From Town to Town

Mark 1:38

38 And he said unto them, Let us go into the next towns, that I may preach there also: for therefore came I forth.

Where and when should we discuss church? Should it only be when we are setting in the pews of our churches? No, we should talk about the goodness of God in the grocery stores. We should be proud of our savior while setting on our jobs. Christ did not teach in one place. He went from building to building and from town to town, spreading his message. He didn’t force his message on people, but anywhere he could He would teach. So, stop thinking church is the only place to talk of God, he is the creator of the world after all.

Are You Giving For The Right Reasons

1 Corinthians 16:14

Let all your things be done with charity.

When you do things in the name of charity, it is not to boast of yourself, it is not for a tax write-off, nor is it to make yourself feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. When you truly act in charity, you become completely selfless. You pray for others and never ask for anything in return. You will give money to the poor and never talk about it. You will quietly drop food on a neighbors porch and never let anyone know what you have done. Christians are supposed to act in charity. So, have you done things in charity, or have you done them to make yourself look better?

Unfair

Hanukkah 3:17-18

17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:
18 Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation

Your car will run out of gas. Your bank account will run empty. You will wake up to your water heater gone bad. Yea, life is not fair. It seems like every time you turn around, life has thrown you a curveball. Well, that doesn’t mean you throw in the towel. It only means you pray harder. You study more. Most of all, you praise God more. Life will never be fair to Christians, but that is okay because we win in the end.

Nothing But Your Soul

1 Timothy 6:6-7

6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

You can have a million dollars when you die, and it will stay in your bank account. You will only walk into judgment with your own life to be judged. So stop worrying about what you can achieve in life and instead worry about what come next and that is the judgment.

Expect To Recieve

James 4:3

3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

When you go to work, do you not expect a pay day? When you plant a garden, do you not expect to reap the harvest? It is like that with God. We pray for an answer, but sometimes we do it thinking we will not get an answer. If you are doing to work for God and praying for an answer, expect to receive it. However, it will not always be the answer you want. God has a reason for this. So when you ask God for something, be ready for an answer.

God Is Not Done With You

Philippians 1:6

6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Chris

God has begun a good work in you. He has not completed it yet. He is getting you ready to walk into heaven and stand before him. So, when you feel like you are useless, God has use for you. When you feel unloved, God has more love for you than you can imagine. When you feel like you can’t go on, get up and keep going because God is not done with you yet.

Resistance

James 4:7

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Why do we overcomplicate things? We think that we must beg God to help us with the devil, or we have to fight him and all his temptation. All we have to do is resist him. When temptation is placed before you simply choose not to do it. Yea, you may think it is hard, but if you resist the temptation, it is no longer a temptation. So, stop thinking it is a complicated process to overcome the enemy and just simply resist the enemy.

Stop For A Minute

1 Thessalonians 5:18

18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Stop and take a minute. No matter how bad you day, week, month, or year, you have been having just stop and give thanks to God. You may think that is crazy to do in a bad time. It is the best time to give thanks to God. If you can’t think of anything to tank him for, simply thank him for your salvation. Thank him for giving you life. Thank him for loving you. Just stop take a moment and thank God.

Don’t Be Looking At Other People

1 Corinthians 7:2

2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.

Do you know how you keep a marriage together? Do you know how you keep temptation out of your marriage? It is simple, keep your eyes on your spouse. Don’t be out there looking at other people trying to figure out if you could do better. That means men are to be married to one wife. That means even if she gets to weigh four hundred pounds. You married her. Women are to have one husband. It doesn’t matter if he gets a gut and his hair falls out. When you take your vows, it is not only a vow between husband and wife. It is also between the couple and God. So, remember your vows and keep your eyes off of other people.

Indecision

Hosea 10:2

2 Their heart is divided; now shall they be found faulty: he shall break down their altars, he shall spoil their images

You will come to times in your life to where your heart is pulled in different directions. You won’t know which way to go. It’s does not matter that one way is for God and the other direction is for the world. It may be hard at times, but follow the path that is of God. Make the decision that would please our heavenly Father. Don’t let indecision cause you to stumble. Always pick the path that leads closer to God.
