What's The Problem With Doing It On My Own?
The problem with doing things on your own is this; you have NO CLUE how much easier it is with someone who has "been there done that."
Now if the quickest way between two points is a straight line, why would you zigzag (which is sadly, what I found that most people do)? Sure you could figure things out on your own (eventually), but why waste your time?
So here are some quick unconventional insights into why you would want someone like a mentor to help you along:

Will It Work?
In my book, "The Poet and the Billionaire" there are three questions that "The Billionaire" shared with me that he thought EVERYONE should ask themselves before proceeding with a new idea/business venture.
What are they?
1 – "Is anyone else doing it?" He proceeded to tell me that if someone else is doing it, then you probably don't need to. I'm not talking about preventing yourself from writing a book because there are a MILLION authors out there. I'm talking about writing a book that hasn't be

What Everyone Wants
My girlfriend just got off the phone with an online company she purchased clothes at. As I was barely coming to (from an afternoon nap – sorry I had a long week), what I couldn't help but notice was how excited she was about her particular experience in dealing with this company.
Now, from a business perspective, this was one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life (what she proceeded to tell me within seconds of just getting off the phone with this company she just dealt with).

Can't Find a Job? Great!
Here are some quick unconventional insights into what you can do ASAP to move forward with your life:
1 – Sell something.
That's right. Go into the garage, your crawl space, or extra closet with the clothes packed in there from YEARS ago and go to a place like; Craigs List, Cross Roads Trading Company, have a garage sale, etc.
Whenever I did this, there is a sense of rebirth that comes from getting rid of a TON of stuff that you have been hanging onto and just don't need anymore. Speaking from

To All Major Employers
I am stealing your employees! Why? How? It's really quite simple. This is what they tell me:
1 – You don't pay them what they are worth.
2 – You value them based on how they look, more than what they can provide for your company.
3 – Most of them have some AMAZING blogs, a huge fan base, and you don't even realize how much they can help or hurt your company.
4 – They operate on the philosophy that says, "If the company doesn't care about me, then why should I care about the company" (giving them

Is Anyone Singing About You?
A few days after I posted, "Word of Mouth Advertising" I had gotten an email from a friend that had shown me one of the most hair-raising video's that illustrated exactly what I was talking about in a previous blog.
Two things that you want to pay attention to is the amount of people that saw this video and the lyrics.
It's pretty simple, huh? I'm just wondering what kind of repercussions to one's business or personal life something like this might have on someone?
Question. If someone were to si

The Power of Small is Big
It's hard to believe that it's been about 10 years since I sent the first email to, "The Billionaire" to help me move forward towards where I thought I wanted to be. I honestly don't remember what I originally said, and as many know, the conversations we had never meant to be a book (the reason behind the subtitle, "A Personal Journey of Conversation"). But perhaps the greatest thing to come of it, is sharing it with people like you, and hearing from those that are continuing to benefit from t

Increasing Your Odds
When I was being represented by an agency for acting/modelling, I had about a 1 in 30 chance to "book" something.
What about my agency? They had a 30 in 1 chance someone was going to book it. Which would you prefer, and how can you improve your business and personal life so that the odds are in your favor?
1 - Don't control things you can't control.
2 - Control the things you CAN control.
3 - If you can't turn the odds in your favor, come up with ways that INCREASE your odds by;

Is it REALLY "The Economy?"
If I gave you $100,000 dollars WHERE would you spend it? It's a great question that I feel deserves a good look and no one seems to be talking about it (so I thought I would bring it up here). Why? Because so many people are blaming it on "the economy" and I just feel like that's a LIE!
Look… there is no question that we are ALL getting a certain amount of money from somewhere, the only question is… WHAT are WE doing with it?
So back to my question on what you would do if I gave you $10

Your Word. It's All You Have.
I think this is one of the most important and overlooked things today; "your word." Your word is ALL about following through on an engagement, a meeting, a show, a lunch, a service or anything with ANYONE on a specific day or time that you each commit to. Pretty simple right?
Just recently, someone taught me a BIG lesson on this, after confirming two speaking engagements with professional organizations. Asking someone close to me to take off a day to help me to sell books in the back of the ro
