Ambassadors for Christ Part 3 – 2 Corinthians 5:19

Ambassadors for Christ Part 3 – 2 Corinthians 5:19

Have you ever had a strained relationship? Did you ever get reconciled?

So here’s our definition of the ministry of reconciliation. God reconciled the world to himself. The way he did that was by not counting our sins against us. God is just. He can’t forget our sin and remain who he is. He came up with a plan. Jesus would take the penalty for us.

And we would be trusted with the message of reconciliation.

Ambassadors of Christ Part 2 – 2 Corinthians 5:18

Ambassadors of Christ Part 2 – 2 Corinthians 5:18

What does it mean to reconcile? Are we now reconciled, or being reconciled?

Jesus removes our debt. The obstacle to our reconciliation is God’s justice. Our sin must be paid for. By paying for the sin of the world, Jesus removed that obstacle. The moment we trust Christ, we’re reconciled. But there is still work to do. We still must tame our flesh. We don’t just keep living the way we always did.

Ambassadors Of Christ Part 1 – 2 Corinthians 5:17

Ambassadors Of Christ Part 1 – 2 Corinthians 5:17

What does it take to become an ambassador of Christ. What is an ambassador anyway?

An ambassador represents the king or the ruler. We represent the King of the universe. Do you ever consider what that means?

First, let’s talk about what has to happen before we become ambassadors. Step one is we must become new creatures. When we trust Jesus, he makes us new. Our old motives are gone. Our drive begins to switch to being motivated by God.

God’s Promise For Us – 1 Peter 5:10

God’s Promise For Us – 1 Peter 5:10

Do you notice what causes you to throw in the towel?

We discovered yesterday that battling the devil isn’t avoiding failure. We battle the devil when we love others. Whether we fail or succeed, we will suffer, and struggle. We live in a fallen world.  We can get all wrapped up in our own situations and our circumstances.

But in the end, God will perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish us. We see the promise in this verse.

How is Your Margin? Part 2

How is Your Margin? Part 2

This post was written by Michael Pfau of Crossways Life Coaching, LLC. To connect with Michael, see the information in the bio at the end of this post.

Last month I shared about the importance of having margin in order to perform at your best. The truth is that we can’t control most of the events in our lives, but we can control how we show up in life.

Focus

The four areas that we all need to focus on are spiritual health, mental and emotional health, relational health, and physical health.

Our Calling At Work – 1 Peter 5:9

Our Calling At Work – 1 Peter 5:9

What are we called to do when we’re drawn into a battle at work?

I like to talk about the universal job description. Some people ask for God’s direction and right here, we have a universal job for all Christ-followers. One of our key jobs is to resist the devil, firm in our faith knowing that in whatever way we suffer, others are enduring that same challenge elsewhere in the world.

We can always resist the devil.

Waiting on God – Luke 24:49

Waiting on God – Luke 24:49

How are you at waiting?

I don’t wait well. But God has time for everything.

The disciples had to wait for Jesus to be ascended before they received the Holy Spirit. But for everyone else, we receive him the moment we believe. The power of the Holy Spirit doesn’t come by itself. It comes from the ascended Lord Jesus. We receive the Holy Spirit and the everlasting life and power of Jesus.

My Redeemer Lives – Job 19:25

My Redeemer Lives – Job 19:25

How confident are you of God?

Imagine living the life Job lived. It got pretty messy. He lost his wealth, family, and his health. I can’t even imagine. But in the middle of that, we have this verse.

“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.”

If we really understood what he’s aware of, and what he’s capable of, we would live differently.

On Screwing Up – Matthew 25:15

On Screwing Up – Matthew 25:15

Do you ever wonder what God thinks or does when we screw up?

I often say that my mess ups are baked into God’s plan. We know God knows everything based on several verses. One is 1 Chronicles 28:9. King David tells Solomon that God understands every plan and thought.

This passage is another. In this story, the land owner gave to each according to his ability.

That landowner is God.
