SECONDWORLD Trailer is LIVE

Share

Just wanted to share the trailer for SecondWorld, my upcoming hardcover novel from Thomas Dunne Books. This is by far my best trailer yet. Hope you enjoy it, too. And if you want to pre-order the book, you can get it on Amazon. Or get it at Barnes & Noble.

The countdown to RAGNAROK begins…now!

It's with great pleasure and relief that I can announce that Kane Gilmour, co-author of CALLSIGN: DEEP BLUE (which many Chess Team readers have raved about) will also be co-authoring the next full length Chess Team novel, RAGNAROK (click here for higher res cover image). We're already hard at work banging out the plot, which is one of my most ambitious yet and will feature a nemesis far beyond anything King and crew have faced before. We'll also learn the answers to many of the questions left open at the end of THRESHOLD.

The 2011 Chesspocalypse Ends with a BOOM, SPLAT and occasional YEAARGHH!

Chesspocalypse

Holy crap. Not exactly an elegant expression of surprise/relief/excitement, but it pretty well summarizes how I feel as 2011 comes to a close. I wrote four novels (SECONDWORLD, THE SENTINEL, THE LAST HUNTER – PURSUIT and THE LAST HUNTER – ASCENT) which is about three more books than the average author. But I also co-authored and released SEVEN novellas collectively known as the Chesspocalypse. Each book focuses on a single member of Chess Team, a black ops team that deals with terrorists, madmen and monsters—sometimes all three at once. In November, the last three books of the Chesspocalypse arrived and brought the madness to a close. Before you ask, I'm currently planning just one Chesspocalypse book for 2012; CALLSIGN: KING – Book 3 – BLACKOUT, co-authored once again by Sean Ellis. That said, I'm also planning on releasing the fourth full length Chess Team novel, RAGNAROK in late summer, 2012. So, let's get to the books!

The Last Hunter – Ascent

It's no secret that THE LAST HUNTER series are my personal favorites out of all my books. They feature all the action, monsters, mythology and craziness of my other novels, but they've got more heart, and a main character, who is based on my son, Solomon. The story is more personal and moving while still being action packed and, at times, quite gory.

The Ninja's Path – Inspirational Sayings for the Silent Assassin. Kazai!

The Ninjas Path

A few years ago I had the pleasure of working with the most frustrating, aggravating people on the planet (you've been there, too). And when I finally removed myself from the situation, I had a storehouse of negative emotions eating at me. I needed catharsis, but I don't box, hunt, or even hurl inanimate objects. I gave up cooking ants with a magnifying glass thirty years ago. I'm just not a violent person. Outwardly. As many of you know, my imagination is a different story. I once had a gallery art show featuring some of my comic art. I stepped up next to a woman looking at my work and she said to me, "Man, Jeremy Robinson sure is a violent person." The point is, my catharsis would come from my imagination. But the product couldn't just be freakishly violent. It also had to be funny because I needed to find my sense of humor again. The resulting project was THE NINJA'S PATH – INSPIRATIONAL SAYINGS FOR THE SILENT ASSASSIN, a very funny, very violent parody on inspirational books written and illustrated under the pen name, Kutyuso Deep (sound it out).

A few years ago I had the pleasure of working with the most frustrating, aggravating people on the planet (you’ve been there, too). And when I finally removed myself from the situation, I had a storehouse of negative emotions eating at me. I needed catharsis, but I don’t box, hunt, or even hurl inanimate objects. I gave up cooking ants with a magnifying glass thirty years ago. I’m just not a violent person. Outwardly. As many of you know, my imagination is a different story. I once had a gallery art show featuring some of my comic art. I stepped up next to a woman looking at my work and she said to me, “Man, Jeremy Robinson sure is a violent person.” The point is, my catharsis would come from my imagination. But the product couldn’t just be freakishly violent. It also had to be funny because I needed to find my sense of humor again. The resulting project was THE NINJA’S PATH – INSPIRATIONAL SAYINGS FOR THE SILENT ASSASSIN, a very funny, very violent parody on inspirational books written and illustrated under the pen name, Kutyuso Deep (sound it out).

The book contains seventy illustrations and inspirational sayings along with seven chapters of text that reveal the seven pillars of ninjitsu. This hard cover tome of hilarity makes for the perfect Christmas gift for pretty much any man, teenage or adult, and while women aren’t the target audience, most find the book funny too. If you leave this sucker on the coffee table, your next gathering will have more than a few memorable conversations. I promise.

Here’s the book’s description:

WITH SEVENTY ILLUSTRATIONS portraying the simple joys of the ninja lifestyle, this concise and elegantly designed book gives ninjas messages of peace and illumination in the virtues, rewards, ideals, and emotions of their chosen profession—silent assassination. The Ninja’s Path is for anyone who understands that the “wellness” messages typically spouted by the world leave the silent assassin a castrated version of his former self, overflowing with useless emotions like compassion and love.

Kutyuso Deep calls on all ninjas—aspiring and professional—to ignore all that! Instead, with this book in hand, they can finally focus on the pure and simple pleasures that come from intimidating those around them, stalking a target from the shadows, or eviscerating an enemy in his sleep.

Ninjas can now turn their attention to the seven pillars of ninjitsu wellness—Social, Occupational, Spiritual, Intellectual, Emotional, Environmental, and Physical—as poetically described and exquisitely illustrated in this book. Each pillar is represented by ten core values for which the author has provided an inspirational saying and illustration to help reveal how each value applies to the ninja.

And here’s a quick excerpt:

How do you feel about killing?

Don’t answer quickly. Ponder the question. Let your mind flash back and experience every evisceration, strangulation, and dismemberment. Taste it afresh. Smell the blood. The bile. Feel the gore between your fingers and toes. Hear the cries for mercy and the ting! of blade on bone.

This is your job.

Your occupation.

You are a ninja.

The silent assassin.

And your profession is a noble one—

perhaps the noblest.

The King is back, baby!

CALLSIGN: KING – Book 2 – UNDERWORLD has arrived ahead of schedule! I could have waited for all the Callsign Book 1s to finish out before releasing this one, but the story could not be contained. For real. It has nothing to do with Christmas being on the way. Okay, fine. Maybe a little. But the story IS awesome. Not only is Sean Ellis once again the (superb) co-author, but we've brought back King's close friend, and archaeologist, George Pierce for this story, and the pair, who are deadly and brilliant when together, find themselves once again knee deep in shhhhenanigans. Check out the story description below and then hop on over to Amazon or B&N and pick it up! *Apple and print coming soon.

Jeremy Robinson's Great Kindle Giveaway Blog Tour

In the month of October I will be visiting a different blog every weekday and answering three questions about writing, publishing, or anything else the blog owner feels like asking me. Each day will bring something different. And for the readers of these blogs there will be a chance to win not one, but two Kindles. To be entered in the contest blog readers just need to visit my website and sign up for the newsletter. On October 31st I will pick, at random, a Kindle winner. For the second Kindle, there's a catch. The second Kindle giveaway will be triggered if any one of my books (Jeremy Robinson or Jeremy Bishop) reaches Amazon.com's bestseller list (top 100) during the month of October. My vote is for THE SENTINEL. :)

THE CHESSPOCALYPSE CONTINUES – CALLSIGN: QUEEN and CALLSIGN: ROOK

The second and third books of the Chesspocalypse are available now! It's somehow fitting that Queen and Rook come out together. Both characters have the other on the brain, but are separated by thousands of miles as Queen visits Pripyat, Russia, on the outskirts of Chernobyl, and Rook finds himself in a strange and dangerous town in northern Norway. Both books are currently available as e-books at B&N, Amazon and Smashwords, but will be in print in the next few weeks. Book covers, descriptions and buy links below!

My Top Secret Pen Name: Revealed!

Jeremy BishopPicture this. I'm standing in front of an eager throng of reporters. I'm well dressed and looking far more metrosexual than usual. All eyes are on me, desperate for information…about someone else—Jeremy Bishop. Who is this dashing writer who appeared out of nowhere and became a #1 Amazon.com horror author overnight? His first novel, TORMENT, is loathed by an angry few and adored by many. But he's a mystery. No one knows who he is, or where he came from and yet, I know him, I promote his books, and claim to be his "friend." It's reminiscent of how Peter Parker always happens to get the best pictures of Spiderman. So the questions come to the only potential source of information available to the world. Me. And the question everyone is asking is: Who is Jeremy Bishop?
