Day 4: Divination Day #DoMagick

Sundays are the days I do readings, teach Daemonolatry classes, and spend time doing Daemonolatry to-do’s for others. I found having a schedule to keep to for these tasks makes them more manageable.  Just like Sundays are my divination/Daemonic for others’ days, Thursdays are days I do an extra long healing and prayer meditation for friends and fellow Daemonolaters, as well as myself. But I also manage to deal with leftover domestics as needed.

Today we cleaned out the back gutters, I did som...

Day 3: Too Many Domestics, Not Enough Hours #DoMagick

I wanted to have some awesome post for you all Saturday, but the reality is that Saturday was full of a Saturday drive (to charge our pickup battery), and domestic chores until late night. The only magick that was worked was quality time with my significant other, and our front yard now looks somewhat presentable after a long, windy, and wild winter and spring. Between gutters, weeds, mowing, cleaning window wells, and pruning roses, we had a lot to do.  Next weekend we start on the backyard,...

Guest Post: A Kingdom’s Fall #horror #newreleases #newfiction

Author Interview

What genre(s) do you write and why?

My work resides in the horror realm and all its subgenres. A gross-out gag, splatterpunk shock, or spine-tingling chill makes us remember we’re alive. And knowing my work makes some people’s genitalia retract into their innards gives me wood.

What was the most difficult part of writing your most recent book?

Finding time to write the third book in The Human-Undead War trilogy proved a chore. I had to decline offers for short story contribut...

Day 2: Get Your Sh*t Together! #DoMagick

Getting things done relies heavily on scheduling and knowing how long it takes you to do something. The problem with creativity, however, is most creatives can’t always just turn it on and off like a switch. So we may struggle fitting our creative work into a disciplined, rigid schedule. I do some of my best creative work between 9PM and midnight, but I guarantee you that if I scheduled that block as writing time – I’d be struggling to get anything done during my peak writing hours.  There ar...

Day 1: It Begins… #domagick

Today begins the June #domagick challenge.  I am not so sure I’m ready. I started off the month visiting a friend in hospice and I’m one of those people who, if emotionally compromised, has a hard time focusing for the rest of the day.  So that’s been my day in a nutshell.

Thus begins the melding of the two things I love most in the world.  Writing stories and magick.

I decided that I will be starting my first bit of magick this weekend and for the first two days of the challenge (tonight and...

Fiction, Deadlines, and Writing News #freefiction #reading #amwriting

Admittedly I am a few months behind on Home is Where the Haunt Is, and I may be a little late with the next installment of Tales from Black Lily (even though it’s been started).  But rest assured I will complete as many installments of these stories as humanly possible this year while hunting down writing deadlines and slaying them.

Research – Key Focus + Sigils #domagick

Foundational Sigil of Sorath

There are several keywords I’ll be focusing on next month. I’ll be making a sigil for each one.

Drawing – New Opportunities + Attention. Acclaim – For existing and forthcoming projects. Inspiration – For new projects.

For stability, I’ll be employing the foundational sigil of Sorath. I’ll also be using the primary planetary sigil of the spirit of the Sun. Clearly I’ll be using planetary squares (The Sun) in the creation of all of the seals.

Of course with this k...

When Life Requires Prioritization #scheduling #spoons

Recently it came to my attention that some folks have mistaken my dedication to my own work, and minding my own business, as not having the time to be bothered with participating in online occult discussions. While I don’t owe anyone an explanation – I think it’s important that I address this because statements like this suggest that maybe I don’t really care about my readers and fellow Daemonolaters and that couldn’t be further from the truth.

When I say I have very little time most days to...
