More Flash, Less Blah, Blah, Blah?

So a couple of things. First, I changed the main page of this site to a static web page. Initially the main page was just the blog. Now, to see the latest blog posts, just check the Recent Post list in the upper right header. There is also the Archive and the Search features if you’re looking for something specific. I would love to hear what you think about the changes and if you think this makes the blog more user friendly, or not. I’ve already been told it’s a bit “gray”, but I like that. :...

Impressions, Priesthood, & Understanding

I was recently approached by a young man in his twenties who, after telling me he was new to Daemonolatry and his family condemned him for his abilities as a medium, expressed an interest in the priesthood. I went through my classic explanation that unlike most pagan/occult groups (especially online) that we actually required our priests to do a bit of work before they could claim the title Daemonolatry Priest(ess). I also explained, like I do at least fifty times a year, that being a priest...

Back to School

Perhaps one of the most insane things I did in 2012 was enroll myself in some college courses for 2013. I haven’t been enrolled in a college course since 1995, so this should be interesting. At the end of this month I begin two courses in online education (fundamentals and practical design and application) and one in plant propagation, which I mentioned earlier.

So from the end of January through March I should be a very busy girl. I’m also taking a nutrition class in April, and a Modern Europ...

Ahead in 2013

It’s New Year’s Eve.

Every year I retell the story how I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions. I made a resolution years ago to never make another resolution and it’s the only resolution I’ve ever been able to keep. ;)

No, no resolutions for 2013, just things on the agenda.

Writing

I have quite a few books in the works. The ones that will be coming out this year (for sure)include:

Her Demon Lover
Rising Darkness
Keys of Ocat

Additional books, storiesor novellasI’m going to try to get out:

DOM359
The Rite

The Keys of Death

This booklet is ultimately a supplement to the forthcoming Keys of Ocat: A Grimoire of Daemonolatry Nygromancye and nothing more. It was created as a way to get the death tablets out to my readers in the manner I intended for readers to see them — large and in full color. They lose something in the transition to black and white. Due to budget concerns, we were unable to have them printed in Keys of Ocat in full color. They’re “Keys” for a reason. Having the plates in full color goes a long wa...

Greatly Exaggerated

The rumors of my wealth are greatly exaggerated. How about yours? After all, we all know that most writers live in mansions sipping martinis. We spend long vacations in villas in Tuscany. Evidently we have expensive cars and servants, too. (Or is that minions?) ;)

I recently overheard an aspiring author telling folks that the only reason certain writers have a reading audience (and so many books published) is because said writers have money. This is a bizarre statement for many reasons.

1. I ha...

Best Books of 2012

For those of you who celebrate Christmas – Merry Christmas! Today I’m at my brother’s likely enjoying some delicious food and good company.Luckily I had the sense to schedule this post ahead of time so I didn’t miss this month’s Merry-Go-Round Blog Tour topic!

So the title of this post is a bit misleading, but only because my reading list is so huge. Right now I have about 50 books in the wings, and I tend not to be one of those readers who is up on new releases. They usually get added to my l...

Baphometic Rebirth

Wow. This is actually a verysad articleI wroteabout how writing literally saved my life during a time when I was clinically depressed. I wrote this in the summer of 2004. For my spiritual friends, you probably already know that it was Leviathan who carefullypicked up my broken heart anddirected me back toward my writing. I almost wasn’t able to postthis because re-reading it takes me back to that dark emotional place I found myself in ten years ago. Evidently there’s still some pain here. But...

They Can’t Kick You Off The Face of the Earth

This is another unearthed2004 articleI wrotefor a Canadian publication for writers. The publication went under before going to print. Nopoint in the article going to waste. It’s wonderful blog fodder. Enjoy!

I think every writer has a fear of submission and rejection no matter how many books or articles they’ve sold. Even nowadays, after having sold numerous non-fiction articles, one non-fiction book, a novel, and a few short stories, I still feel queasy when I slip a query or manuscript into...
