Finding Identity in God

Finding Identity in God

I recently had two calls recently with coaching clients and both surfaced gaps in understanding and embracing identity. These gaps prevented them from living in alignment with who they are, creating dissonance in them and stopping their progress.

What Is Identity?

By identity, I mean how God designed you. Your gifts, strengths, personality, and every other trait that makes you unique. Who you are is key to deciding what you do and why you do it.

Glory In a Mirror – 2 Corinthians 3:18

Glory In a Mirror – 2 Corinthians 3:18

How is your vision? Do you see 20-20? Or do your eyes need some help?

Our freedom that was mentioned in yesterday’s episode helps us to begin to see the invisible. We broke our world and therefore we have trouble seeing the things of God. But they’re there.

What does it mean to be looking “as in a mirror?” And how does our transformation become visible? God is transforming us to be part of how he becomes visible in our world.

Serving Others is Worship to God

Serving Others is Worship to God

Serving others is the epitome of work culture. Every day, we wake up with intention to best determine how we can solve the problems that others may be facing.

From the foundation of the world, God thought about how to solve our problems. His Son, Jesus, became the ultimate example of service when he became the sacrificial Lamb.

Yes, Jesus’s death was an act of service to free us from the wages of sin which, according to Romans 6:23, is death.

Jesus is the literal example for how to live life.

Curiosity Can be a ‘Good/God’ Thing

Curiosity Can be a ‘Good/God’ Thing

Everyone’s heard the saying “curiosity killed the cat.” A similarly disparaging saying dates back to AD 397 when St. Augustine wrote “… In the eons before creating heaven and earth, God fashioned hell for the inquisitive.” Both expressions paint a bleak picture of the outcomes when someone dares to be curious.

But There is Another Side to Curiosity That Shouldn’t be Ignored.

Merriam-Webster defines curiosity as “an inquisitive interest in others’ concerns” and an “interest leading to inquiry.” Curiosity is what arises when something grabs our attention, causing us to pause, observe, and wonder.

Let Your Light So Shine

Let Your Light So Shine

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 5:14-16, ESV)

As representatives of Christ, we always have to be mindful that we bear his image.
