Insurrection Media Teams Up with Skybound

Today we’re proud to announce our new partnership with Insurrection Media. Insurrection is an independent digital TV studio that produces high quality scripted shows for video platforms as well as broadcast and cable networks internationally.

Headed by former Fox Broadcasting digital exec Kiliaen Van Rensselaer, Insurrection Media will help support our digital and TV projects with an emphasis on video games. “We’re exhilarated to be partnering with Robert Kirkman and David Alpert,” Van Rensselaer said. “They are visionaries and entrepreneurs who understand science fiction storytelling and multi-platform content development better than anyone else.”

Skybound co-founder David Alpert highlighted their emphasis on creator-centric projects. “Kiliaen’s philosophy around empowering creators to experiment with resources in a laissez faire environment is very appealing to the team here at Skybound,” Alpert said. “We’re excited to work with him to demonstrate that we can hatch some world class shows with this approach.”

This comiXology Deal is… INVINCIBLE!

If you haven’t read INVINCIBLE by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, you’re crazy! It’s a super smart, emotional, violent, and funny take on the super hero genre. It starts with some very familiar tropes but very quickly turns them on their head and goes pedal-to-the-metal. If you’re looking for the trademark Kirkman gut-punches, oh boy. INVINCIBLE has them in spades!

99 cent issues up to issue #120.

50% off trade collections

and a special Series-wide Bundle of #1-120 for $99.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!

Invincible-sale-wide

Sorry about that headline. I couldn’t help myself! -b.

Announcing Scare PewDiePie!

We’re happy to announce our latest YouTube series, Scare PewDiePie! We teamed up with Felix Kjellberg (AKA PewDiePie) and Maker Studios to make a series where we basically torture poor Felix every episode. Says Felix, “I’m so excited to FINALLY share what I’ve been up to! Shooting a show like this in a completely new format has been so much fun! We just wrapped shooting but I still feel unsure every day if I’m safe or not from another scare. I can’t wait…”

“This has been a big year for Skybound and Scare PewDiePie is a huge part of what has made 2015 our biggest year yet. I am excited that we can finally talk about it,” said Robert Kirkman. “Working with Felix, YouTube and Maker Studios on this venture has been creatively exhilarating and just plain fun. I trust audiences will love the show as much as we loved creating it.”

Scare PewDiePie will drop Felix, completely unknowingly, into horrifying scenarios straight out of his favorite video games. Our team had a blast working with Maker Studios to constantly try to surprise and kill—I mean scare—the YouTube celeb. Check out the trailer below!

Scare PewDiePie will be coming to YouTube Red in 2016!
