Know What You Believe: Sure-Footed Faith

Know What You Believe: Sure-Footed Faith

The world and its contradictions to the Word of God can be loud. The systems of the world are often trying to convince us to believe in something other than Jesus and what the work of the cross accomplished.

It is because of this that we must be sure of our faith in Jesus. If we don’t have our own personal beliefs, the world will surely try to give us something to believe in.

Our View of God Affects How we Relate to Others

Our View of God Affects How we Relate to Others

If we were to ask a stranger on the street to divulge their life story to us, we’d probably be surprised to hear what they’ve gone through and overcome. While I don’t recommend doing this, it could prove a valuable lesson. Every single person has something they’ve lived through that has helped to shape and mold who they are, how they relate to God, and how they relate to others.

For some, we’ve stared into the eyes of some circumstances that have forever changed us.

Jesus: A Lesson in Servant Leadership

Jesus: A Lesson in Servant Leadership

During my second year of college, I joined a fellowship program. One of the requirements of the program was to also take a course component for the fellowship. The course was on servant leadership. I’d never heard the term before, although I suppose that would make sense for a young adult only a few years removed from their parents telling them what to do. Still, the concept of servant leadership intrigued me.

‘I thought leaders simply lead?’

‘How does a leader serve?’

I never asked these questions aloud, but I pondered on them.

Being Spirit-Led During ‘The Resignation Era’

Being Spirit-Led During ‘The Resignation Era’

The Great Resignation and the State of Our Workforce

The Great Resignation has claimed millions since its 2021 conception. I am included in that number. I was introduced back into the workforce in 2020 after a three-year hiatus. Being that the position was customer service, it came naturally to me, although some aspects of the job were quite challenging. However, I rose to the occasion and excelled, given the circumstances. Management noticed my talents, and offered me a full-time position.

The Two Errors of Work-Life Balance

The Two Errors of Work-Life Balance

Lately, I’ve become more aware of the compartments I tolerate in my life. Often, when we talk about faith and life integration, we begin with a faulty assumption. That faulty assumption then becomes the basis of all of our logic.

We all know about work-life balance, or the idea that we must balance the different areas of our lives in equal measures. The theory goes that if we spend too much time, money, or energy on any one area,  we get out of balance.
