Hey there, White Guy With Cornrows. I dig your braids and your pimp-size diamond earrings. But the cable-knit sweater and "pumpkin spice latte" seem to tell a different story. I'm so confused.

Watching the VMAs instead of being there...

During my time at MTV, there were several years I worked on the VMAs. I'd spend the weeks leading up to it with a really fun crew, writing jokes for the hosts or presenters to say. Then I'd spend that night wearing a headset, running around like a chicken with my head cut off, wondering if someone would get into a fight, someone would have a "wardrobe malfunction" or if DMX would even show up. (Sidenote: he was a no show TWICE)

Granted, it's been a few years and the channel has changed...

I guess my mom used to play for the Cleveland Browns. Who knew?...

Love & prayers to all who lost friends & family on 9/11 and eternal gratitude to the brave rescue men & women who gave their lives to help.

Ground Zero is not a tourist attraction and it's certainly not a place to make jokes at the expense of people who were profoundly affected.

Those of us who were in New York that day view it differently than those who saw it on TV.

Those of us who went to funeral after funeral after funeral… view it differently. 

Those of us who breathed in the unrecognizable and unforgettable smell of destruction and burning human...
