Work To Be Done

Luke 10

2 Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

There is a lot of work to be done for the kingdom of God. There are people who need to be taught the word, people who need prayer, and the elders need the young to help them. However, workers for God have become few and far between. Everyone wants to reap the rewards of being a Christian, but they don’t want to do the work. You can’t reap rewards without first putting in a little work. There are many souls out there who need to find the hope that we have in Jesus. There are so many that need prayer. We have already received the greatest reward, and that is our salvation. So, it is time to put in some work and share our reward with the lost and help them find Jesus. It’s the least we as Christians can do. Jesus did die for our sins.

A Free Gift

Ephesians 2:8

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

The great gift God ever gave to us was our salvation. It was a gift we did not deserve, but yet he gave it to us. All you have to do to receive it is to accept Jesus as the son of God and have faith that he died for your sins. It is so simple to do, and once you do, you are welcomed into the family of God

THROWING A FIT

Proverbs 12:16

A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame

It is simple, when something does not go your way or something messes up, do not throw a fit. Simply stay quiet and figure it out. Do not act like a child because something did not go your way in life. Act like an adult, and how a Christian is supposed to act.

God Is Good

Psalms 73:1

1 Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.

Even on your worst day, God is good. When your bills are stacking up, God is good. When you feel tired and beat down, God is still good. You woke up this morning, you were able to breathe, and Jesus died for your sins, giving you eternal life. So, no matter how hard or bad life gets, God is always good.

He Will Multiply

John 6:9
9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

Ever needed a bill paid, and when you pray for God to help, and when help comes, it is not enough money? You are probably like the disciples and think God it is not enough. We forget that God can do anything. I’m sure that when the disciples saw such little food for so many, they thought there was no way. However, Christ took that little bit of food and fed everyone with some left over. So, if God sends you five dollars when you need fifty, don’t complain. That five dollars is only the beginning. Just like the five loafs and two small fish and fed a multitude.

Remade On The Potter’s Wheel

Jeremiah 18:4

4 And the vessel that he made of clay was marred in the hand of the potter: so he made it again another vessel, as seemed good to the potter to make it.

John 16:33

33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Do you remember when you became a Christian? You felt like nothing could affect you. You were on cloud nine. Then you went under attack from the enemy. You begin to face more troubles than you ever thought. However, as you overcome each obstacle, you become stronger. You feel closer to God. That is because each tribulation you face and everything that breaks you down, God takes you and builds you back stronger. God will take the weaker parts of you and throw them away. He is the potter, and sometimes it hurts when he removes the parts of us that we don’t need. But, you have to climb up on the potter’s will and let God do his work.

Faith In God

Mark 11:22-23

22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Whatever you are facing in life, no matter how big the problem seems, or how impossible victory seems, know that if you keep your faith in God, you will make it. The enemy wants you to believe that God will not come to your rescue. The enemy is a liar. Our faith can move mountains because the one who are faith is in created the world. Don’t ever underestimate the power of your faith. Keep the faith and don’t let the enemy shake your faith.

Start With A Firm Foundation

Luke 6:49

49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.

The word of God is like an instruction manual. If you follow it, you will know that before you build your walk with God, you must first get your foundation set. You do that by accepting Christ. If you do not start with the foundation, you can try and build a walk with God, and you will fall flat on your face. You have to start at the beginning. Then, you can start building by studying the word of God and praying. Reading the teaching of Christ and applying them to your life. All you have to do is start with the foundation.

Under Attack But Never Defeated

Psalms 41:11
By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me

So many times, Christians will ask God why is he letting the enemy attack. They will tell God how they have served him and think that he should stop the attack. They never stop to think that they are under attack because they serve God. They also never stop to think that even though they are under attack, the enemy is still losing. God is protecting you from defeat. It may be a hard battle, but if you hold to God, you will win.

Chosen

John 15:16

16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

We did not choose God. He chose us. God decided to call us to him and give us his love. He chose to send his son to die for our sins. He chose to forgive our sins. God chose to give us the calling that he had for us. So, when you think that you chose to become a sunday school teacher, choir leader, or preacher, because you love it so much, you are wrong. God put that desire in your heart for that calling. He chose that calling for you before he ever pulled at your heart to come to him.
