All Those Who Love Monster Girl Bundles Have been Updated

So anyone who has bought a copy etc can now re-download it and get the updates. Nothing major was changed, just a bit of dialog as well as error fixes.

I thought about doing a complete collection but went against the idea. It's still kind of early since I ended the series just last month.

It also seems I really won't be able to release anything this month. I thought about releasing a Monster Girl Carnival Bundle, but I kind of want to get out of the habit of using bundles in general honestly.

Unless it's for a plot heavy series that continues from novella to novella at the very least.

Where do you go to find your books?

I've always interested to see where readers discover my stuff. Do you discover it via word of mouth, via searching through a specific section on amazon or from Goodreads etc?

It's an interesting topic that I don't see talked about a lot. I often get them via word of mouth from twitter, or if someone made a good review on Goodreads.

However I know I am in the minority when it comes to that.

Progress is somewhat slow.

Progress on my next Novella has been somewhat slow. I am only about 50% done, with that said I really wasn't planning on releasing anything this month.

So if it does get done before the months end that would be great. A lot of stuff has been coming up and I don't have as much time to write as I would like.

With all that said, I think this next novella series will be enjoyable, especially for those who liked Lord of Dusk.

I got my first 1 Star review.

It was, rather weird to say the least. I was expecting it to happen sooner or later, but I didn't expect it to sting this much. Or rather, it is a rather strange feeling that I can't really describe.

It hurts and makes me worried, but at the same time the review itself told me barely anything that was wrong with my writing.

If they had attacked it, stripped it down bare and pointed out every flaw in my writing I'd be a wreck. However the review was so short and basic it didn't really leave a lasting impression.

Though, it's not really about that. Rather I am kind of glad it happened, because I know I will be getting more 1 star reviews in the future.

The fact that I went nearly 3 years into my career without one just meant I was lucky.

A fellow writer once told me that you sometimes need a thick skin and he often would avoid even reading reviews. While I don't think I could go that far, I should try to get a thicker skin

Follow Up to the Amazon E-mail

So I got a reply from Amazon, I am mostly sure it is a stock reply saying my account is in good standing. Which is well...good, I also hope this means I won't be getting any more nasty surprises this month in terms of my page reads since they've been really good.

Once again, I don't know how fast they can track false accounts down nor do I know if they can even track them the same month the scammers start doing their thing.

Regardless I am actually pretty happy with the outcome at the moment. While they didn't answer my question directly at least they told me my account/current reads were legit.

I'll share more info if I get it.

So Amazon sent me an interesting E-mail

Apparently someone has been trying to either use my titles to manipulate or either steal them from the Amazon/KDP. Which may have resulted in improper reads and sales.

This makes me...nervous for obvious reasons. One being how many of my reads/sales are proper and from people who actually enjoy my work?

Last month was amazing, but I just found out 1/4 of those sales were false and it is devastating. Even this month has been pretty good, but I don't know if those reads/sales are real anymore.

Please, if anyone is actually doing this, don't. Even if you think you are helping the author you just making them look shady on top of giving them messed up expectations.

Instead of the $300+ I thought I was getting, it is closer to $260, if that.

My next Novella might be slightly longer.

My next Novella might be slightly longer. Usually my novellas are around 25k-30k. However this one might be around 35K if I want to get all the major story beats and introductions out of the way.

I was a bit nervous about writing it at first. However I think I'm starting to get into the flow of this story. I really hope everyone enjoys it.

Also, don't worry, I'm also working on another Monster Girl Carnival, though it probably won't be released until late July.

I also might work on another Ears and Tail Required if I get the chance.

How long is too long for the first Sex Scene?

I've been thinking about my recent Novella and the new series that I'm writing, and while writing it I realize that I was 5000 words in before the first sex scene.

Despite not seeming like a big deal, it made me think. Would people wait that long? Not everyone like the more story focused stuff like Lord of Dusk etc, and usually at most it is about 3000 words before someone starts shagging.

So this longer gap makes me worried that people may lose interest before getting to that point. So much so that I might release something for my other series first before focusing on something new like this.

Also, on an unrelated note.

Those Who Love Monster Girls 1 is free on Amazon for the next 5 days.

Did my first Commission in awhile

It wasn't terrible or anything like that, but I can really see why I don't do them often. There is an undeniable amount of pressure compared to my normal writing. Even more so if it's about a subject I may not care much about.

It's still fun, even if it tends to eat up a day or two of my time. In fact, the reason I wasn't able to do my blog post yesterday was because I was working on it.

I'm also still working on the next Novella, like I said I don't know if it will be out this month or not. I will keep working on it in the background and see how the pieces fall.

A part of me wonder how some of my artist friends are able to do commissions back to back. Though it also might be due to the fact that commissions aren't my main source of income from my writing is why I find them a bit of a drag to do.

May 29, 2018

Been trying to get out more.

As much fun as writing is, staying in the house all day is never the best for your mind. So recently I've been trying to go out more, walk around the beach and do other things.

It's mostly just to get me more excited for writing.

Also, my next Novella series is going to take place in Canada. It's going to be an interesting location to write for since well...I'm not from Canada.

I always wanted to write about different countries, and this is going to be a test to see if I can actually do it or not.
