Circling Back and Starting Over – #domagick
It’s strange because since I’ve started the preliminary work on next month’s magick, I started noticing things from the past popping up like clockwork, and not in a bad way. More of a, go-back-and-try-again-knowing-what-you-know-now, kind of way. Sometimes when we go back to the beginning, we see things we didn’t see before. Or we notice things that have always been there, things we took for granted.
Things are cyclic and cycles repeat. Right now I’m looping back 10 years. Feeling the urge to...

Yes, Meditation is a Foundational Magickal Practice #magick #occult #daemonolatry
People often misunderstand my position on things because they may have only read a single book or two of mine. To fully understand my positions, however, it is often necessary to read my entire body of work. Just because I don’t beat something to death in every guide or book I write, doesn’t mean I don’t think it’s important to some degree.
Recently, someone who started out reading my Daemonolater’s Guides asked me if I thought meditation was an important part of magickal practice. Well, if y...

Bathin upon Ashtaroth – #domagick
Bathin (or Bathym, Mathim, Marthim) is a Duke (Great Duke according to Pseudomonarchia Daemonum) of Hell, who has under his command thirty legions of demons. He knows the virtues of precious stones and herbs, and can bring men suddenly from one country to another. He helps one attain astral projection, and takes you wherever you want to go. He is depicted as a strong man with the tail of a serpent, riding a pale horse.
After serious consideration, I have decided that Bathin is a good Daemon f...

Flogging Me, Flogging You! #domagick

It’s time for me to start my research for the current #domagick challenge. One of my larger goals this year is to, at some point, do a Sorath working later in the year. But there’s a lot of prep work leading to that. After all, you don’t want to confront Sorath on something like this if you have unresolved issues. One of the things I’m considering for the challenge is work that helps me to obliterate (or at least lessen) my tendency to self-sabotage while still al...

Daily Practice – Now With Motivation! #domagick
Today I wanted to talk a little bit about the importance of doing regular magickal work. I’ve blogged about this before. Author and personal close friend of mine, Andrieh Vitimus, is starting up his new site this month (February) called Do Magick. For those of you who remember the Magickal 30 that he used to run, this is a newer incarnation of that. It’s a bit easier since participation happens in social media groups and on your own blog, twitter, or Facebook. A simple hashtag added to posts...
Marketing Fiction is a Crap-Shoot #writerslife #amwriting
I occasionally have to post an article for my tribe (i.e. writers), and this blog entry is one of those articles.
For writers who have been at this game awhile, you know that when it comes to marketing fiction, it really is a crap-shoot. The sheer number of authors seeking attention from readers is astounding, and it’s impossible for all the readers to pay attention to all the authors. Making money by selling books for a living is tough, because finding an audience for fiction is tough.
Non-f...

Serial: Home is Where the Haunt Is [Part 1] (A Haunted Cottage Mystery)
Home is Where the Haunt Is – Part One by Audrey Brice
Soggy rain. Big, fat drops splattered onto his head and neck. At least his jacket was weather-proof. There wasn’t much of an overhang on the cottage so it offered little protection from the wet. Especially since the wind blew the rain sideways. Despite the damp, he squinted, shielded his eyes with his hands, and looked around. Remote, deep in the mountains of Vermont, the cottage stood at the top of a narrow, winding road half way up Deer...

Okay, so I’m sure there are more than six reasons that a Daemonic invocation could fail (in the manifestation department, both literally and figuratively). There could be any number of reasons based on the exact circumstances of said invocation/evocation (pick your poison). But I’ve found there are six very common reasons this happens.
ARROGANCE: No one likes a douche, not even Daemons. Not all Daemons respond well to being threatened, commanded, and talked down to. This is where respect for...
