Baker and Taylor Employees Horrible Reviews on Bridgewater Management
Baker and Taylor Employees - Two Star Rating from Baker and Taylor Employees
Baker and Taylor Employees Fight Back with Worldwide Minister http://www.PaulFDavis.com Author of 20 Books Baker and Taylor Never Paid!
As an author never paid by Baker and Taylor, I realized further the company is lacking internally as well as morally and ethically. Among the complaints from Baker and Taylor employees on the web are [http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Bake...
]:
'No room for advancement, no raises, if you are not apart of an existing clique you won't fit in there.'
Baker and Taylor is 'unorganized' - how ironic in that Baker and Taylor never sent me payment for the books I sent to them (and agreed for half price to sell them) because they wanted to paperwork me to death, but still after I sent Baker and Taylor the documents requested unethical and 'unorganized' Baker and Taylor still NEVER PAID ME!
More from Baker and Taylor employees:
'There is no room for growth, unless you happen to be a favorite of someone in a director-level position - then they will create new positions and titles for you to hold. Everything is unorganized and held together with minimal resources. They expect you to do the job that should be split between 3+ people, all without proper compensation. There is no feeling of company unity - morale is generally low across departments. There is also no consistency in the treatment of employees - some are allowed to 'get-away' with certain activities, while others are not. HR is a joke - very unorganized - it's not made clear who in the department is responsible for what. Everything is outdated. Overall, this company needs a complete overhaul.'
More from the Baker and Taylor employees:
'Advice to Senior Management – The bottom-line may be about revenue, but remember that the employees' happiness is directly related to the quality of your products and services, and also how hard and long they're willing to work for your company.'
'No, I would not recommend this company to a friend.'
“Horrible work environment and horribly cliched if you don't know very many people.”
'Advice to Senior Management – Better communication and stop treating their employees more than just disposable trash.'
'No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company.'
“Nepotism at its worst”
Marketing (Former Employee)
Charlotte, NC
'I worked at Baker & Taylor full-time for more than 3 years.'
'Pros – Great way to learn about the dwindling book industry.'
'Cons – Management lacks direction. People in key positions are there because they have a connection to the current CEO not because they are experts in their field. The environment is very hostile and unwelcoming for anyone outside of that inner circle. Far too much time is spent on office politics. Turnover is high except for the handful of people who have been there 20 years. The computer systems and IT department are 10 years behind but they believe they are cutting edge. The company has a history of being sold and works the numbers to look good on the market. Their book and video business is dying and this company is suffering from lack of leadership. I would not recommend this to anyone unless you are just counting the days to retirement.'
'Advice to Senior Management – These managers would never accept advice. They believe everyone else is the problem as a revolving door of people come and go. They enjoy playing the blam game, they are not capable of improvement.'
'No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company.'
“Interesting work, terrible environment”
Anonymous Baker and Taylor Employee (Current Employee)
Bridgewater, NJ
'I have been working at Baker and Taylor full-time.'
'Pros – Baker and Taylor still plays a major role in the publishing world and working here offers a great opportunity to learn the industry and get to know publishers.'
'Cons – Benefits are absolutely horrible. VERY minimal vacation time, no paid sick days, and barely any holidays recognized. Employees are forced to use vacation time if they can't get to work in 2 feet of snow, and are mostly not given the opportunity to work from home in such cases. There's an atmosphere of secrecy and elitism that prevents intelligent, valuable employees from contributing to the success of the business. A select few in upper management hold all of the power and do not show any respect for the individuals who run the business for them. A truly demoralizing place to work.'
'Advice to Senior Management – Learn to respect the people that you work with. Consult with the people running your business before you make major business decisions. Be respectful of other people's schedules - attend the meetings you say you will attend, or let people know you're not available. Simple courtesies would go a LONG way and are sorely lacking.'
'No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company.'
“Great co-workers, bad management”
'Cons – Upper management does not communicate effectively with the rank and file, who go above and beyond every day for almost no recognition. Human Resources dept. experiences consistent turnover, which is a red flag. Benefits are among the worst in the industry. Many in upper management are territorial to a fault. Raises are almost nonexistent, public praise is far too infrequent.'
'Advice to Senior Management – Value the hard work your employees put in every day instead of treating them like badly-behaved children. Salary and benefits do not begin to match the effort that employees put in. This company used to be like a close-knit family, new management treats employees more like indentured servants.'
“Horrible place to work!”

'I worked at Baker and Taylor full-time for more than a year'
'Pros – Nothing good about the place.'
'Cons – Bridgewater management are inept bullies.'
'No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company'
“A non ending struggle”
Clerical/Office Area (Current Employee)
Commerce, GA
'I have been working at Baker and Taylor full-time for more than 8 years'
'Pros – Employee Book Sales, Great Co Workers, 5 day work week'
'Cons – No communication, No chance of advancement unless higher paid employees lose their job, Filthy work environment, No job security, Promises unfulfilled, No raises or very minimal raise, The longer I work at Baker & Taylor the further behind I get because salary does not keep up with cost of living, Insurance premiums etc...Great CEO, Mr. Morgan is a man of high morals and good intentions for the comapany and employees.'
'Advice to Senior Management – Deliver the Future...get rid of the past! Baker & Taylor needs change. Some Supervisors should be made to understand that they do not "own" their departments and personal life should be separate from work life. Favoritism should be addressed and dealt with quickly. No more Focus Meetings, no one will speak up about the "real issues"...anonymity is a must.'

Orlando Life Coach, Orlando Love Coach, Orlando Dating Coach
Orlando Life Coach, Orlando Love Coach, Orlando Dating Coach http://www.PaulFDavis.com author of 20 books, worldwide motivational speaker has touched 70 nations w life-changing messages! Are you ready for personal transformation to live your dreams!
Struggling finding someone that you feel connected to and compatible with inwardly, mentally, emotionally, professionally, and physically (I mean there has to be some chemistry, but if he/she is only a frame with no picture inside, that makes for some boring conversation and little intellectual stimulation now doesn't it)?
As the author of several relational books, I get it:
- Breakthrough For A Broken Heart
- Update Your Identity
- Empowering and Liberating Women
- Healthy Relationships
- Are You Ready For True Love?
- Stop Lusting and Start Living
- Adultery 101
Need I say/write anymore?
Orlando Life Coach, Orlando Love Coach, Orlando Dating Coach
Can you feel me?
Like what you're reading and where I'm coming from? Need someone to talk to ....perhaps to help you sort through what you are going through?
I'm a happily married man with a wife of 6 years with a newborn baby girl on the way (arriving late August), but have a heart and compassion to help struggling singles with their emotional, relational, and professional challenges.
I also officiate weddings - http://www.itietheknot.com - and have a front row seat at the most memorable and stressful time of a couple's life! Yes, believe it or not wedding preparations can be stressful on the bride and groom, revealing more the relational strengths and weaknesses.
But hey, maybe you are still single right! So let's back up a bit and start with you and where you are at. Email me and let me know (info@PaulFDavis.com) how I can help!
Beyond being a love coach, life coach and dating coach; I'm also a licensed worldwide minister (not a stuffy one - relax) who has traveled to and touched 70 countries; having worked in many war-torn, impoverished and disaster stricken regions of the earth.
Orlando Life Coach, Orlando Love Coach, Orlando Dating Coach
I studied life coaching at the NLP & Life Coaching Institute of California, having completed 125 hours of International Coach Federation certified training (unlike most self-proclaimed "life coaches" with no training or bio to match the job description). I mean you may want to have some LIFE EXPERIENCE before trying to be a LIFE COACH or give LIFE ADVICE right?
I trust were you to read my bio and accomplishments in full at my L ink ed in page - worldproperties; I would pass the litmus test for a genuine person and professional who has a passion to make an impact in our world and help people.
I also was born and bred in Orlando and know Central Florida very well.
Ironically, I even dated Cinderella when I worked as a bus-boy cleaning tables at Disney World (in Cinderella's Palace) when I was just 17 years-old. So I must have some emotional intelligence and charm to woo a princess, while in such a low position.
I bet I can be a blessing to you too!

Career Coach, Struggling Kids, Pushy Parents Lecturing and Belittling
Career Coach, Struggling Kids, Pushy Parents Lecturing and Belittling
I recently received this letter from my aunt, whom I love and adore. But she like my dad at times can be a bit jaded by her upbringing, paradigm, miniscule mentality and limited focus.
As a worldwide speaker, author of 20 books and life coach [also career coach] as it pertains to this post; I understand how to go forward and progress in my life. God knows I have done so through many war-torn parts of the globe!
Recently I received a little email from my aunt telling me what I NEED to do by way of employment (pursue the more cautious "stable" job with the glass ceiling).
Being the career coach I am, I don't buy into nor allow others who gave up on their dreams a long time ago, to deflate and discourage me to diminish and discard my dreams.
I don't think so! Hell no! I'm going forward with childlike faith and will walk on water.
I replied as follows below, which sometimes is needful when God has gifted you with talents and abilities and your pushy parents and family are given to lecturing, belittling and don't understand you.
My letter which I now share below:
'You and my beloved father NEED to do more than tell me what I NEED to do. When I was in 6th grade and fresh out of elementary school my educator mother (who prides herself in 31 years of service) and my father the disciplinarian were upset when I brought home a D in science on my progress report. What did they do? Wield the belt and Dad beat my ass. Did they every ONCE sit down with me and teach me HOW to study? No!
In regard to employment, when the pushy parents urged me to get a secure and stable job; little was done other than belittling and lecturing. To my mom's credit she at least made a few phone calls and tried to speak to principals to hire me recently (but I don't hold the heartstrings of employers and principals).
Furthermore good is the enemy of best. A good little job isn't MY DREAM,nor MY DESTINY! Living your dreams requires you to be willing to prosper and sometimes suffer; to abound and sometimes be abased (see Philippians 4:12). Nevertheless living within regardless of the external circumstances, I embrace all happily and wholeheartedly because MY FOOD IS FULFILLING MY DESTINY AND LIVING PURPOSEFULLY DAILY!
Besides in this country every job applicant gives priority to minorities and military. God bless them, but in others countries hiring is based on qualifications - not skin color and military service. Nevertheless God bless them all. God provides for me abundantly and has proven Himself consistently.
I'd have you to know the day will come I go from being broke to being a billionaire and everyone who belittled, talked about me behind my back, can then shut up!
I've got job offers at the moment in NY and Singapore, just did a job interview for Malaysia. Don't worry. I will be soon going where I am celebrated and not tolerated.
When the movie industry and TV as we know it crumbles (like the newspapers / print) I will be sitting pretty.
P.S. A speaking bureau for the U.S. Navy is trying to book me to speak for them nation and worldwide. So unless you are going to truly HELP and DO SOMETHING rather than lecture, the best thing you can do is BE KIND, SUPPORTIVE (LIKE) my posts (which you do and I appreciate) and have a bit of vision and faith for me yeah!
You're my favorite aunt. So I write to you from the heart in love (which rejoices in the truth - 1Corinthians 13:6).'
Now I'm back below:
So you see, even a worldwide motivational speaker, author of 20 books, and world-changer at times struggles, has down seasons in which work is slow (summer often) and that is time to inwardly mature and grow. Work on yourself, your roots, your message, fine-tune your character, reconnect with your purpose.
But the same little boy who was the yard slave and house chore boy for my step monster and "family," who took and uprooted me from my grandparents who raised me up until 6th grade; though at times they discouraged me and at the tender age of 12 I contemplated suicide, something rose up inside of me to conquer my circumstance (even when I was living with them in poverty in the deep country in a double wide rat infested trailer).
I said "No, I'm going to make something of my life. I won't die within, nor be confined by these circumstances and small minds around about me!"
Incidentally, with no help from my parents, I figured out how to excel in science and on the next exam in 6th grade when taking a two-part test (counting for 2 grades) on locating the bones of the body and spelling them correctly, ON A BLANK DIAGRAM with no words, no help, no multiple guess like today's generation's test; I scored a 100 on both of them and amazed my teacher to earn the most improved award in that class (with little approve, applause or praise thereafter from my "family" who obviously cared little about me).
From deep within I arose to win! Years later I became a personal fitness trainer using what I learned about anatomy and the human body from 6th grade - that class still having been the hardest exam I have ever taken; more so than those I have taken in 2 master degree programs at university.
So if I can make it as a lonely 12 year old boy in the boonies with no encouraging soul in sight and contemplating suicide; I know I will make it today where I am in life (and you will too if you put childlike faith and trust in God).
Today I speak on suicide prevention to the military; so God turned the mess into a message!
Therefore don't let pushy parents given to lecturing and belittling get under your skin. It's your life journey and with faith, determination and a consistent work ethic you will arise, shine, conquer your circumstances and win!

Will Sequoia Capital Restore CSR to Thumbtack Stealing Domains Sold Business Owners and Cyber-Squatting?
I tweeted this today about Sequoia Capital who Thumbtack reports has invested $12.5 million in Thumbtack's growth.
What Sequoia Capital doesn't know however is Thumbtack sold business owners domains years ago promoting they can "have your your own domain for YOUR BUSINESS," but about 2 to 3 years into the domain ownership Thumbtack was collecting $10 annually from business owners, some corrupt Thumbtack company executive got the ungodly idea to remove business owner's images and information from the top of their domains they had purchased to promote their single company's services and Thumbtack began to promote itself on the business owner's domain and page AND simultaneously promote the business owner's competitors (until I said something to Thumbtack about it and threatened Thumbtack with a class-action lawsuit).
Thumbtack nevertheless continues cyber-squatting on domains sold business owners because Thumbtack continues to promote its company (NOT the business owners' company) because the first thing visitors see when they visit the domain - mine being www.NY-life-coach.com - is no longer my image and business information (as in the beginning and first 2 years), but now it shows Thumbtack's cyber-squatting maneuver and banner across the top of MY DOMAIN (I bought and paid for, promoted, advertised, work hard to get friends, clients, previous customers to endorse, visit and rack up over 100 points on Thumbtack's site). I have 4,000 videos on YouTube and Goodreads combined many of which have a link to www.NY-life-coach.com thereon that I now am having to remove and gradually redirect to www.Linkedin.com/in/worldproperties because of Thumbtack's unethical business practices, false advertising, stealing domains, money, time, opportunity cost, and resources from business owners to promote it's website and company.
Such is ungodly, unethical and should not be tolerated in the marketplace. Please Retweet the following below which I sent today to the US Patent Trademark Association, ICANN regulating cyber law and prosecuting white collar crime, and the FTC.

Mixing Meat and Dairy - Bible Scriptures on Meat and Milk Mixtures and Jewish Dietary Laws
Mixing Meat and Dairy - Bible Scriptures on Meat and Milk Mixtures and Jewish Dietary Laws
'Mixtures of milk and meat' in Judaism are prohibited according to Jewish law;' according to kashrut, based on the following three Bible Scriptures.
'According to the Talmud, these almost identical references are the basis for three distinct dietary laws:'
1. The prohibition against cooking a mixture of milk and meat
2. The prohibition against eating a cooked mixture of milk and meat
3. The prohibition against deriving any benefit from a cooked mixture of milk and meat.
'You are not to boil a young animal in its mother’s milk' (Exodus 23:19).
'Thou shalt not seethe a kid in his mother's milk' (Exodus 34:26).
'Do not eat anything you find already dead. You may give it to the foreigner residing in any of your towns, and they may eat it, or you may sell it to any other foreigner. But you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Do not cook a young goat in its mother’s milk' (Deuteronomy 14:21).
So these Bible Scriptures don't blatantly say we are never to mix meat and dairy. Mixing meat and dairy happens daily throughout the country at every hamburger restaurant and fast-food establishment (not that you should consult any of them food good health).
I learned in Bogota, Colombia not to drink milk after eating beans - nasty stomach pain and explosion later :o(
The local Colombian youth urged me not to repeat this mistake.
Mixing meat and dairy will NOT separate you from the love of God, keep back God's blessing from your life, nor send you to hell. I'm sure some religious zealot (foolishly) has preached this a means to manipulate God's people into compliance. But God is a lover not a control freak. Furthermore God created all things and called them "good," when rightfully used for their intended purpose in the ecosystem.
Jewish dietary laws can be rigid and frigid so take them with a grain of salt, better yet the salt of God's Word to know truth from fiction and dead religious tradition (Mark 7:13) the latter cripples you spiritually.
Should you eat ice-cream with meat scraps? As you wish. Some like bacon with everything. It certainly might taste good.
The American food industry will do anything to pinch pennies and make a buck, while making Americans ill in the process. Buyer beware of "pink slime," "techno tuna," and other dirty little secrets within the fatal "food" industry.
A country that claims to be Christian such as America should stand up for consumers and stop allowing such food adulterations to occur under its watch, poisoning and polluting the food chain, and making Americans ill and predisposed to diseases dying prematurely.
Meat in the U.S. needs to be cooked thoroughly as Jewish dietary laws advise. Why? Because the USDA allows salmonella in meat, thinking consumers know to cook it thoroughly and that when doing so the salmonella will die.
Unfortunately many like to eat their meat nearly raw, rare, or medium rare (NOT fully cooked through) and subject their intestines (where two-thirds of your human immune system exists) to parasitic infestation compromising their health.
I'm a parasite killer and have perfected an AWESOME parasite cleanse if you need help with this, but you must pay me well (or just purchase my book or videos) since it is a NASTY job I personally already already endured this for 19 months of experimentation to figure out what truly and and naturally works. I don't care to get too deep in the stuff again for mere entertainment, or pleasure. It took me 2 years and 70 countries of pain and suffering to learn these lifesaving truths. Now it is time to live life again!
Anyhow back to mixing meat and dairy. It's funny how easy well meaning religious folks and Jewish dietary laws (which I greatly cherish and value) can add bits and pieces of their own personal interpretations to Bible Scriptures and then teach them as Gospel truths applying them as another law to burden God's people with. Please don't be such a person, or religious leader; as such just further alienates people from a living, loving, liberating God.
I think the USDA has certainly taken Deuteronomy 14:21 to heart as there basically are no food safety standards whatsoever when selling meat abroad (unlike domestic food regulations). I think this is bad foreign policy and perhaps reveals a bit of God's tendency at times to be a bit passive aggressive perhaps (at least in the Old Testament in a dispensation of law).
As a former fitness trainer, nutritional consultant and health coach; it is a known documented fact in America among Christendom Seventh Day Adventists adhering to the dietary laws of Moses (who eat less meat, abstain from pork and live more disciplined lives) live healthier and longer.
Nevertheless knowing in Christ we are free from the law and at liberty to eat whatever we want (Acts 10:13; 1 Timothy 4:1-3); I do so gladly WHEN I WANT. But it is also worth mentioning, I ALSO WANT to LIVE STRONG and LIVE LONG. Therefore I appreciate, value and esteem the law of God (Romans 7:12,14), knowing it to be a good dietary guideline to keep my body free from parasitic infestation and illness (if I will but listen to and obey it).
The law being spiritual and good (Romans 7:12,14) is worth studying, knowing, remembering, and heeding when you feel so inclined and spiritually led to do so - for your betterment of course.
'For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death' (Romans 8:2).
'But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus' (Galatians 3:22-26).
Yet God does not change (Malachi 3:6), which tells me Christ came to save mankind from their sins, cleanse them within, and empower us by the His Holy Spirit that rose Christ from the dead (Romans 8:11) so we can be strengthened body-mind-spirit to live victoriously.
Living victoriously does not mean living lasciviously and disobediently, but rather being a mature disciple who is harnessed by God's Word and governed by His Holy Spirit.
''Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven' (Matthew 5:17-19).
So as it pertains to mixing milk and meat, we are free to do so. But it may not always prove beneficial for your digestive system.
Dr. Hiromi Shinya, founder of the colonoscopy who has been inside 300,000 stomachs learned early on as a father when his two children and wife had dermatitis, that milk (dairy) was a huge contributing factor.
Therefore this warrants further study beyond just the mixing of meat and milk.
Meat is dead food, slowing down the body's processes; unlike living raw fruit and vegetables that provides immediate energy readily digestible and absorbable within 30 minutes of consumption.
Some claim we need meat for protein, but grains, legumes, beans, vegetables also have protein and too much protein throws your body into an acidic toxic state, junking up your kidneys, slowing down your organs, and causing your bones to excrete calcium (osteoperosis) to rid itself of toxins.
So use discretion and exercise moderation in whatever you eat. Paracelsus the father of toxicology said all substances are potentially toxic if taken in excessive dosages.
Our bodies (as God's Word teaches do not lie - 'nature itself teaches us' [1Corinthians 11:14]) reveal the state of our health - physically, mentally and spiritually. It is worth remembering 'godliness is profitable in ALL THINGS' (1Timothy 4:8) and if our health is suffering, something is missing from our "spirituality" and feeble Christianity.
Likewise if our Jewish dietary laws become a source of alienation, offense, and stumbling block; how can our spirituality be relevant and salient to impact society? (see Romans 14)
Christ (the Jewish Messiah) came to LIBERATE us body-mind-spirit, but to experience liberation physically you cannot abuse your body and live in ignorance daily (Hosea 4:6).
Be free! Live happy! Eat exuberantly and carefree! But be wise on occasion and thing long-term concerning your health when evaluating all food options and choices to maximize both enjoyment and personal wellness.

The Sistine Secrets: Michelangelo's Forbidden Messages in the Heart of the Vatican
The Sistine Secrets: Michelangelo's Forbidden Messages in the Heart of the Vatican
When I was looking for paintings on the book of Revelation recently on Google, I came across this book on The Sistine Secrets: Forbidden Messages from Michelangelo about the Vatican.
Wow! It immediately reminded me of my trip to Rome and time viewing the Vatican and being deeply troubled by the homosexual art and sculptures.
I look forward to reading the book http://amzn.to/15WYYXb but take a look at this video to see what I mean http://bit.ly/18xiVch (my apologies for my crazy British stuffy voice but for some reason that is how I felt when shooting it).

Where is God? Where Are You God? God Sleeping On the Job?
Where is God? Where Are You God? God Sleeping On the Job?
Ever said these words? "Where is God? Where Are You God? God Sleeping On the Job?"
I have! Sometimes it feels like God has forsaken and forgotten you. It's difficult to Biblically know ABOUT God, have experienced God's goodness in your life in the past, but be perplexed in your present situation, suffering and circumstances.
As the author of 'God vs. Religion' and a worldwide minister who has witnessed suffering up close and personal in the 70 countries to which I have traveled; I can assure you many people throughout the earth feel the same way!
What my maternal grandmother once told me that we must remember however is: "Pray like it all depends upon God, but work like it all depends upon you."
That is good advice because the Bible tells us: "Faith without works is dead" (James 2:26).
God gave you strength, a mind, a body and skills. Use them and apply yourself. Invest in yourself. Seek wise counsel from intelligent people and grow daily however you can to enlarge and leave your present en route to your future.
