Inspirational Writing Quote of the Week
"The act of writing is an act of optimism. You would not take the trouble to do it if you felt it didn't matter." -Edward Albee
Boy, does this quote speak to me. I am always struggling with telling myself writing is important when there are so many other things I have to work on all of which have the potential to make me more money but I always come back to this gut feeling that tells me what I am working on is worth it somehow.

Inspirational Writing Quote of the Week
"Each juggler should be trained in the ignorance of the laws of physics." -Stanislaw Jerzy Lec
There has to be a certain amount of ignorance or just plain delusion in writing. It's the delusion that people would want to read what you have to say, sure. But, more than that, it's ignorance of just what you are in for.
If you knew how much work, how much drama, how much of a royal pain in the neck writing a book is upon starting, let's be honest, you probably would never have started it in the first
Inspirational Writing Quote of the Week
"The reason 99% of all stories written are not bought by editors is very simple. Editors never buy manuscripts that are left on the closet shelf at home." -John W. Campbell
Damn right! I always look to this quote when I feel like it is impossible to get anything published.
Most of the people who talk about how hard it is have never actually done anything more than leave their book in a drawer.

In a shocking turn of events, my calendar is actually somewhat inspiring today
Quickly, someone draw up plans for a ski lodge in Hell because that shiz is freezing over.
You guys know my terrible calendar?
Check out today's entry:
There is something about summer days that really does feel lazy. July is a good month to experiment with doing only what is very, very essential and letting other things go.
We busy women have difficulty distinguishing the essential from the important, the important from the "needs to be done," and the "needs to be done" from "it probably doesn't r

Inspirational Writing Quote of the Week
"You have to know how to accept rejection and reject acceptance." -Ray Bradbury
I've wanted to do this for a really long while so I'm really going to try to stick with this and do a quote a week. If nothing else, reading them inspires me so hopefully it will do the same for whoever is reading.
I read a ton of Bradbury short stories in high school but only rediscovered him recently when I read Something Wicked this Way Comes.
I really like that quote above.

except it be a woman old
I haven't posted a random spam message in ages but this one deserved a special mention for it's sheer randomness. Here we go:
Subject: except it be a woman old;
could twist the sinews of thy heart? here, at his watch, gave him the chance of earning the children walking two & two in red & blue & green the children walking two & two in red & blue & green
How sweet! Someone harnessed the power of spam to send me bad poetry! Don't think I didn't appreciate it, y'all. Seriously, this was all there was

psychic phone tag
A client contacted me a few days ago and I called, once and then twice before she finally called me back today. In between these calls was totally radio silence.
When I finally get her on the phone, the first thing she said to me is, in a dazed sort of way, “We’ve been playing phone tag for so long.” Now our voicemail has been acting up so I immediately said, “Oh, did you leave me a message?” because I wanted to know if it was still busted. I realize that with her not knowing this probably made m
