The cold is dead. Long live. . . no wait, on second thought, stay dead.
So I finally shook my cold. Oh, and for the record, I am sorry I scoffed at my husband for the Afrin addiction thing. It is not only totally real but also scary as heck. I was no longer sick and my nose was closed completely for two days which is scary as hell. So, you know, lesson learned. But I have weaned myself off it and can breathe again which is awesome.
But as I reentered society today as a well person, I felt like Well Hillary came back into the office only to find that the temp, Sick H

Boy, do I miss breathing
I have been nursing a cold since last Wednesday. I foolishly thought I was better this morning and, while the sore throat has, luckily departed, the clear nose I was feeling was only the after affects of my 12 hour Afrin which wore off shortly thereafter and left me a mouth breathing miserable nose-less thing.
My husband is always preaching about the dangers of using Afrin too often because apparently you will lose your sense of smell and your nose will bleed for the rest of your life or somethi

Man, I don’t blog for days and then I bombard you, don’t I? Sorry about so many posts in a row but I am going to be really busy at the end of the week so I am trying to front load all this promotion stuff for The Author now so I am less swamped later.
So after much ballyhoo I managed to create a teaser trailer for The Author. Please keep your expectations low. I had no actors and only Microsoft Movie Maker with which to throw this together so while I am impressed that it came out as good as it d

I’m randomly in a book. . . that I didn’t write! I’m quoted in Magic Words: A Dictionary
So I have been waiting rather (im)patiently for The Author Kindle Edition to show on Amazon which it should be doing any moment now and I am not afraid to admit that I was doing a little bit of obsessive refreshing of the Amazon search results with the vigor of a 3 year old chanting “Are we there yet?” when I came upon something cool.
Magic Words: A Dictionary by Craig Conley quotes The Love of Three Oranges. Specifically, under the definition of “poof” appears the following illustrative quote:

The Author release status (printed book and podiobook)
So, according to the tracking number, I should have the final proof of The Author in my grubby little hands by the end of this week. This means that, barring any huge changes or other glaring errors, The Author will be ready for sale in less than a month, hopefully closer to 2 weeks. I will, of course, post as soon as Amazon starts taking pre-orders which may be as soon as next week.
Now, weirdly enough, the audio for the podcast of the novel is ready to roll and has been for a while. I’ve been

Are you good at life?
I used to have a friend in college who, when she was drunk, instead of the cliche "I love you, man!" would go around parties telling people that they were good at life.
I have always really liked that phrase. In fact, my Facebook About Me right now reads simply, "I am good at life." I mean it as a joke mostly just because I like that line but, in all seriousness, that is how I feel. I feel like I am pretty darn good at life so far.
I think we can all think of someone off the top of our head who is
