He Will Multiply

John 6:9
9 There is a lad here, which hath five barley loaves, and two small fishes: but what are they among so many?

Ever needed a bill paid, and when you pray for God to help, and when help comes, it is not enough money? You are probably like the disciples and think God it is not enough. We forget that God can do anything. I’m sure that when the disciples saw such little food for so many, they thought there was no way. However, Christ took that little bit of food and fed everyone with some left over. So, if God sends you five dollars when you need fifty, don’t complain. That five dollars is only the beginning. Just like the five loafs and two small fish and fed a multitude.

S. Daisy Beautiful reminder. I was actually just talking about these verses the other day, when I did a study of Jesus being tempted by the devil. It puts things into a different, better perspective.

Jesus' 40 days of fasting have ended. He is tempted, the devil suggesting that he could easily turn the rocks into loaves of bread. Keeping in mind the story of the loaves and fishes and the story of turning water to wine, we know he can easily do it, and we know HE knows he can easily do it. That multiplies the temptation so heavily! And yet Jesus refuses, choosing to sustain himself through God alone.

I know in his shoes, I would have given in.
