Supersuckers "Get The Hell" celebrates 25 years
Supersuckers "Get The Hell"to be released on January 14th
The band celebrates 25 years of punk rockwith their first studio album in 5 years!
The Supersuckers ninth studio album is a blistering return to their punk rock roots. Featuring 12 new soon-to-be Supersuckers classics,
Get The Hell
is a tightly-focused sonic assault of big riffs, catchy hooks and raw, balls-to-the-wall rock n' roll, dripping in attitude, head-bobbing chord progressions and their trademark, tongue-in-cheek lyrics.
Recorded at Willie Nelson's famed Arlyn Studio in Austin, TX and mixed by Dwarves leader Blag Dahlia and Andy Carpenter, Get The Hell conjures all the attitude of a band in it's prime, kicking out snarling, anthemic choruses over head-bobbing chord progressions.
"Get The Hell", the opening title track, fires a warning shot across the bow, with singer Eddie Spaghetti offering his road weary wisdom over the menacing groove of recent addition, drummer Captain Von Streicher (of Throw Rag fame). "You wanna hear about the evil and the wicked things/I'd love to tell you, but I can't because of what it brings", before finishing the sentiment in true Supersuckers form, "When you're staring down the mouth of this unruly beast/You might crap your pants or wet 'em at the very least."
On the remainder of Get The Hell , the Supersuckers spin tales of romantic debauchery ("High Tonight"), biblically proportioned excess ("Gluttonous"), hard-boiled obsession ("Something About You") and the trials and tribulations of being a total fuck up ("Fuck Up"). Never one to shy away from a good (and completely unexpected) cover song, the 'Suckers exhibit their sonic dominance tackling Gary Glitter's "Rock On" and soft rocker's Depeche Mode's popular "Never Let Me Down Again".
Since their 1992 Sub Pop debut, the Supersuckers have toured relentlessly, sharing stages around the world with Social Distortion, Bad Religion, The Ramones, Motörhead, Flogging Molly, Butthole Surfers, Reverend Horton Heat, New York Dolls, The Dwarves, White Zombie and Nashville Pussy. They have also recorded with Steve Earle, Eddie Vedder, Kelley Deal (The Breeders) and Willie Nelson, who they also backed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The band is doing numerous interviews in promotion of Get The Hell and their 25th anniversary.

U.S. TOUR DATES CONFIRMED
“pure rock ‘n’ roll”—KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic
“In this millennium, there are seldom few ‘rock bands’ creating music with a shelf-life. Band of Skulls appear to be in this game for the long haul.”—Paste
Band of Skulls’ new album, Himalayan , will be released April 1 and is now available for pre-order (Electric Blues Recordings via Kobalt Label Services). Already receiving critical acclaim, NME selected the debut single, “Asleep At The Wheel,” as one of their “20 Essential New Tracks,” praising, “Like The Black Keys at their meanest, it stomps away before propelling itself into a riff of Black Sabbath standards…” Additionally, the single’s official music video recently premiered at Vevo .
In celebration of the release, the band will perform special shows in L.A. (on sale December 13 at 1:00 P.M. EST) and Brooklyn (on sale December 13 at 12:00 P.M. EST) followed by a headlining European tour. An extensive tour of North America will be announced soon. See below for complete details.
Produced by Nick Launay (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arcade Fire, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds), the album was recorded during the summer of 2013 in Richmond, London at State of the Ark studios.
The new album follows 2012’s Sweet Sour, which debuted at #14 on the U.K. album chart and received widespread acclaim—NME praised, “Proficient, precision-executed blues-rock,” while Consequence of Sound praised, “sizzles with muscle-driven, sludgy honest-to-goodness rock.” In the years since, the band has toured alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys, The Dead Weather and Muse and sold-out two headlining shows at London’s The Roundhouse and Brixton Academy.

TOURING THIS WINTER IN SUPPORT OF UPCOMING ALBUM BADILLAC

together PANGEA is excited to debut the video for "Cat Man," off their upcoming album Badillac , out January 21, 2014 on Harvest Records. The clip premiered via Stereogum , who called the track "a raunchy, ear-searing anthem that will elicit delight from fans of Black Lips, FIDLAR, and Nirvana...gear up for one of 2014's wildest records." Animated by Shelby Hohl, the NFSW videofeatures flying disembodied eyeballs, pentagram tattooed paws, a go-go dancer flanked cat-devil, and more debauchery perfectly fitting the lurching, scorching track. The video is available for postingHERE, and Badillac is now available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon.
This winter, together PANGEA will head out on a headlining tour in support of Badillac. The tour, which features Mozes and the Firstborn as support, begins on February 1st at Last Exit in Tempe and wraps up on March 5th at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco. Full tour dates are below.
together PANGEA do rock 'n' roll as it was meant to be - raw, unpredictable, and probably dangerous, but also blazing with intelligence, emotion, and edgy experimentation. The Los Angeles-based trio made their bones as purveyors of post-millennial punk, but with their third full-length release - and Harvest Records debut - Badillac, they pay their debt to the supersonic 90s rock that first inspired them. The band has not sacrificed a spurt of precious energy, instead integrating nuance and dynamic momentum to songs like "No Way Out" and the undeniably badass title track. The volcanic riffs and massive melodies are matched by an equally provocative lyrical stance, with songs like "Sick Shit" and the album-closing "Where The Night Ends" casting an acerbic eye over the wreckage of the party they helped start - it's 3am and the drunken fun has given way to sexual panic, anxiety and self-doubt. Slightly stoned but by no means slack, Badillac reveals together PANGEA to be both confident and surprisingly committed, their audacious ambition already impossible to contain.
"It might be confusing for people, assuming we're like this garage punk band and then hearing this record," says singer/songwriter/guitarist William Keegan. "But we really don't want to get trapped at all."
Keegan first started writing and recording in his Santa Clarita bedroom, his teenage tapes eventually coming to full flower with the aid of bassist Danny Bengston and drummer Erik Jimenez. Known then simply as Pangea, the band played countless beer blasts in and around CalArts, their boozy mayhem and breakneck pop hooks quickly earning them frenzied crowds throughout the Southern California DIY scene and beyond. A string of seven-inches, cassettes, and LPs - including 2011's ace second album, Living Dummy, released by Burger Records and The Smell's Olfactory label - followed, as did gigs alongside a veritable who's-who of like-minded rockers, including Ty Segall, Mikal Cronin, Wavves, and The Black Lips (not to mention 2013's epic "Burgerama Caravan of Stars" US tour).
Badillac was recorded with their longtime producer/engineer Andrew Schubert over three intensive sessions at his Tarzana studio, their roster augmented by second guitarist Cory Hanson (of the electronic pop outfit, W-H-I-T-E). While many bands in their position would have simply continued banging out the party punk, together PANGEA decided to throw a curveball at themselves and their fervent fanbase.
"We wrote like 30 plus songs for this record," Bengston says, "half of which have the same punky bubblegum vibe of our last record. Then we had this other batch of songs, a little more melancholy, a little heavier, a little darker. I think in the end we just decided to try to not make the same record twice."
"When I write, there are certain songs that I feel fit the band," Keegan says, "and then there are songs where it doesn't feel like they fit. At some point, I was like, maybe we should try some of the songs that don't necessarily fit. Because I realized that they do fit - they're just different."
Though Keegan cites such unexpected heroes as Pete Seeger and 21st Century K Records artists like Little Wings and the Microphones, he fully fesses up to Badillac's most primal inspirations. Indeed, songs like "Why" and the cello-laced "No Way Out" fuse classic post punk ambivalence with fist-pumping stadium rock, their neurotic hooks, throat-rending vocals, and fat, distorted riffs hearkening back to the glory days of the alternative nation.

We are pleased to share details on behalf of Dum Dum Girls 2014 North American headlining tour, in support of Too True, their forthcoming album. The trek begins March 7th in San Diego, CA at the Casbah and currently ends on April 8th in San Francisco, CA at The Independent, and they are supported by Blouse.
Preceding the March tour is Dum Dum Girls previously announced later winter 2013 European tour, which kicks-off tonight, December 10th in Amsterdam, NL at Paradiso and ends December 15th in Athens, GR at AN Club. Additionally, there are two sold-out, week of release shows to mention: January 28th in Los Angeles, CA at The Echo and January 30th in New York, NY at the Mercury Lounge (seePitchfork News Story December 10th).
Please find a complete list of tour dates below.
Too True, the Dum Dum Girls third album will be available on CD/LP/DL on January 27th in Europe and January 28th in North America via Sub Pop. The 10 track album features the singles “Lost Boys And Girls Club,” “Are You Okay,” and ““Rimbaud Eyes,” and was produced by Richard Gottehrer (Blondie, The Go-Go’s, Richard Hell), Sune Rose Wagner (The Raveonettes) and engineered by Alonzo Vargas at East West Studios in Los Angeles and The Coven in New York City.
What People Are Saying About Dum Dum Girls:
“Lost Boys” is the perfect picture of what’s to come — deep cascading guitar riffs underneath a heavy gauze of reverb, the dankest possible bassline, and breathy “uh-uh”s playing backup to Dee Dee singing about exes and hexes with barbed charm.” [5 Best Songs Of The Week, “Lost Boys and Girls Club”] - Stereogum
“"Lost Boys and Girls Club" deepens the sound carved out on 2012's End of Daze EP with gothy drama, heroin chic, and maybe even a touch of Pat Benatar.” [Video Review, “Lost Boys and Girls Club”] - SPIN
“...Its deliberately heroic guitar lick and slow-mo drum march accompanying anthemic, Pat Benatar-channeling vocals.” [Track Review, “Lost Boys and Girls Club”] - Pitchfork
“It’s a distortion-heavy, multi-layered slow burner; frontwoman Dee Dee’s vocals preside over the proceedings, her verbose, eerie lyrics (“your eyes are black X’s of hate and of hexes”) delivered with chilly, shimmering precision. All in all, it’s a perfect soundtrack for next time you’re walking to your coven meeting (which might look something like the track’s video).” [Track Review, “Lost Boys and Girls Club”] - Pretty Much Amazing
“How far Dum Dum Girls have come from their days of bashing out two-chord rockers in the garage. Even the glamtastic artwork for their forthcoming LP, Too True (due January 29th via Sub Pop), speaks to the band’s artistic maturation...it returns to the pop hooks that initially earned Dum Dum Girls a spot in Sub Pop’s iconic stable.” [Top 10 MP3s of the Week, “Lost Boys & Girls Club”] - Consequence of Sound Tour Dates

Eternal Summers Announce New Studio LP 'The Drop Beneath'

NEW YORK, NY – Roanoke, Virginia’s Eternal Summers are excited to announce The Drop Beneath , brand new full-length studio album due out on March 4th, 2014 via their longtime label Kanine Records. The record was funded by an extremely successful PledgeMusiccampaign, which quickly reached its goal shortly after launching. In addition to facilitating the making of the album, Eternal Summers invited fans to be a part of the creative process and used fan ideas in both naming the record and the album art. The Drop Beneath was produced by Doug Gilliard of Guided by Voices and Nada Surf and recorded, engineered and mixed by Louie Lino (also of Nada Surf) at Resonate Studios in Austin, TX.
Born out of the artist collective the Magic Twig Community in Roanoke Virginia, Singer/Guitarist Nicole Yun and drummer Daniel Cundiff began making music together in the late 2000s. After self-releasing one EP, they were picked up by renowned Brooklyn independent label Kanine Records. Kanine has been an integral part of indie rock’s upper echelon, releasing albums from artists like Chairlift, Grizzly Bear, The Blow and Surfer Blood since opening their bedroom doors in 2002. After releasing their debut LP Silver in 2010, Eternal Summers hit the road to support the release. While touring, Yun’s guitar was stolen and without it, the duo found their sound lacking a full low end. Jonathan Woods, who had introduced Yun and Cundiff in Roanoke a few years earlier, jumped on board as Eternal Summers’ permanent bassist and has been with the band since. After the addition of Woods, they immediately went into the studio to record their sophomore LP Correct Behavior.
With Jonathan in the mix, Correct Behavior was Eternal Summers’ first release as a fully realized three piece. The fullness and maturity of the record didn’t go without notice – as Pitchfork noted, “Correct Behavior feels like the band's breakout album, and not just because it showcases a bigger sound — but for the much more literal reason that a lot of these songs are about breaking out.” OnThe Drop Beneath, Eternal Summers continues along that path with an even more expanded sound. Feeling fully at home and empowered as a three piece with Woods on bass, Yun has become a more compelling guitarist and Cundiff’s energetic drumming is more visceral.
The Drop Beneath is due out on March 4th, 2014. The band has several northeast dates remaining in 2013 before heading south for the holidays, all confirmed dates listed below. For the most up to date information, check https://www.facebook.com/eternalsummers.

"with the video, the Toronto-based band hopes to offer social commentary on wealth and youth, illustrating the absurdities that come with the monotony of life" - NOISEY
The Darcys reveal the third video from their highly acclaimed Arts & Crafts full-length, Warring, today via Noisey. Directed by Peter Hadfield and Eliza Brownie, "Itchy Blood" is a post-modern look at the ruinous effects of wealth on youth soundtracked by one of the more reflective and hard-hitting songs from Warring.
"Inspired by David Hamilton's hazy photography, Bret Easton Ellis' Less Than Zero, and childhood memories, the video for The Darcy's "Itchy Blood" is intended to pull the viewer into the opulent, pastel-drenched world or two teenage girls who are left to their own devices in a mid-century modern mansion," said Director, Peter Hadfield of the inspiration behind the video. "Fluctuating between playful, after-school daydream and vapid reality, the video is a social commentary on the detrimental and disenchanting effects of wealth on youth, and the ability to escape into one's imagination."
