Oliver

The swamp is silent today. I have a pebble in my hand and normally I would have been trying to spin it for the maximum times over the still water. However, the thought of Oliver, struggling in the hospital for life is making me cringe in grief. I am the culprit. Nothing would have happened if I had not been there with him that day. Nothing would have happened if I had not been in his life.

“I’ve heard that the swamps are created by these gigantic sick monsters who live hundreds of...

How Popular Indian Authors Promote Their Books?

Indian publishing industry has witnessed an enormous growth in last decade; be it metro reads, pocketbooks or illustrations, all of them have pushed the nascent industry towards a better tomorrow. Successful Indian Authors like Nikita Singh, Durjoy Datta, Anuj Tiwari and Savi Sharma have depended more upon Social Media platforms for reaching out to their loyal audience base than offline marketing.

Book tour continues to be an important part of offline book promotions. However, the real effort...

Letters to My Ex – Book Review

I just hate how I fell ill and couldn’t go to the launch of Letters to My Ex at Delhi; couldn’t get my book signed and couldn’t click a selfie with Nikita Singh. I admire her a lot because I began reading Indian Fiction after reading one of her books – If It’s Not Forever, which was co-written by Durjoy Datta. Anyhow, let me get back to reviewing the book.

Sleeping Beauties – Book Review

Stephen King is not an ordinary writer. The guy is a machine! While I’m writing a review of his last released book Sleeping Beauties (co-authored by his son Owen King), he has already announced two new books for this year. Anyhow, the thickness of this book was nightmarish itself, but was it worth it?

The Purpose

Blossom looked a bit creepy with only one of her eyes in place. I had tried searching for her missing eye everywhere, but all in vain. Maybe I can untie her braided hair and pull them in front of her face, covering the missing eye.

It started raining while I was combing Blossom’s hair. As the petrichor hit my senses, I couldn’t stop myself from rushing towards the balcony. The fiber sheet mounted on the roof was preventing the rain from falling on the balcony, but I could hear the sound and e...

My Life is Meaningless Without You (Until….)

Relationships are subjective to the people in concern. It can be a blissful experience for some while it is quite capable of making someone’s life miserable or even hysterical. A few years ago when social media was not around, people did not actually have a medium to confess their thoughts or emotions in front of everyone in a single go. I wonder if it was therapeutically to talk about the same thing with different friends or siblings; whether it allowed people to let go more easily. Anyhow,...

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of the Azkaban – Book Review

The first review of the year and it’s a Harry Potter book! How about that? I had seen the movie version of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban long back and I remember it being my favorite movie in the entire series. The good thing is that while reading the book I barely remembered facts, and it was therefore a fresh look into the things.

The Hidden Letters – Book Review

Purba is a dear online friend and I really admire the way she writes, so much that I have decided to read anything she writes. I even read her poetry book (I never read poetry) and liked it. I had finished reading The Hidden Letters a few days back and it left me pondering at certain things. It’s laughable (for her) how I hated her for penning down certain fates in the book, but the emotion stayed with me long after reading the book. ‘Isn’t it a good thing?’ I thought.

The Boy with a Broken Heart – Book Review

The Boy with a Broken Heart is a direct sequel to Durjoy Datta’s The Boy Who Loved. I liked the book because he literally went back to his roots with the book (his previous couple of books were disaster for me) and wrote something that touched my heart.
