You Still Live (Overcoming Grief Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Dervis Vadisi: 100 Promissory Sonnets
After your month long battle for breath,
Today I place you in nature’s lap.
I know she’ll care for you well,
like she once brought you to the world.
Fact of the matter is, you still live,
just in different form among the elements.
Nature’s forces make us awake and restless,
Nature’s forces coerce us into eternal rest.
There is no heaven, there is no hell,
these are concepts made by cowards.
Life is too sacred to be confined
by obsolete lies and superstitions.
Your light of affection shall continue
to shine bright in my memories.
You who was, nay, is like my second mother,
I won’t say goodbye, for you still live.

Life is too sacred to be confined
by obsolete lies and superstitions.
Your light of affection shall continue
to shine bright in my memories.
You who was, nay, is like my second mother,
I won’t say goodbye, for you still live.

Plenticultural (Sonnet 1434) | Abhijit Naskar | Dervis Vadisi: 100 Promissory Sonnets
When I get mad, I revert to English,
because English is my first language.
When I feel romantic, I revert to Turkish,
because Turkish is my love language.
When I feel passionate, I revert to Spanish,
because Spanish is my passion language.
When I feel electric, I revert to Telugu,
because Telugu is my power language.
When nothing works, I revert to Korean,
because Korean is my backup language.
And you wonder why I never run empty,
why the natural spring is ever abundant!
Language is the gateway to culture,
Culture is the gateway to life.
I am no person who speaks many tongues,
I am the proof of plenticultural life.
because English is my first language.

And you wonder why I never run empty,
why the natural spring is ever abundant!
Language is the gateway to culture,
Culture is the gateway to life.
I am no person who speaks many tongues,
I am the proof of plenticultural life.

I am not creative, I’m just alive (Sonnet 1433) | Abhijit Naskar | Dervis Vadisi: 100 Promissory Sonnets
No such thing as an uncreative heart,
If you are alive, you are creative.
Unless cluttered by status quo,
Every heart is by nature creative.
Heart alive is heart creative,
Creativity is a sign of life.
Uncreativity is pulselessness,
Symptom of a heart anemic of life.
I am not creative, I’m just alive,
Creativity is just a byproduct.
If you don’t impose limits of norm,
Every blood vessel is creation-duct.
If you are alive, you are creative.
Unless cluttered by status quo,
Every heart is by nature creative.
Heart alive is heart creative,
Creativity is a sign of life.
Uncreativity is pulselessness,
Symptom of a heart anemic of life.
I am not creative, I’m just alive,
Creativity is just a byproduct.
If you don’t impose limits of norm,
Every blood vessel is creation-duct.

Life’s A Lunar Cycle (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Dervis Vadisi: 100 Promissory Sonnets
Life is like the lunar cycle,
sometimes it is full shining,
sometimes it is half shining,
other times it goes totally dark.
But one thing is certain,
no one phase lasts forever,
it all just keeps changing,
thus light is sustained
through life’s brief encounter.
The unpredictability of life
is what makes life predictable.
Sometimes it rains cats and dogs,
the next moment sunshine is unavoidable.
sometimes it is full shining,
sometimes it is half shining,
other times it goes totally dark.
But one thing is certain,
no one phase lasts forever,
it all just keeps changing,
thus light is sustained
through life’s brief encounter.

Grow so big with your ideas that you become a threat to every nationalist state in the world. Abhijit Naskar | Visvavatan: 100 Demilitarization Sonnets
Grow so big with your ideas that you become
a threat to every nationalist state in the world.
Grow so big with inclusivity that you become a curse
to every fundamentalist institution in the world.
Pledge allegiance to no label,
Be absolutely, unequivocally nondual.
Move past even the concept of nonduality,
So that you become unequivocally whole.
Expand, expand, and expand again,
till the world witnesses your human reign.
Expand to serve, expand to love!
Amidst eternal desert be the impossible rain.
a threat to every nationalist state in the world.
Grow so big with inclusivity that you become a curse
to every fundamentalist institution in the world.
Pledge allegiance to no label,
Be absolutely, unequivocally nondual.
Move past even the concept of nonduality,
So that you become unequivocally whole.

till the world witnesses your human reign.
Expand to serve, expand to love!
Amidst eternal desert be the impossible rain.

One Mission, Many Vessels (The Sonnet, 1313) | Abhijit Naskar | Visvavatan: 100 Demilitarization Sonnets
One thunder, visions plenty.
One mission, vessels plenty.
One source, seekers plenty.
One fate, fervors plenty.
From dust we’re born,
In dust we’re gone.
Cashes to ashes,
Bitcoins in trashes,
Division is nefarious,
Unity is dawn.
The day the billions of people of earth
are valued more than the billionaires,
that day you shall be human being,
that day you are king and queen.
Naskar doesn’t have flag or nation,
My flag is world flag – my nation, world nation.
Call me poet, scientist or humanitarian,
Naskar is the spirit of world integration.
One mission, vessels plenty.
One source, seekers plenty.
One fate, fervors plenty.
From dust we’re born,
In dust we’re gone.
Cashes to ashes,
Bitcoins in trashes,
Division is nefarious,
Unity is dawn.

Unapologetically Human | Abhijit Naskar | Dervis Vadisi: 100 Promissory Sonnets
During the first year I tried to write like an intellectual, until I realized, that’s not me. So I abandoned the intellectual facade, and became unapologetically human in my writing, and I haven’t looked back since.
The tone of ‘In Search of Divinity’ was so different that I even thought of publishing by a pseudonym. Today I am glad that I did not change my name, for the different new tone was the true voice of mine.
Monkey see, monkey imitate – Human challenge is to find yourself. Once you do, that’s when you start to glow, Synthetic sparklers only drag you to descent.

Grownup Happiness (The Sonnet) | Abhijit Naskar | Dervis Vadisi: 100 Promissory Sonnets
I don’t do Netflix,
I don’t binge for adrenaline.
I find it far more soothing to
listen to old BBC radio shows
while I do my writing.
Happiness is not a matter of exhilaration,
Happiness is a matter of moderation.
Just because all the monkeys are partying,
doesn’t mean you gotta give submission.
So I say, get your priorities straight,
Happiness will take care of itself.
If you don’t know to draw your own lines,
That’s not freedom, but apish descent.
I don’t scroll till I pass out,
I don’t drink till I feel sick.
Happiness means happy-in-less,
Trends don’t bring you peace.
I don’t binge for adrenaline.

Letter from God (An Autobiographical Sonnet)| Abhijit Naskar | Dervis Vadisi: 100 Promissory Sonnets
Some people chant Bismillah,
Some people chant Bhagvan.
Some people call me Lord God,
I’m actually very much human.
Seek me in church and temple,
I shall elude you for time eternal.
All churches are without God,
But God cannot be without human.
Above all hagiographies, human is real,
There’s nothing more divine than human.
Godliness unfolds only through humanness,
Only sin in the world is the sin of division.
Secularism is not a rejection of religion,
secularism is inoculation against fundamentalism.
Religion is not the search for a mythical deity,
but the realization of oneness within every human.
