Glasvegas On Tour Now! - Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson

On Tuesday March 4th, they will be welcomed back to The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson to perform a track from their critically acclaimed new studio albumLater...When The TV Turns To Static. Lead vocalist and songwriter, James Allan says of the album..."think about night time; the TV has turned to static, I think of somebody alone...who's got no company because if they had, the TV wouldn't be at static, someone would change the channel. So something is not quite right; out of balance, basically. There's a lot of those sentiments running through this album."

Released in September 2013, Later...When The TV Turns To Static is Glasvegas' third studio album. Written and produced by James Allan, this ten track 45 minute sojourn of heartfelt melancholia and broken relationships is set against a backdrop of scorching soundscapes that lift the soul into heights of abandoned euphoria.
The album is available in multiple formats including standard CD, Gatefold 180 gram white LP and a Deluxe Almanac Edition with bonus DVD featuring a semi-acoustic performance at Glasgow's 19th Century Adelaide Baptist Church.

One of the City of Angels' favorite bands, Silversun Pickups, have confirmed an appearance on one of the city's favorite shows, Jimmy Kimmel Live. The appearance is set for tonight at 11:35pm/10:35pm CT. The band will perform "Cannibal," the new hit song from their soon-to-be-released album, The Singles Collection, featuring all of the band's singles throughout their decade-long career. In addition, the sinister and mystifying official music video for "Cannibal," directed by Suzie Vlcek, will premiere on Jimmy Kimmel Live's YouTube page immediately following the show. This marks the first time that a music video from a guest has ever aired on the Kimmel website in conjunction with a performance. On February 25, the band will appear at Amoeba Records in Hollywood, CA, for an in store appearance and acoustic performance to celebrate the release The Singles Collection. The event will be live streamed on Amoeba's website and the band will stay after the performance for a meet and greet and signing. Silversun Pickups is among the most dynamic and creative rock bands of the post-millennial era, hailed far and wide for their inimitable merging of ethereal melodies and pure sonic force. From the indie rock opening salvo of 2005's PIKUL EP to 2012's visionary NECK OF THE WOODS, each successive release has seen the Silverlake, California-based band venture into uncharted terrain, bravely pushing their imagination and ability towards new and surprising summits. Ambitious and anthemic, tracks like "Panic Switch" and "Lazy Eye" have proven indelible classics, a guarantee of rare danger and invention amidst the anodyne dross of much contemporary rock. What's more, the indefatigable quartet have made it their mission to bring their unique music to the people, touring the planet nearly non-stop to reach a devoted and ever-growing international fan following. Now, as they prepare to embark on their next creative voyage, Silversun Pickups pause for a last look back at the musical milestones that have marked their journey thus far.

Don’t Miss Tiny Hearts at SXSW (details to come)
As an accompaniment to their debut Stay EP , Los Angeles based trio Tiny Heartsreleased a music video for “Snow Cold” via Vice HERE.
Dede from Tiny Hearts had this to say about it: "The video documents a journey of a character from the depths of an underground garage to the edge of civilization. The dreamlike bokeh offers a study in binary sequence as the simple code and structure of a technologically advanced society. Lights blink off and on, smeared and unfocused, bubbling and reflecting the buzzing analog synthesis of the music."
And Vice described their music "...singer Dede applies her glacially seductive tones to the hypnotic, synth-stuttered, Moroder-esque single "Snow Cold"". Earlier, the trio performed and previewed the Stay EP in an invite only Boiler Room session at LA's HVW8 gallery.
The comrades of Tiny Hearts (Waajeed, Dede Reynolds, Tim K) met at a bar beneath the J train in New York City. Cadillac margaritas and invisible hands pushed the three to a southside basement for a late night listening session. Resulting remixes led to original mixes, and the group was formed. The result: a reflection of intention.
Waajeed, a founding member of Detroit's Slum Village and Platinum Pied Pipers, was in a period of deep introspection when he met Brooklyn duo DEDE (Dede Reynolds and Tim K). As a key figure in the collaboration, he shapes the sonic palette now known as Tiny Hearts. Tim K is a jazz-trained producer and composer bringing a unique melodic sensibility and lyrical identity to the Hearts. He is the glue of the trio. Dede Reynolds, a nomadic chanteuse, contributes her icy pure vocal texture, creating the stark contrast to Waajeed's gritty tracks that defines the sound. Her love of French pop, vintage fashion and Italian horror shapes the auditory and visual representation of the band.
The group debuted on the DIRT TECH RECK takeover on Benji B's BBC radio show in late 2012. Circulation and word of mouth created a buzz, resulting in support from KCRW's Garth Trinidad, Aaron Byrd and Anthony Valadez, KEXP's DJ Alex, as well as other radio and club DJs across the globe. Tiny Hearts were then featured as essential emerging artists in KCRW, NPR, and LA Canvas.
Stay , the first EP from Tiny Hearts, is the result of two years of trans-continental collaboration, studio incubation, and friendship. The four-song debut is as hard as it is soft, as Detroit as it is L.A., equally well suited for seriously getting down or not-so-seriously kicking back with a glass of something.

Punk In Africa traces multi-racial punk movement
Punk In Africa Available on DVD on March 11th
Three chords, three countries, one revolution... "An interesting companion piece to Searching for Sugar Man" - VARIETY
PUNK IN AFRICA
is the story of the multi-racial punk movement within the recent political and social upheavals experienced in three Southern African countries: South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
In these societies, the punk subculture represented a genuinely radical political impulse, playing out against a backdrop of intense political struggle, economic hardship and even civil war.
PUNK IN AFRICA traces this until-now untold story from its roots in the underground rock music of early 1970s Johannesburg, the first multi-racial punk bands formed in the wake of the Soweto Uprising and the militant anti-apartheid hardcore and post-punk bands of the 1980s to the rise of celebratory African-inspired ska bands which sprang up from Cape Town to Maputo in the democratic era of the 1990s. Today, an emerging generation of bands continue to draw on this legacy to confront the political challenges of contemporary Zimbabwe and the uncertain identity issues of the Afrikaans minority in South Africa.
Featuring music, interviews and rare and unseen archive footage of Suck, Wild Youth, Safari Suits, Power Age, National Wake, KOOS, Kalahari Surfers, The Genuines, Hog Hoggidy Hog, Fuzigish, Sibling Rivalry, 340ml, Panzer, The Rudimentals, Evicted, Sticky Antlers, Freak, LYT, Jagwa Music, Fruits and Veggies, Swivel Foot and more...

J. Spaceman & Kid Millions LP+7" - Record Store Day 2014
Live at Le Poisson Rouge
Northern Spy Records
19 April 2014

On September 11, 2013, J. Spaceman (Jason Pierce of Spiritualized and Spacemen 3) and Kid Millions (John Colpitts of Oneida, Man Forever, People of the North) took a night off of their US tour with Spiritualized to perform an improvised set at (Le) Poisson Rouge, in Greenwich Village. Northern Spy was there to document the show. The resulting 12" LP with an accompanying 7" will be limited to 3000 copies and released for Record Store Day 2014 (April 19).
Throughout their respective careers, both Spaceman and Millions have navigated the various sub-genres that fall within the rock and experimental labels, and, on this album, we find the two artists exploring elements of their counterparts' prior work in a fresh and unique way. Spaceman uses Millions' free style of drumming as a cue to eschew the pop melodies and structures he worked with on his last release, 2012's, Sweet Heart, Sweet Light.
The record's first side - titled "Misha" - features 24-minutes of Spacemans minimal guitar and piano parts along with Millions eclectic, yet subtle drumming. The pairing of these elements yields a dreamy and celestial atmosphere that could compare with anything from Spacemans famously mind-altering catalog.
Side two of the 12" - titled "Han" - focuses more on the chaotic nature of the two musicians past. Spaceman makes use of his distortion, tremolo and wah-wah pedals, while Millions goes into full freakout mode on the drums, never allowing the audience to fully lock into a groove. The duo steadily builds and eases tension, keeping the listener fully engaged over the tracks 21-and-a-half minute runtime.
As mentioned before, accompanying the LP will be a 7" featuring two cuts - "New York" and "London" - that showcase Spaceman's more rock inspired noise stylings and Millions' absolute disregard for consistency and predictability.
With this record, it is clear just how complementary this pairing is. In just under an hour, Spaceman and Millions explore the ethereal and tumultuous sides of music, showing the transfixing nature that both stylings possess. This is Spacemans first performance alone with Millions, and his first improvised duo release with a drummer. Lets hope this is just a small preview of what is to come from a Spaceman/Millions pairing.

Mother Falcon To Release Radiohead's "OK Computer" live
Mother Falcon Releases Live Recording of Radiohead’sOK Computer March 18
Band Announces Multiple Shows During SXSW

“…a group that can juggle more than a dozen discrete components while still crafting impeccable, surprisingly airy three-minute pop songs.” – NPR
“The band's intricate orchestral arrangements segue with ease from passage to passage, and often, not to the place you might expect.”
– WNYC
The buzz that sets in at the beginning of Radiohead’s “Airbag” – in the original version a serrating guitar riff, amplified by Mother Falcon’s string section – comes on like a swarm of ferocious bees. If you’ve had the pleasure to see this Austin’s indie rock ensemble’s live rendition, know exactly what that means and what vigorous, hauntingly complex story is about to unfold. The band’s uniquely intense interpretations of Radiohead has become a legendary part of experiencing Mother Falcon live. So it is with great pleasure that the band prepares to release their live adaptation of OK Computer for the world to enjoy.
The young group, comprised of a rotating ensemble of 15 to 20 musicians, boasts three cellos, six violins, horns a plenty, several pianos, a bassoon and a glockenspiel – which created a huge buzz during SXSW 2013 and received praise from NPR, USA Today,NYLON, Paste, and more for their latest album You Knew. Relentless touring throughout 2013 garnered additional press accolades; along the way Mother Falcon collaborated with a wide range of artists, including Amanda Palmer, Alejandro Escovedo, Jherek Boschoff, Ben Sollee and Tony Trishka.
This new recording accentuates how beautifully Mother Falcon thrives in their live performances. "We'd never really performed many covers in the past, and so this was our first serious engagement with the work of other artists”, says Maurice Chammah of the band. “At our summer camp, we had taught students how to cover songs, but we'd never done it as Mother Falcon. By facing the challenge of translating music that's heavy on electronics and guitar solos into our orchestral palette, we gained a lot of self-reflection about how we construct our own music. Some of our renditions sound pretty similar to the original tracks, but in some cases, like on the songs 'Let Down' and 'The Tourist,' we tried to extract the essential elements of the music and reinvent them into something distinctly our own." These performances have not only won over audiences across the US, but they were also cited as one of Bob Boilen's "15 Essential Moments From SXSW 2013" and Stephen Thompson’s “favorite young band of the festival's opening night.”
With their release of Radiohead’s OK Computer on March 18, Mother Falcon takes another ambitious step forward.

Chinese Noise Punk Carsick Cars to Release New Album
Carsick Cars
Coming to North America on the Heels of Their 3rd Studio Album
3
(Maybe Mars, February 28)
Track "15 Minutes Older" for Fans

"A nervy, consonant euphoria" - New York Times
"The trio careens from spiky punk-pop to all-out noise bliss and back" - Village VoiceCarsick Cars is one of the most established indie rock bands in China. Their much anticipated third studio album 3, produced by Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3 and Hamish Kilgour of The Clean, in New York, is set to be released on February 28th, on . For a FREE MP3 of the track "15 Minutes Older" to download and share, please click .

Formed in 2005, almost from the very beginning Carsick Cars has been at the center of the musical explosion in Beijing and has received a mixture of snarling opprobrium, especially from some of their elders, and near-fanatic enthusiasm from their rapidly growing fan base among culturally sophisticated but alienated young Chinese around the country.
Their 20-city tour of China in March 2009 with label-mates The Gar has already passed into Chinese musical history as one of the key events in the development of the Chinese independent music scene, and their shows indicate how for many in the young audience Carsick Cars “belongs” to them as much as the young Bob Dylan “belonged” to his fans in the mid 1960s. Besides being one of the most admired and written-about bands in China, they have also received a huge amount of attention from musicians and critics in Europe and North America, having played in numerous festivals, most notably All Tomorrow’s Parties in the UK and the Primavera Sound in Barcelona, and toured with Sonic Youth in Europe.
Their second studio album was the long-awaited You Can Listen, You Can Talk a follow up of two years of explosive and almost joyful anger evoked in their first album, Panda Noise. Produced by P.K.14 frontman Yang Haisong, their first CD threw out into the Chinese indie scene some of its most iconic songs, including “Zhongnanhai”, widely seen as the anthem of disenfranchised Chinese youth, and “Rock and Roll Hero”, a standard for younger bands.

Morrissey To Embark On U.S. Concert Tour

MORRISSEY TO EMBARK ON U.S. CONCERT TOUR MAY 7 IN SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA INCLUDING PERFORMANCES AT THEATERS, OPERA HOUSES, CONCERT HALLS AND ARENAS
ARTIST’S FIRST NEW ALBUM IN FIVE YEARS TO BE RELEASED LATER IN 2014
Globally-renowned recording and performing artist Morrissey will embark on an extensive U.S. Tour on May 7 in San Jose at the City National Civic Center Auditorium. The tour will continue across the country through June 21, when it concludes in Brooklyn, New York at Barclays Center Arena. The tour of more than two-dozen performances will include dates at renowned theaters, opera houses, concert halls and arenas, affirming the artist’s unique relationship with his fans built on a 30-year recording and performing career that enables him to command the stage at venues of every kind.
Morrissey’s special guest on all dates will be singer, songwriter and keyboardist Kristeen Young, with Tom Jones joining Morrissey as support artist in Los Angeles and Sir Cliff Richard as support artist in New York City.
The tour dates will come on the heels of Morrissey’s completion of his forthcoming Harvest Records debut album – the artist’s first since 2009’s Years Of Refusal -- recorded in France with producer Joe Chiccarelli. Joining Morrissey on tour will be his longtime band, including Boz Boorer (guitar), Jesse Tobias (guitar), Solomon Walker (bass), Matthew Walker (drums) and Gustavo Manzur (keyboards).
's recent Autobiography became one of the fastest-selling memoirs in the UK upon its release in October and set first-week sales records when it entered the UK charts at #1 (a slot it held for five weeks). Its release also marked the first time a living author had been published by Penguin Classics in the imprint’s nearly-70-year history. Autobiography has been widely acclaimed, with The Telegraph calling it “the best written musical autobiography since Bob Dylan’s Chronicles” in its 5-star review.
Morrissey’s solo career began in 1988, after the dissolution of The Smiths, with the release of Viva Hate. His influence on music and culture has continued to grow over the past 25 years through the release of nine globally acclaimed studio albums and an array of singles, rarities collections and live recordings. He is renowned as one of the world’s most legendary and influential performing artists of all time, recently exemplified in last year’s concert film, Morrissey 25: Live, recorded in March 2013 at a rare intimate show at Hollywood High School in Los Angeles.
The Independent famously wrote that "most pop stars have to be dead before they reach the iconic status he has reached in his lifetime" and Pitchfork regards him as "one of the most singular figures in Western popular culture.”
