quiet whispers of our God. You will not find Him in the chaos, but in the quiet above the chaos. Consider the space above the clouds when the storm rages below. Not a physical place, mind you, but a place of peace. If you’ve shared in any of my musings this year, I hope that y...

Why Prayer?

I’ve read quite a few posts of late from people who reject the idea of “thoughts and prayers.” I get it. When a tragedy occurs, it can often sound flippant for someone to lay these words down without any action behind them. However, it is in the action of prayer that I would like to sit for a moment, if I may. Let’s begin by defining prayer: Prayer is first and foremost an act of worship to a Holy God. "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name," Matthew 6:9 Secondly, prayer is a conversati...
