Dance, my pretty! Dance!

I love it when I am so inspired that I can effectively work on several projects at once. I can write 1000 words on one, and easily move to 500 words on another. There’s enough inspiration to go around and I plan on using this surge of creative force to my advantage.

This past weekend HDL topped the paranormal romance charts in the top 100, which isn’t bad for a new book its first week out. Word-of-mouth hasn’t gotten around yet.

In the meantime, I keep writing because the stories keep coming an...

As if the shocking news of her inheritance wasn’t enough, she meets the handsome, dark and mysterious, but thoroughly arrogant Michael O’Siad.

One night his dream doppelganger invites her to a private “dungeon” pa...

Out With the Old, In With The New!

Starting a new project is always a breath of fresh air. It’s especially great when you end one project just before First Rite (to Leviathan) and start another on First Rite. Of course I’ll likely besimultaneouslyworking on DOM359 and Rising Darkness this time around, but only because I’m feeling VERY inspired by both story lines. I might as well enjoy it now because in two months I’ll likely be ripping out my hair and wondering if I’ll get over the mid-hump in the story (stories?). Very rarel...

Writing Routines

It appears many of the writers who covered this top this month are just as haphazard as me. Discipline is one of those things I still struggle with and work at. I may spend an entire writing day and only get 1K out, but then on a day I’m working the day job, I’ll end up pushing out over 3K between eight and eleven at night.

While my writing schedule is rather consistent, my output isn’t. I usually have six dedicated writing days every month (not counting weekends). I still put in 27 to 36 hour...

Guest Blog: How to Introduce BDSM into Your Bedroom

bondage Today’s Guest Blog is written by a friend of mine who is an experienced Domme, but not a writer by nature. I hear a lot, from my readers how they’d like to delve into BDSM with their partners, but they’re not sure how to bring it up or get started. For this, my friend Domme Anon has a few tips!

When it comes to satisfaction, the level of which we have it can vary. Sure, we’re satisfied with the lunch we had today. Maybe we’re kind of satisfied with our waistline and we’re plenty satisfied with...

The Slump at The End

As the author of over 10 NF titles and over 7 novels I’ve come to learn a thing or two about writing books. The first thing I’ve learned is that no two books, for me at least, are alike.

While I rarely struggle with the type of non-fiction I write, since that’s just outright sharing information and sharing personal experience and commentary about that information, fiction is a different animal.

Fiction can be a challenge to the creative muscles.I tend to struggle with different parts depending...

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire…

I have a confession to make. I’m a big-fat-liar. I’m probably the reason so many people seem to think I have an easy, glamorous life as a writer.

Yes, it’s true. I’m constantly posting crap to Facebook that would make most people think I don’t have a real job.

Let’s just use this past week as an example.

Once a month I go have lunch with a friend of mine. Yesterday was our lunch day. After a one and a half hour lunch, my friend and I splurged and wandered over to the German bakery to buy pastrie...

The Myth of “Happy”

I was sitting back the other day, listening to a friend lament about how unhappy and depressed she was. She wasn’t just unhappy, she was downright pissed off that everyone else seems to be happy – except for her. For hours she went on and on about her misery.

Finally I had to stop her and tell her the two fundamental truths about being “Happy”.

1. No one is happy 100% of the time. NO ONE. I have good days, I have bad days. I have “meh” days. We ALL do. You are not exclusive in your depression a...
