Targeting Your Audience for Maximum Returns #marketing #recruiting

So it would seem this is an odd post for a writer to write for marketing and recruiting professionals, but I think they need a little help. So consider this post part of your career training. Take it from a writer — Reading and Research are Fundamental!!!

Sit down and have a cup of coffee. Let’s talk.

My husband is a software professional. He is often contacted by job recruiters whenever he’s on the job market. Sadly – none of these recruiters has ever helped him land a job. Why? Because they...

INTERVIEW WITH T. M. LAKOMY

What was the most difficult part of writing your most recent book?

Leaving it at the current ending, I wanted to continue with the character’s journey but I knew that was the perfect place to end. In a way, I wanted the reader to know what lay beyond the final chapter as it is a bewildering end. But then, I would have got carried away and ended up combining two novels in one. But the temptation was strong, I itched to show the results of the end chapter.

What was t...

When Inspiration Strikes #thirteencovens #writing #passion #LizTanner

Please note: This post may contain SPOILERS.

Last night I spent two hours in ritual and meditation and when I finally decided to close it up, I was pumped. The full ramifications of The Great Work I’ve been doing for the past 10 years (and the more recent work) fully dawned on me, and along with that, the realization of how my Audrey Brice work inspires my spiritual side and sings to my soul.

Liz Tanner (the OTS series) is my altar ego. She is outspoken, extroverted, and is constantly surroun...

Guest Post: New Release – Nightmare’s Rise #newfiction #newreleases

Excerpt

Flynn cursed.

Gingerly, he felt around in the water for his lamp. Something slippery brushed past his fingers. He was about to pull his hand out when he touched hard, molded plastic. The head-strap floated in the water above it, a buoyant plastic fastener shining in the light of Makani’s lamp. Maybe that was what had touched him a moment ago. He pulled the lamp out of the water and flicked the switch.
Dead.

“Crap,” he muttered. “Did you see that?” He turned to find Makani but couldn’t...

Guest Post: A Mighty Rolling Thunder #realitybender

Interview with: Kerry Alan Denney aka The Reality Bender

What is your favorite thing about being a writer?
Thanks for starting me off with an easy-to-answer softball question.

No contest: My favorite part of writing is the creative process, especially when a full novel or story comes to life in my head, complete with all the elements fitting seamlessly. When my characters start speaking to me without my manipulation, dictating to me how they will react to their circumstances, what they will s...

The Black Sun: Sorath #daemonolatry #magick

Today I’m ruminating on some work that seemed larger than life at the beginning of the year, but is seeming more and more manageable. But it will require me to come up with a much more cohesive plan that will require discipline to adhere to. Last September I ran a seminar on writing productivity at one of the bigger writing conferences in the region, and I’m realizing now that even then – I was thinking too small.  Within the next six months I may find myself with an opportunity to go big, in...

Day 30: Grand Finale #domagick

Ladies and Gentleman – I bring you the grand finale of my #domagick challenge for March. Again, I want to point out that one of the hardest parts of this entire experience was finding time to sit down and write my blog posts each day. While I’ve discovered I enjoy writing about magick, I might need to slow down on magick posts in April. I’ll try for anywhere from 1-4 posts.  Let’s start with that and move on, time allowing, of course.

So this morning I woke up feeling pretty good. Did my invo...

Serial: Home is Where the Haunt Is [Part 3] (A Haunted Cottage Mystery) #serialfiction

by Audrey Brice

Ken gave his friend a wary look. Neither of them had slept the night before, and now, Alex’s jaw was hard and his eyes distant. Maybe this wasn’t a good idea, he thought.  “You sure you still want to do this? If you wanted to get in your car and drive back down this mountain I wouldn’t blame you.”

Alex’s eyes widened. “Do you really think I’m that much of a pussy?”

“No, not at all, I just figured…”

“Look, while this is some crazy shit, I am sticking around, and I don’t think y...

Guest Post: Asian Representation: The Lack Thereof

Asian Representation: The Lack Thereof
By Erin Yoshikawa

Bad-assery does not have a gender. It does not have a color. It does not have a race, body-type, age or a sexual orientation.

Logically, this is truth. As a society with access to a million different viewpoints, we are gifted with examples of heroism in many forms. From the daily good deeds enacted by the merest child to moments of bravery in battlefields thousands of miles away, it’s easy to see how non-discriminatory bad-assery can be...

Day 29: Merging #domagick

This morning’s ritual was a little different. Today I invoked both Ashtaroth and Bathin and drew them both through me in a meditation that brought the light from both of their sigils into me. I was focusing on being calm and direct for the day since it was my first day back at the day job in six days. I know – for someone who works a part-time (full time by some people’s standards) you would think I wouldn’t need that kind of prep to head into the office, but my day job can be rather stressfu...
