(September 4, 2025) - A landmark in AIR’s discography and the haunting sonic backdrop to Sofia Coppola’s debut film, The Virgin Suicides marks its 25th anniversary with a new edition. Originally released in 2000 and mixed digitally, the album returns as The Virgin Suicides Redux, featuring a brand-new analog mix crafted from the original tapes by its original mixer, Stéphane ‘Alf’ Briat. This updated mix enriches and expands the album’s ethereal soundscapes, which, like the cult-classic film it accompanies, have only grown more resonant over time.

Speaking about why the duo wanted to revisit the album, Nicolas Godin explains: We made the album in 1999 on a very low budget. It was during the first era of digital home studio equipment, and the sound is very metallic and cold, and I’ve always regretted that about the way it sounds. So we’ve remixed it to make it into something warmer, more organic. Now it sounds how it always was meant to sound.

Last year, AIR reunited with Thomas Mars of Phoenix to perform their iconic single “Playground Love” at the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony as well as on the rooftop of Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. The song itself was never planned—it was written at the eleventh hour when the filmmaker asked for a true end-credits theme. AIR turned to their friends in Phoenix, with Mars lending his lyrics and voice, and even brought in a 17-year-old saxophonist who delivered a one-take solo inspired by Lou Reed’s “Walk On the Wild Side.” What began as a last-minute addition became the soundtrack’s defining single—intimate, soulful, and unexpectedly timeless.

The Virgin Suicides Redux will be released on September 26th across all streaming platforms, alongside a full analog vinyl edition and a deluxe 2-CD/Blu-ray digipack. The CD bundle features the new analog mix, a Dolby Atmos spatial audio Blu-ray of the album, and a collection of previously unreleased rarities and demos.

This new edition comes on the heels of AIR’s celebrated anniversary of their groundbreaking debut, Moon Safari, which was reimagined earlier this year through a remix project created in collaboration with London-based producer Vegyn. Additionally, AIR is currently in the midst of their Moon Safari Tour, having wrapped up a string of major European summer festival appearances. Including a standout appearance at Paris’ We Love Green festival, where Charli XCX joined them on stage for a surprise performance of "Cherry Blossom Girl."

They head to North America later this month, where they will feature a one-of-a-kind orchestral concert at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. From there, the acclaimed tour continues across the U.S. and Canada, with stops in San Diego, San Francisco, Chicago, and more, before concluding with a three-night residency at the Brooklyn Paramount in New York.

Just in time for spooky season when the veil gets thinner between the living and dead, the maestro of horror returns to haunt North America! Claudio Simonetti's Goblin will be performing two special headlining tours of Canada and the United States. From October 8 - 15, the horror collective will bring the score of Dario Argento's 'Suspiria' along with a screening of the film for audiences in Canada. The band is now announcing a new venue and location for the previously announced October 25 performance, which will now take place in Brattleboro, VT. In addition, three of the five Canadian dates are close to being sold out! Tickets are now on sale at THIS LOCATION.

Then, the band will cross into the states to deliver the sounds of Argento's 'Deep Red / Profondo Rosso' to a special 50th anniversary screening of the film from October 24 until the tour's epic conclusion in Los Angeles, CA on November 8 as one of featured artists for Future Ruins Music & Arts festival. Organized and curated by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, Future Ruins is a first-of-its-kind music festival: a day-long event where the world’s most influential film and television composers step out from behind the screen and onto the stage. Simonetti's Goblin will perform along with other composers who are household names such as Danny Elfman, John Carpenter and their younger contemporaries like Cristobal Tapia de Veer ('Black Mirror,' 'The White Lotus,' 'Babygirl,' etc). Punk Legends Eater Go Back To Where They Started - And Punk ’77 Comes Screaming Out To Meet Them

PUNK LEGENDS EATER GO BACK TO WHERE THEY STARTED - AND PUNK ’77 COMES SCREAMING OUT TO MEET THEMphoto by Esmé BonesLos Angeles, California: Cleopatra Records’ long-running love affair with Andy Blade and Eater is old news now. But even we reckon they’ve out-done themselves on their latest album, as founding frontman Blade looks back to his own days in the punk rock trenches, and wonders what all those other bands’ hits might have sounded like, had Eater got hold of them first. He calls the album Duplication.  But it’s a long, long way from that. Duplication itself lands on October 31. Ahead of that, though, the first single “Breakdown” is released today, and it takes us all back to a very specific time and place, to the night in November 1976 when Eater played their first gig with the Buzzcocks. “Breakdown,” says Blade, “was a song that stuck in my head immediately.  I loved its jerky delivery and lyric-spitting vibe and the fact it was so short. There was a lyric sheet of the song in the dressing room that I sneaked a look at. 'These aren't song lyrics,' I thought - 'this is a fucking essay!'' - it had so many hard to scan, extra length verses with long words/phrases I'd never heard before at just 15 years old.   “I thought - 'Now I understand what the essence of punk rock is - super fast, but also intelligent’.” SINGLE: https://orcd.co/eater_breakdown Ten songs make up the album, and to call it punk rock’s greatest hits is almost an understatement.  We are locked wholly into 1976-1977, with The Ramones’“Beat On The Brat” and the Damned’s “New Rose” also hearkening back to that earlier year.   “New Rose,” in fact, was the first British punk single ever released, and Eater's "Outside View" debut, also revisited here, was the third. (The Pistols' "Anarchy in the UK" fell in between.) photo by Esmé BonesFrom thereon, Generation X, the Saints, the Clash, Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers and the Only Ones flash past, alongside a glorious retake on what is probably the most “punk” song of them all, The Sex Pistols’ “God Save The Queen”… released to coincide with Her Majesty’s silver jubilee, and accompanied by so many tidal waves of media condemnation... has any record ever caused so much fuss? “The tracks on Duplication are essentially my favourite songs out of the seminal punk classics,” explains Blade, “before punk rock became somewhat homogenized as a formula. Whilst it is a covers album  - it is not just a covers album.  “There is a difference because I was 'there' with my band during the explosive year of 1977 -  these songs mean something to me in a visceral sense. There's a spirit to the tracks that seems to come alive as we rehearsed them. Most importantly, however, Duplication was great fun to create and I think, as a result, it is - I hope - great fun to listen to.” CD/VINYL: https://cleorecs.com/search?q=eater+duplicationDIGITAL: https://orcd.co/eater_duplication Track listing1. Now they embark on their most bold and vulnerable journey yet as the Ontario-based twins, Mercedes (she/her) and Phoenix (they/them) Arn-Horn, are set to release their highly-anticipated debut full-length,  When A Flower Doesn’t Grow , on January 30, 2026.

Today Softcult shares “16/25,” a fearless song that confronts predatory older men that groom younger women, while exposing the double standards and impossible expectations placed on them by a patriarchal society. “It points out the cognitive dissonance men perpetuate while trying to possess and control younger women,” Mercedes says.SOFTCULT - ‘16/25’ (Official Music Video) Softcult - 16/25 [official video]

When A Flower Doesn't Grow  is a self-produced, self-recorded, and fiercely independent collection of songs that detail trauma to rebirth and transformation. Its title comes from a quote by Dutch author, Alexander Den Heijer: "when a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.”

For Mercedes, those words hit during one of the most pivotal moments of her life: ending a nine-year relationship, coming out as queer, and confronting the cycles of oppression she had been internalizing for years, despite being so outspoken about empowerment. “The person I portrayed myself to be on stage was not the same person making the decisions that governed my life,” she explains. “I was root bound. I was disappearing, shrinking, withering away… and I felt ashamed of it."

As a result, this album is a conceptual work about the various stages of one’s own internal metamorphosis; written from the perspective of someone who has been radicalized by trauma, empowered by their own resilience, and who ultimately healed and blossomed into the person they were always meant to be.Photo: Kaylene WiddoesPhoto: Kaylene WiddoesMusically, Softcult continue to expand their rich blend of grunge, shoegaze, and alt-rock textures, weaving fuzz-laden riffs and dreamy soundscapes with raw, confessional lyricism. The result is both intimate and universal: a record for anyone who has ever felt trapped or diminished by their surroundings, and a rallying cry to nurture ourselves and each other in the pursuit of freedom and authenticity.
The album follows last year’s acclaimed Heaven EP, which flipped the concept of an afterlife on its head, critiquing a culture fixated on the future while ignoring the urgent need for change in the present. That release saw the duo land the cover of Spotify’s MARROW playlist (over 4.7 million followers) and embark on tours across North America, the UK, Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia. Along the way they’ve won fans in artists like Hayley Williams and Bring The Horizon’s Oli Sykes, opened for Incubus and MUSE, and earned praise from outlets including Stereogum, BrooklynVegan, Paste, Consequence, Alternative Press, Kerrang!, CBC, The Gay Times and more.
Born in the studio and committed to carving out their own universe, Softcult embody a fiercely DIY ethos. Phoenix handles production, engineering, and artwork, while Mercedes writes, produces, directs, and edits their deeply personal and impactful videos. Together they create and distribute a monthly zine, SCripture, and remain deeply engaged with their community through the Softcult Discord server. Their music and message are constant reminders that the revolution is very much alive - proof that true liberation begins when we change the environment and allow ourselves, and each other, to grow.U.S. TOUR WITH WAYSIDE:

JÁNA shares new single "Today" + debut album due 9/19

JÁNA SHARES NEW SINGLE “TODAY”

DEBUT ALBUM ORBIT OUT SEPTEMBER 19TH

JÁNA by Sofia Aedo Zahou

“Today”

LISTEN: https://awal.ffm.to/today

(September 4, 2025) - Swedish singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist JÁNA releases her new single “Today,” the third offering from her forthcoming debut album Orbit, out September 19th. A dreamy alt-R&B track, “Today” explores nostalgia, the fast pace of modern life, and the longing to pause and stay in the present. With its intimate vocals and atmospheric production, the song captures the tension between constant forward motion and the desire to hold onto fleeting moments.

“The lyrics are heavily inspired by The End of the World by Skeeter Davis, where she sings about a love that has left her. I sing more from the perspective of time slipping away, becoming nostalgic for the present, for today,” JÁNA explains.

Produced in collaboration with Erik Bodin (Little Dragon), “Today” expands JÁNA’s sonic world with shimmering textures and her signature blend of warmth and melancholy. The single follows earlier releases “Distant” and “When Time Flies”, each revealing a different facet of the emotional landscape that Orbit navigates — from numbness and heartbreak to bittersweet reflection.

With over 4M Spotify streams and past collaborations including Little Dragon, Vic Mensa, and VanJess, as well as a songwriting credit on Stormzy’s This Is What I Mean, JÁNA has already established an international presence. Her music has been featured on BBC Radio 1, COLORSXSTUDIOS, and Spotify Oyster, and she has performed at festivals including SXSW, All Points East, and Way Out West, sharing stages with Leon Bridges and Little Dragon.

This fall, she will join Yukimi Nagano (Little Dragon) on tour, bringing her new material to international stages. With Orbit, JÁNA reconnects with her roots as a guitarist and self-producing artist, presenting her most honest and present work to date.

Listen to “Today” now, ahead of the full album release on September 19th.

(September 4, 2025) - New Jersey born, Queens based artist Car Culture, the alias of Daniel Fisher (best known as Physical Therapy), announces his sophomore album Rest Here due October 9th via cult-favorite Montreal label NAFF Recordings. Alongside the album announcement, Fisher shares the title track “Rest Here.” See the official visualizer here.

Exemplifying Fisher’s wide ranging approach to production, Rest Here plays like a well-worn mixtape: ranging from fuzzy dream pop to hypnotic downtempo. The album represents an evolution for Fisher, known for his long and winding discography of dance music releases; while earlier works often touched on the emotive and melodic, Rest Here moves firmly into songwriting territory, with the addition of live instrumentation and a focus on vocals. Fisher has always approached his projects with a talent for world-building and on Rest Here, he constructs something tender and captivating. The album follows this summer’s Nothingburger EP on NAFF, which included album tracks “Coping Mechanism” and “Nothingburger,” along with two reimaginings from Purelink and Hotline TNT respectively. Purchase the Nothingburger EP on vinyl HERE

Constructed over the course of 3 years between New York and Montreal alongside a cast of collaborators – mainly long-time friend Patrick Holland – layers of guitars, drums and samples come together to build a heartsick wall of sound. These emotionally and sonically dense songs inhabit a familiar place for Fisher, somewhere between brain-rotted cognitive dissonance and tear jerking sentimentality. Warm psychedelic shoe-wave primed for emotional projection. Rest Here features Fisher’s own vocals as well as Chicago’s Squirrel Flower and London’s Ms Ray. The project also includes contributions from NAFF label co-founder Priori, and New York’s J. Albert. The album was mixed by Patrick Holland and mastered by Matt Colton. Cover Photo by Ganem Haiek with artwork and design by Jesse Osborne-Lanthier.

To coincide with the album’s release Fisher will embark on his first ever live tour, which kicks off with a release party thrown by NAFF and presented by Nina Protocol at Nowadays in New York City on October 16. Additional live dates in Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, London, Berlin and Milan will follow, see full list of upcoming shows below.

Over the course of the last 15 years, Fisher has had a prolific, zig-zagging career, releasing genre-agnostic music under a number of aliases, often on his own Allergy Season label. From his first EP on the ground breaking label Hippos In Tanks, Fisher has continually created surprising, playful electronic music. Through his DJ sets around the globe and his long running NTS Radio show, Fisher manages to weave these many threads together.

As Car Culture, Fisher brings focus to his sentimental side. In the fan-favorite Remissions mix series, he collages fuzzy folktronica, found sounds and unexpected edits into foot-gazing narratives. His productions as Car Culture are sometimes serene, sometimes heart wrenching. Zoom out and you hear tranquilizing electronica, zoom in and you find soulful songwriting. Fisher released his first LP as Car Culture, Dead Rock, in 2021, referred to by Resident Advisor as “[one of] the great ambient records to emerge from the Brooklyn-Queens techno scene.”

North American Tour Continues With Sold-Out Show At Barclays Center In Brooklyn Tonight

Today, Nine Inch Nails unveiled the official music video for their new single, "As Alive As You Need Me To Be.” The striking visual, directed by Maxime Quoilin, evokes the sense of escalating pressure heard in the song, drawing on the lyric “All these hands have got a hold of me.” Ryan Hahn served as producer and mtla.studio provided creative direction. View HERE.

"As Alive As You Need Me To Be” – hailed by The New York Times as “a return to the buzz-bomb synthesizers, stomping march beat, stereo ricochets and gut-wrenching vocals of the band’s heyday” – is the first single from TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) – and the first official music from the band in five years. Listen to "As Alive As You Need Me To Be” HERE. Pre-order the 7” vinyl HERE, which includes the B-side “EMPATHETIC RESPONSE,” another song from the album.

TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) marks the first-ever film score by Nine Inch Nails although bandmates Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have composed 20 scores under their own names, winning two Oscars, three Golden Globes, a GRAMMY® and an Emmy in the process. Set for September 19 via Interscope Records, TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is available for pre-order HERE. Disney’s TRON: Ares releases in U.S. theaters on October 10.

Last night, after Nine Inch Nails closed the first of two sold-out shows at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, the venue’s screens flipped to give fans a preview of the “As Alive As You Need Me To Be” video as they exited. The clip was also seen on screens at nearby subway stations. Singer-songwriter Grace Inspace today has shared her new single "Meteor," her debut release for TODO Records. The angelic, buoyant track features virtuostic talent Luna Li and is accompanied by an Iris Kim-directed video. "Meteor" is first release since her 2023 EP Sunshine Kid, which was featured in a Celine ad and earned support from FLOOD, Clash, The FADER, Coup De Main, and more. The song is her best work to date, keep an eye out for more Grace Inspace news in 2025.

"'Meteor' started as a mantra I would repeat to myself in moments when anxiety or pain felt endless–a reminder that whatever I was feeling was ephemeral and that I shouldn’t cower from it because it would soon subside," she explains. "I took the skeleton of the song to Luna Li and we sat crosslegged on her bed and fleshed it out, before asking Josh Mehling and Mulherin to turn it into an anthem with their production.

This song feels like a snapshot of my community in motion, made with people that aren’t just friends but pillars of my everyday life, my chosen family. Making 'Meteor' was one of the most joyful, effortless musical experiences of my life. It was my first time making something with almost all of my closest friends, theres no feeling like it in the world and now I can never go back."

Created with her closest friends, “Meteor” captures the joy and effortlessness of collaboration at its most natural. The result is a song charged with both intimacy and expansiveness, rooted in friendship and lifted by collective spirit.

"Meteor" by Grace Inspace is out today via TODO.

Grace Inspace Bio:

Grace Inspace Garner has always lived a nomadic life. LA-born and London-bred, she grew up bouncing between places with her itinerant, artist parents. True to her wanderlust spirit, much of her writing happens in an Airstream by the riverbanks of the Jedediah Smith Redwoods in Northern California, where she once spent years among weed farmers, forest rangers, and black bears. The title track of Grace’s last EP Sunshine Kid was featured in a global Celine campaign, and her music has been spotlighted by leading outlets including Clash, The Fader, and Coup De Main.

Brandi Carlile's "Returning To Myself" out October 24, title track out today

BRANDI CARLILE’S  RETURNING TO MYSELF  OUT OCTOBER 24, TITLE TRACK OUT TODAYNEW ALBUM PRODUCED BY CARLILE, ANDREW WATT, AARON DESSNER AND JUSTIN VERNON OUT ON INTERSCOPE RECORDSMUSIC VIDEO DIRECTED BY FLORIA SIGISMONDI PREMIERES TODAYalbum artwork, all photos by Collier SchorrSeptember 3, 2025—Brandi Carlile is back with her eighth studio album and first solo project in four years. After pouring herself into collaborations with musical icons and legends, the 11x GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter is looking inward, reflecting backward, and ultimately, returning home on her brand-new album,  Returning To Myself —out October 24 on Interscope Records/Lost Highway (pre-order). Produced by Carlile, Andrew WattAaron Dessner, and Justin Vernon, the album features ten songs, including the title track—out today alongside the official music video, directed by Floria Sigismondi. Watch HERE.Of “Returning To Myself,” Carlile shares,“I’m not my favorite person to spend my time with. Returning to myself is not just a lonely, but a painfully boring thing to do. So much so that I’m actually not at all interested in doing it.I prefer to double, triple, and quadruple down on co-dependency, which I’ve come to learn that outside of 12-Step programs and junior high school relationships, isn’t really that unhealthy at all…For me the key to learning to ‘be alone’ is not being alone at all. It’s being alone in a crowded room. It’s hearing an unexpected doorbell ring and wondering who has shown up to watch me read my book and bite my nails all day. That a guest can be a deep lean-in over a cheap bottle of wine or simply an eyebrow raise and a gesture toward the refrigerator while I play Zelda…where I totally choose myself with someone so close to me I can hear them relax. People want to be together in silence more than we allow in our time. It’s falling deeply in love with the car wheels on a gravel road. The possibility of the visitor. The “not being alone-ness” of it all…Togetherness has given me everything I love about being alive. Starting with my original family in a single wide mobile home, gathered around a wood stove all the way to living with my band, haunting my wife everywhere she goes, raising my children on a tour bus, learning at the feet of Joni Mitchell, to making music with my greatest hero of all time, Elton John. Why is it heroic to untether, when the tense work of togetherness is so much more interesting?…because I don’t want to do it. Because I don’t want to return to myself. And that’s why I will.”In addition to Carlile, Watt, Dessner and Vernon, the album features her longtime bandmates Phil and Tim Hanseroth and SistaStrings (Monique and Chauntee Ross) as well as Josh Klinghoffer, Chad Smith, Matt Chamberlain, Dave Mackay, Rob Moose, Blake Mills, Mark Isham and Stewart Cole.Carlile and her band will perform three sold-out nights at Colorado’s legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre this weekend. Additional tour dates to be announced.Carlile is an Oscar-nominated and 11x GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter, performer and producer, 2x EMMY Award-winning composer, lyricist and writer, #1 New York Times Bestselling author and activist, who is known as one of music’s most respected voices. Throughout her acclaimed career, Carlile has released eight studio albums including her most recent, Who Believes in Angels?—the universally critically acclaimed collaborative album with her childhood hero, Elton John—which debuted at No. 1 in the U.K. and top 10 in the U.S. Additionally, Carlile continues her work as a renowned producer with recent GRAMMY Award-winning projects from Joni Mitchell and Brandy Clark. She also produced and recorded a rendition of Indigo Girls’ “Closer To Fine” with her wife, Catherine, which was included on Barbie The Album as well as a version of “Home,” which was featured in the final season of Ted Lasso. She received her first Oscar nomination in the Original Song category in January 2025 for “Never Too Late,” a track written alongside Elton John, Bernie Taupin and Andrew Watt for the Disney+ documentary of the same name, on Elton’s life and career.Beloved by her peers, Carlile has collaborated with artists such as The Highwomen, Soundgarden, Sam Smith, Alicia Keys, Hozier, Noah Kahan, Jacob Collier, P!nk and Dolly Parton. Carlile was named OUT Magazine’s 2023 “Icon of the Year,” awarded Billboard’s Women In Music “Trailblazer Award,” CMT’s Next Women of Country “Impact Award” and NMPA’s 2023 Songwriter Icon Award and received multiple recognitions from the Americana Music Association. On top of being a musician and writer, Carlile is a founder of the Looking Out Foundation, which has raised over $8 million for grassroots causes to date. Carlile lives in rural Washington state with her wife and two daughters, Evangeline and Elijah.RETURNING TO MYSELF TRACKLIST1. Returning To Myself2. Human3. A Woman Oversees4. A War With Time5.
