Crookston Times: Continued wet cycle in valley is cause for concern

Crookston — Attend a meeting on the scale of Friday's Red River Valley spring flood preparation gathering hosted by U.S. Sen. Al Franken at the University of Minnesota, Crookston, and it's impossible not to pick up on the theme in cities up and down and across the Red River Basin over the past several years: Everyone is sick of fighting back high water every year, with mixed success. Everyone is "tired," they're "weary" and, most notably, they're especially nervous about a 2011 spring flood fight that could be one of the most stressful of all.

Los Angeles Times: Clorox comes clean: Company discloses all ingredients in all products

The maker of bleach, Pine-Sol and other popular cleaning products announced Tuesday that it will disclose the specific preservatives, dyes and fragrances it uses in its cleaning, disinfecting and laundry products sold in the U.S. and Canada.

Examiner: Abortion: Senate Dems respond to GOP attack on women's rights

Democrats are responding to the GOP attack on women's rights. Tuesday Senate Dems announced they would continue to support abortion rights despite the fact that House Republicans are working overtime trying to restrict if not eliminate access to safe and legal abortions.

The Citizens Federation NE continues to keep the Northland engaged in the discussion of providing affordable health care for all. At our recent news conference in Duluth, Sen. Al Franken, D-Minn., showed strong support for the work of the Citizens Federation at several levels. Our participation in the Greater Minnesota Health Care Coalition, representing St. Louis County and several other counties north of the Twin Cities, involves an ongoing review of state legislation as well as providing group informational presentations in the region to make sure Minnesotans are getting the care they deserve.
