We Are the "Tent of Meeting"

One thing the Bible teaches us is that God wants to meet with us.

In the Garden of Eden, heaven and earth became one as God walked with Adam. The Onkelos Targum translates the Genesis 3:8 passage as Adam heard “the voice of the Word of the Lord God walking.” John says, “In the beginning was the Word.” He goes on to say the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.” (John1:1,14) John is telling us that the Word is God and Jesus is God.

When God gave Moses instruction...

Blessed to Receive!

I wanted to share with you a personal story.

When my husband got sick we prayed and believed God for his healing. It was a brief struggle of victories and defeats. When he passed away it felt like robbery. We did not understand. God’s word is true. All of it. The parts about answering prayer. The parts about saving, redeeming and delivering.

On a hot August day, I sat on my patio and cried. Understanding began to dawn as the Word, opened on my lap, pointed to the truth. I failed. My hu...

When Enemies Are Really Friends

True friends are hard to come by. But in Matthew 8 and Luke 7 we see a host of them. A Roman Centurion lived in Capernaum who loved the Jewish people and built them a synagogue. He had a young servant, a child, who by accident or illness was paralyzed and in severe pain. It bothered him to see the kid suffer.

He asked his Jewish friends if they could get Jesus to heal the boy. The Jews came to Jesus and told him about the Centurion and his servant. Jesus offered to go at once....

Of Easter, Pagans and Blue Moons

Today we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, our Lord. It is a day that changed the world, person by believing person. The One who is love, showed us how to love.

You may, however, be with people who are quick to remind you that Easter is a pagan holiday. True, in a way. Eastra, the goddess of spring was worshipped near the time Jews celebrated Passover.

Reaching further back into history, 2100BC,  there is a Sumerian story called the Descent of Inanna. Inanna is t...

Where Have You Put Down Roots?

My parents lived in a border town. My mother was driven across the state line to have all her children because that’s where the hospitals were. After giving birth she returned home carting her infants never to return unless necessity required it.

The result is all their children’s birth certificates present a different impression. It is only in seeking information about residency would the correct information be discovered.

I thought about this while watching...

Should Christians Believe Global Warming Is Real?

The wintry weather has Trump and some conservatives doubting the reality of climate change or global warming. The debate continues with tweets and news articles. Where should a Christian stand on this issue?

Actually, Christians should take that debate one step further. The earth is warming to its final end, a total global meltdown, and that is man-made.

Recently I watched an episode of Nature called Artic Wolves. The unexpected violence between packs jolted me from the lull induced by the b...

Blue Moon and a Blood Moon?

In 2018 two sets of rare blue moons are to occur, with one falling on January 31, the other on Passover March 31. The January 31 blue moon is also a super moon and a blood moon due to an eclipse on that day. It falls on Tu B'Shevat, which signals the New Year for Trees. The last time this occurred on the exact same days was 150 years ago in 1866. Trees are a symbol for the nations.

The Bible speaks of a fifty year cycle of Jubilee for Jerusalem. In 1867 Charles Warren discovered the origin...
