Summer Lull

Another tax quarter done with. It’s that time again where summer finds me either out in the garden, lounging on the deck, or behind my computer typing away. It’s that summer lull. I have deadlines and pending releases, certainly, but nothing major releasing for the next two months at least. That is unless you count my article The Path of Nasa & Alchemical Catharsis in the summer solstice edition of Qliphoth Journal III “The Cycles Ov Primal Kaos”. I am under Stefanie Connolli (it’s a KAOS thi...

Garden Goodness: It’s a Greenhouse!

greenhouseSo finally, after several years of putting it off, my husband and I finally put up the greenhouse kit we bought several years ago for about $250 (with a coupon – Harbor Freight!). I’m rather excited about it. As a novice Rocky Mountain gardener, one of the biggest annoyances I’ve encountered with the garden is that our growing season is never long enough. Once everything finally starts growing like crazy, September hits, we get a cold snap, and I lose entire tomato plants filled with tomatos....

I Hate My Mac Part 2

Late last year I wrote a little post about why I hate my Mac. While I still hate my Mac because it’s still really uncomfortable to write on, I’m beginning to RESENT my Mac.

I resent it because I spent over $1K on it and it was like flushing that money down the toilet. I still prefer my Dell laptop to the Mac just because of the full size keyboard. What can I say? I have large stubby fingers and no grace whatsoever.

Also – all my writing programs are now currently on my Dell. I can’t talk myself...

Progress

We had two choices for this month’s Merry-Go-Round Blog Tour topic. We could discuss current projects or progress. Since I already posted a current projects post just a week or so ago, progress it is!

Progress, for me, is a crap-shoot. It really depends on how the story is flowing on any given day.Sometimes I need more time to mull things over. But here’s an interesting question – what is progress?

I contend that progress can be measured in more than word counts or “things” crossed off the to-d...

Relax, it’s only fiction…

DOM359You know how there’s always that one person who just doesn’t get it? Well, sometimes this happens with readers, too. With my OTS series, I can’t begin to tell you how many people think the novels are actually autobiographical. More than once I’ve had people approach me and ask if I know Senator XXX, or this or that actor. I’ve even had people contact me to ask if there were any murder cases I was working on. While I pride myself on a certain level of occult realism for the OTS series, they ar...

Immersion

immersionImmersion. It’s one of those things I’ve always done before writing anything non-fiction. It’s also what I try to do when I’m writing fiction. Of course it means different things depending on what I’m writing.

For example, with non-fiction, I certainly don’t know everything. I never will as I’m forever a student. It was Socrates who said that admitting one’s ignorance was the beginning of wisdom. After all, you can’t learn from a place where you think you know everything.

When it comes to magic...

The Castle Sedgebrook Series and More…

HerDemon WeddingSo it’s official. My editors and the betas loved the first book so much, that The Castle Sedgebrook Series is a go. The first book is Her Demon Lover(available)and the second is Her Demon Wedding (currently being written). Of course don’t forget that I do have a few other books currently in the writing stages as well. Rising Darkness and DOM359 are also in the process of being written. Both of the latter titles should be out before September. In other news, I have a few S. Connolly books comi...
