Announcing Our Newest Comic: EXCELLENCE!

EXCELLENCE IS REAL.

EXCELLENCE is also the title of Skybound’s newest comic, created by Khary Randolph and Brandon Thomas. Brandon and Khary are longtime Skybound family, joined here by colorist Emilio Lopez and letterer Deron Bennett. To work with them again was a given; to do it all together on an action-packed comic about a secret society of magicians that channels Kendrick Lamar and Street Fighter and Black Panther (Priest AND Coogler)? Shut up and take my money.

At the center of this series is Spencer Dales, a young man about the join the Aegis—the magical Illuminati that guides the world with unseen hands. Cause you know real bad boys move in silence. Spencer’s bloodline is blessed with unimaginable power, a responsibility that his father reminds him of every day. It’s a legacy that’s hard to live up to, even more so when Spencer discovers the flaws in the Aegis’s design.

Super Dinosaur Nominated at 2019 Canadian Screen Awards

The Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television (The Canadian Academy) has just announced the nominees in 135 film, television, and digital content categories for the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards.

We have the exciting announcement that our very own SUPER DINOSAUR has been nominated in two categories: William Lau for Best Direction in an Animated Series and Miguel Nunes for Best Sound in Animation! This is William’s first nomination for the Canadian Screen Awards and Miguel’s second, having first been nominated for Sound Editing for horror film THE UNSEEN (2016). Super Dinosaur—based on Robert Kirkman and Jason Howard’s book of the same name—is executive produced by Robert Kirkman, Catherine Winder, and David Alpert, produced by Kylie Ellis, and coordinated by Kerry Harrington.

Organized by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, the annual awards celebrate achievements in homegrown screen content, including film, television, and digital media.

The Canadian Academy produces Canadian Screen Week. This annual celebration of excellence in media features a multi-platform, national program of events and celebrations, and culminates with the Canadian Screen Awards: Broadcast Gala live on CBC, Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 8 p.m. (9 p.m. AT/ 9:30 p.m. NT).

Congrats to William, Miguel, and the entire Super Dinosaur team, who have done an absolutely amazing job with this new series!
