Evolution Writer Joseph Keatinge Let Us Into His House!

Joseph Keatinge is a serious comics man, no messing around over here! He’s done a lotta stuff! And he’s got a lot more stuff to do!  Don’t you worry we had a nice long chat with Mr. Keatinge in his Portland, Oregon living room, so you’re gonna get to know him on a nice and intimate level.

And just between y’all and us — he has some real weird bathroom art!

Mr. Keatinge has been around the comics block, so to speak. He’s been on both sides of the desk as a writer and editor and he’s worked with a whole slew of publishers! After being offered a gig as a color flatter (don’t worry, he explains what that is in the interview), Keatinge worked at Image Comics in Public Relations, Marketing, AND Sales/Licensing! That’s some real dedication to the craft of creator owned comics! 

Keatinge is the writer of Marvel, DC, and Skybound titles including Shutter, Ringside, Glory, Tech Jacket, Marvel Knights: Hulk, and The Adventures of Superman. He is also the executive co-editor of the Eisner and Harvey-winning anthology, PopGun with Mark Andrew Smith.

Listen, Joe’s even got some credits as a colorist, he’s truly a jack of ALL TRADES. 

We’d be remiss to mention that Joseph is also a HUGE horror fan, if his new book EVOLUTION was any indication. We were able to pry out some information on the book including inspirations for the story, the unique look and coloring, and what it’s like working on a book with THREE other writers.
