My 2011 Script Frenzy script: Codename, TheLibrary

Steacie Science and Engineering Library at Yor...

Yes, just one word. TheLibrary. Why? Well, because I want to name a key thing within the book that and my husband says it's stupid. (He may be right. This happens from time to time.) But, in my head, I keep thinking of this story as the one with "TheLibrary" in it and so I believe it will make a serviceable nickname.

What's it about? I'm going to give you exactly as much of a hint as I gave on my Screnzy profile.

Kindle meets Kindling.

If you're saying, does ...

Popping in for updates on TLOTO, MLP: FiM, hand pain & Screnzy

The gif above represents me popping in. I would call this a post of quickies but I know that's going to be an absolute lie. I'm only on the first sentence in this post has long massive update written all over it. ;-)

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

Can you believe, as long as I've been using this dictation program, that it still doesn't know I want it to capitalize My Little Pony? It's like it barely knows me at all. Anyway, there's a new My Little Pony show on television...

How many words are in 100 pages? Is Script Frenzy less words than NaNoWriMo?

Blank Sheet of Paper

If you're a veteran of NaNoWriMo, one of the biggest questions you may have about Script Frenzy is how many words do I have to write? Even though Screnzy is based on the number of pages you write, for many of us judging our progress by word count is a habit and you may find it easier to track your progress that way. You may also be wondering how it compares to NaNoWriMo's 50,000 words in a month goal.

There is no hard fast rule about how many words per page you'll be...

What is a logline? How do you write one?

The last movie

Image via Wikipedia

Wikipedia says:

A log line or logline is a brief summary of a television program or film, often providing both a synopsis of the program's plot, and an emotional "hook" to stimulate interest.

But for many of us, that isn't enough info to get started on writing one.

I love this quote about it from TheScriptLab:

The thing is, in Hollywood, nobody reads. Scripts live and die everyday from "the pitch". And there's a big difference between a logline used to...

Get a professionally designed poster for your Script Frenzy script before it's even finished with 30 Posters, 30 Days

NaNoWriMo veterans may have heard of 30 Covers, 30 Days, which is a November challenge run by The Office of Letters and Light. While the rest of us toil to write our 50,000 words, 30 designers take on an even crazier task: designing a book cover for a not-even-finished-yet NaNoWriMo novel for every day in November. You can see the results of past year's 30 Covers, 30 Days here.

But this year, for the first time, they're extending this idea to...

Help me raise money for the Earthquake in Japan by bidding on books and banner ads to benefit the Red Cross

I wanted to do something to benefit the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and, after I made a donation on my own, I thought it might be nice to see if I could raise a bit more with your help. So I've donated some stuff and created three different eBay Giving Works listings with 100% of the final price going to the Red Cross so they can do some good in that region.

To sweeten the deal, the bidding on every listing starts at lower than the actual retail price so...

Is this something? (Would you be willing to do me a favor and read something for me?)

I've always wanted to do a series on this blog called "Is this something?" In my imagination, the way this works is I post excerpts from work in progress and I ask you where you think it's going and whether it's worth my time. I always thought it would be a great way to get some feedback , create more of a community feel to this blog, and help to make readers of the blog feel more invested in my various works in progress.

Unfortunately, I'm really weird about sharing work I...
