THE SENTINEL by Jeremy Bishop
Every now and then I feature a book by a friend, in this case Jeremy Bishop, whose novel, TORMENT, was previously featured here. Bishop is back with his second novel, THE SENTINEL, and it's as awesome as the first, but far less serious and is, at times, as funny as it is frightening. And a lot of our mutual fans will be happy to know that the ending in THE SENTINEL won't make readers as…angry? Rage-filled? Consumed with personal guilt? Heh. Story description is below, but don't even bother reading it. Just go buy it! If you like my books, you're going to feel right at home with Bishop…
E-book only right now, but I hear print is coming by October.

The Extravagant Life of an Author – EXPOSED!
Take a moment to imagine the life of a full-time author—someone who sells enough books to not have a day job. What do you see? The author, dressing in a dark t-shirt and black sports coat, writes one, perhaps two novels a year if he's prolific. He lives a casual life in his house by the ocean. He travels the world, spending vast amounts of time in the more romantic European countries and writes the trips off as "research," on his taxes. He experiences all of the sophisticated sounds, sights and flavors he so adeptly describes in his novels. Six months of the year, he sits in a very clean office surrounded by artifacts collected from around the world, sipping wine and writing happily on a fancy laptop. The other six months of the year, he's living the life and enjoying his wealth.

Callsign: King – The first book of the Chesspocalyspe
The Chesspocalypse has begun!
CALLSIGN: KING is the first of five novellas, each one focussing on a different member of the Chess Team. Like the full length novels, these stories are fast-paced and full of myths, monsters and mayhem. Each book is co-authored by one of five different authors, each selected by me for their ability to write gripping fast-paced and scary stories combining ancient history, modern science and brilliant action sequences. If you're a fan of the Chess Team novels, you're going to love the novellas.

How Ten Minutes at High School Nearly Kept Me from Being a Writer – but Failed
Fifteen people stared at me with a mix of attention spans. Some doodled long before I stepped to the front of the room. Some looked out the classroom window, pining to be outside on that late spring day. The rest dutifully watched me, though I wished they wouldn't. Public speaking has always been, and still is, one of my greatest fears, second only to public reading.

The Day My Dog Almost Died – and I Nearly Joined Him
We called him Bud. Or Buddy. But the name on his city registration read: Buddy Boy Paisley Robinson. Not only did he have our family's last name, but he'd been given a middle name as well: Paisley—my grandmother's maiden name, my father's middle name, and my middle name. He was part of the family, name and all.

The Last Hunter
Available in all e-book formats!
The Last Hunter is, in my opinion, one of the best books I've ever written. It has my standard mix of action, horror, creatures, myth and speculation, but it also has a very unique first person perspective that really gets your head into the story. It is available for the Kindle at Amazon, the Nook at BN and all other e-book formats at Smashwords.com. Give it a read and be sure to post a review! Every one helps!

The Last Hunter – Pursuit
The second book of the Antarktos Saga is available now!
The brutalizing of Solomon Ull Vincent continues in The Last Hunter – Pursuit. New characters are introduced and things get intense as Solomon must now confront his personal demons along with the actual demons seeking to capture, break and remake him. I'm hoping to have book 3 (of five) out this fall and the final two books out in 2012. The Hunter series is the best of all my books, containing the same brutal action as my other novels, but with a strong first person voice and a lot more heart and a fantastical world that really lets my imagination run wild.

The Last Hunter – In Print!

If you're one of the majority that does not yet own an e-reader, THE LAST HUNTER - DESCENT is now available to you. The book can be ordered via any bookstore or from Amazon and B&N.
What's great about the timing of this announcement is that just ONE HOUR ago, I finished the second book in the Antarktos Sage, THE LAST HUNTER – PURSUIT, which should be available in all e-book formats AND print, in June.
Back to DESCENT. The story takes place in the universe I created for Antarktos Rising and shares some of the same characters (Merrill and Mirabelle) but the events of this first book take place twenty years before AR, beginning in the wonderful year of 1988 and follows 13 year old Solomon as he leaves the funky fresh 80s behind and enters a world of darkness and death beneath the surface of Antarctica. I'm not doing the story justice. Here's how Solomon describes it:
I've been told that the entire continent of Antarctica groaned at the moment of my birth. The howl tore across glaciers, over mountains and deep into the ice. Everyone says so. Except for my father; all he heard was Mother's sobs. Not of pain, but of joy, so he says. Other than that, the only verifiable fact about the day I was born is that an iceberg the size of Los Angeles broke free from the ice shelf a few miles off the coast. Again, some would have me believe the fracture took place as I entered the world. But all that really matters, according to my parents, is that I, Solomon Ull Vincent, the first child born on Antarctica-the first and only Antarctican-was born on September 2nd, 1974.
If only someone could have warned me that, upon my return to the continent of my birth thirteen years later, I would be kidnapped, subjected to tortures beyond comprehension and forced to fight…and kill. If only someone had hinted that I'd wind up struggling to survive in a subterranean world full of ancient warriors, strange creatures and supernatural powers.
Had I been warned I might have lived a normal life. The human race might have remained safe. And the fate of the world might not rest on my shoulders. Had I been warned….
This is my story-the tale of Solomon Ull Vincent-The Last Hunter.
This is, without a doubt, one of my best looking books to date. I've always loved the cover image, and will be hard pressed to match it for book 2, but the interior of the book, the spine and back cover all look primo. You won't be disapointed.

THRESHOLD – Available Now!
Have I mentioned it's available now?
Threshold is my tenth novel and, according to the critics, my best. I happen to agree with them, but it's kind of my job to tout every new novel as being my best. So don't listen to me. But listen to the fans and critics who have already read the book. The review quotes below are followed by the book description and links to buy it.
PRAISE FOR THRESHOLD:
"In Robinson's latest action fest, Jack Sigler, King of the Chess Team–a Delta Forces unit whose gonzo members take the names of chess pieces–tackles his most harrowing mission yet.Threshold elevates Robinson to the highest tier of over-the-top action authors and it delivers beyond the expectations even of his fans. The next Chess Team adventure cannot come fast enough."
– Booklist – Starred Review (my first!)
"In Robinson's wildly inventive third Chess Team adventure (after Instinct), the U.S. president, Tom Duncan, joins the team in mortal combat against an unlikely but irresistible gang of enemies, including "regenerating capybara, Hydras, Neanderthals, [and] giant rock monsters." …Video game on a page? Absolutely. Fast, furious unabashed fun? You bet."
–Publishers Weekly
"Robinson artfully weaves the modern day military with ancient history like no one else."
– Dead Robots' Society
"THRESHOLD is absolutely grippin. A truly unique story mixed in with creatures and legendary figures of mythology, technology and more fast-paced action than a Jerry Bruckheimer movie. If you want fast-paced: you got it. If you want action: you got it. If you want mystery: you got it, and if you want intrigue, well, you get the idea. In short, I $@#!$% loved this one."
– thenovelblog.com
"As always the Chess Team is over the top of the stratosphere, but anyone who relishes an action urban fantasy thriller that combines science and mythology will want to join them for the exhilarating Pulse pumping ride."
– Genre Go Round Reviews
"Jeremy Robinson's Threshold is one hell of a thriller, wildly imaginative and diabolical, which combines ancient legends and modern science into a non-stop action ride that will keep you turning the pages until the wee hours. Relentlessly gripping from start to finish, don't turn your back on this book!"
–Douglas Preston, New York Times bestselling author of Impact and Blasphemy
"With Threshold Jeremy Robinson goes pedal to the metal into very dark territory. Fast-paced, action-packed and wonderfully creepy! Highly recommended!"
–Jonathan Maberry, New York Times bestselling author of The King of Plagues and Rot & Ruin
"Threshold is a blisteringly original tale that blends the thriller and horror genres in a smooth and satisfying hybrid mix. With his new entry in the Jack Sigler series, Jeremy Robinson plants his feet firmly on territory blazed by David Morrell and James Rollins. The perfect blend of mysticism and monsters, both human and otherwise, make Threshold as groundbreaking as it is riveting."
– Jon Land, New York Times bestselling author of Strong Enough to Die
"Jeremy Robinson is the next James Rollins."
– Chris Kuzneski, New York Times bestselling author of The Lost Throne and The Prophecy
"Jeremy Robinson's Threshold sets a blistering pace from the very first page and never lets up. This globe-trotting thrill ride challenges its well-crafted heroes with ancient mysteries, fantastic creatures, and epic action sequences. For readers seeking a fun rip-roaring adventure, look no further."
–Boyd Morrison, bestselling author of The Ark
