LA's Vijunns shares new single, "Tessellation" ahead of new LP

Vijunns is the audio-visual project of LA-based music producer and art director Jeremy Raskin. Since 2018, Raskin has explored the terrain between ambient and techno, carving out a space beyond rave euphoria and the contemplative depths of electronica rich with lucid imagery and immersive storytelling.

Today, Vijunns shares new single "Tessellation," from their forthcoming new LP, Collapse, which is out on Sept. 23. Raskin gives some context for the track:

“'Tessellation' marks a turning point in the album. While it is an ambient track, it feels rhythmically abrasive. It’s sonically & emotionally a tone shift in the story of Collapse.  This track emerged through pure experimentation and pushing myself to create something outside my comfort zone.”

This unity of sound and concept reveals new territory for Raskin on Collapse, a self-described 'soundtrack to the end of the world' that explores the tensions defining our current socio-political epoch.

Raskin continues to expand his post-IDM palette with modular and 90s-era digital synthesis, lacing the sonics of his prior works with an undertone of darkness, which lends a weighty grit to his trademark sound. Rather than indulge in IDM's solipsistic introspection, he instead applies its sharp edges and diffuse vapors to render a world in disarray.

Collapse unfurls cinematically, establishing an expansive, desolate space. On "Industry," sinuous chords shift and simmer while booming bass and insistent percussion apply the pressure. "Undone" introduces soft, tender bodies; delicate melodies and gentle timbres winding through the ruin. "Tessellation" brings us somewhere sacred and mythic, where supernatural sounds and abstract rhythms induce a sense of transcendental purpose.

Ultimately, Collapse arrives. Heart rending, gut-wrenching, potent, and final. As the credits roll, we are treated to Auragraph's remix of "Industry," where the prolific darkwave mainstay morphs the original into a slab of club-ready breaks which maintains every ounce of the atmosphere established over the course of the LP.

Raskin’s visual sensibility is a statement within itself. The artwork provokes meditations on mass surveillance, emergent technologies, and the infinite feedback loop of content that primes a world teetering between a liberated, high-tech future and an alienated, inhuman dystopia.

HOME FRONT announce new album - Release "Light Sleeper" single / video - 'Watch It Die' out Nov 14 via La Vida Es Un Mus Discos

HOME FRONT

Announce New Album Watch It Die
Coming November 14 via La Vida Es Un Mus Discos

Release Lead Single / Video “Light Sleeper”

Performing in LA 2 Nights at Hollywood Palladium
w/ Cock Sparrer & Dillinger Four - November 22-23

Photo By Lyle Bell | L-R Clint Frazier, Graeme MacKinnon

Home Front holds on to a particular kind of passion. The sort of thing that guides you - like a climbing vine steadily blanketing your bests and worsts, cutting through changes and impasses; victory and loss. This passion, their drive, is what makes a record like Watch It Die, their latest full-length for La Vida Es Un Mus, feel just right. For decades the duo’s Graeme MacKinnon and Clint Frazier have embedded themselves in grass roots music making, community building, and the overpowering ebbs and flows of diy punk. With Home Front, formed in 2020, they’ve given their lifetime of experience a chance to distill and then power into this musically omnipotent project which equally conjures textured Tangerine Dream sounds in a film montage, or the pummelling soundtrack to the first steps taken towards winning the fight of your life.

Its lead single “Light Sleeper” sends energy waves rattling through speakers with all the urgency and volume of post punk/new wave/street punk. The track is available today alongside a video which features a cast of characters including Home Front touring members Brandi Strauss (bass), Ian Rowley (guitar), and Warren Oostlander (drums).

Listen / Share / Playlist “Light Sleeper” | Official Music Video

Home Front’s nod to influences and the themes of their lyrics are direct and detailed while maintaining enough creative distance to feel universal and unique. The production has again been bolstered by a team of long time confidants making a huge and unique record under the humble and hard working circumstances of remote pre-production and choosing to do their recording in home studios in their home town in Edmonton, Alberta.

The architecture of Watch It Die is simple - 12 songs of danceable, hummable, rousing and honest music that only Home Front could make. The emotion of this LP is what solidifies these musical notions into meaningful art. “For us, ultimately, this is music that comes out of loss and heartbreak and failure, but I hope people have a good time listening to us. You can get rowdy, you can get emotional, you can do whatever you want, but maybe with all of that freedom, we all take a second to reflect on all our fallen brothers and sisters and friends who may have slipped away.”

On previous revered recordings Games of Power (2023) and Think of the Lie (2021), Frazier and MacKinnon gave us a snapshot of a cynical and alienating world. A place where hope was tempered by insignificance, exhaustion takes us, and where 2,000,000 voices screaming in unison can still go unheard. Watch It Die instead of asking us why and how we got here, struggling to cope with the sadness of a desperate world, brings us their “step forward” moment. A dose of optimism and ownership in the bleakest of times in which maybe it doesn’t have to feel so bad to be alone or desperate. Where the passage of time is not coloured by the nostalgia of a lost youth but more toward the celebration of wisdom earned. Watch it Die owns the ills it describes and catapults us alongside its creators who have the confidence and presence of mind to live beyond their limitations.

Watch It Die is a road map of hope. MacKinnon and Frazier state: “For all of us in Home Front, ‘Watch It Die’ comes at a very transformative time. Geopolitically, musically and in our personal lives. With friends and close family members dying, to massive uncertainty around the world, this album encapsulates what it’s like for us to step into a ‘new world’ where all the old adages of ‘everything is gonna work out fine’ feel like a joke. We watch rich people get richer while the rest of us struggle just to get by. We watch colonizers kill without consequence and in an age of information at our finger tips we watch people choosing to be ignorant to what’s going on around them. ‘Watch It Die’ speaks about our own humanity, a rebirth into a new world and how we can never go back to the way things were. We suffer for their dreams, but in saying that we must recognize the importance of our own community and look to energize them to build a better way of life. We have always been an anti-war, anti-genocide, pro-peace band. We are against crimes to human rights and all of those struggling through the horrors of imperialism. We stand with the people of Palestine and we stand with the Canadian Indigenous communities who struggle to uphold treaty rights as well as basic human rights like clean drinking water and generational trauma. One takeaway from our music is to make a safe space where our community can come together to air out grievances and find a better way to a new future.”

Ora the Molecule Shares Nolan Gray Remix Of "Løveskatt" || Supporting Cut Copy On Fall US Tour

ORA THE MOLECULE SHARES
NOLAN GRAY REMIX OF
“LØVESKATT”

SUPPORTS CUT COPY ON FALL US TOUR

NEW ALBUM DANCE THERAPY
OUT NOW ON MUTE

Today Ora the Molecule has shared a new remix of “Løveskatt” by LA-based artist, producer, DJ and professor of sound Nolan Gray, celebrated for his bespoke analog techno. He transforms the beloved track from her recently-released album Dance Therapy (out now via Mute) from the shimmering, disco-inflected original and injects it with a glitched-out, spacy playfulness that’s equally demanding of the dancefloor.

Ora The Molecule is also a mere few months away from starting a November US tour supporting Cut Copy. All dates are listed below.
Listen to “Løveskatt (Nolan Gray Remix)” HERE.
Purchase or stream Dance Therapy HERE.

Speaking on the remix, Ora the Molecule says: "Love the bass on this remix - Nolan Gray brought "Løveskatt" to the basement and I'm planning on dancing there for a while!”

Nolan Gray adds: “I wanted to create a remix that connected with Ora’s parallel audience, the Interdimensional Dancers. I imagined being in a 70's Italo BathHouse and going through the bubble wall with pink light flashing underneath, and how I’d hear the music I was dancing to melt into the adjacent space as the bubble sealed behind me revealing a mysterious new dance floor.”

US TOUR DATES:

11/11/2025 - Portland, OR - Wonder Ballroom*

Nora Schjelderup, the creative mind behind the Ora The Molecule moniker, comments: "It was written from a dark place, and a light place, it gives some sort of solution for when you tend to nihilistic thinking. The song is about letting go of fear and the self-awareness that dictates and controls our experience on this planet. I hope you find the song as you need it."

Dance Therapy is Schjelderup as a lone mastermind, conceiving a new world all her own. On this album, she wrote, recorded, and produced everything, save a handful of co-production contributions from Mathias Risdal.
The driving force behind Dance Therapy stems from Schjelderup’s experience as a DJ, a career that has steadily ascended since the pandemic. She imagined herself being behind the decks, while simultaneously seeing herself in the audience, and asking: “What would I play for that Nora in the crowd to make her day just a little bit better?” Fueled by classic late ‘70s club sounds and Italo-disco, this became the retro-futuristic fever dream of Dance Therapy
As in the past, she decamped to her studio, located in a cabin in the woods outside of Oslo. There, she processed a series of severe losses, the therapy of the album’s title becoming literal.
Dance Therapy became deeply conceptual, with Schjelderup working off a prompt: If we encountered intelligent life in outer space, how would she present herself? “Would I be this mundane shit — I’m constantly heartbroken, I don’t know what I want to do when I grow up,” she says. “Or will I try to rise and be the highest version of myself possible? To be as glamorous and fabulous as I could?”
Schjelderup’s intergalactic vision drew upon a broad array of references. While exploring a “study” of electronic pioneer Mort Garson’s Mother Earth’s Plantasia, she began favoring digital reproductions of various modular synths and theremin. Italo disco star Raffaella Carrà inspired Ora The Molecule becoming a more full-blown character separated from but symbiotic with Schjelderup herself, while the music of Annie Lennox helped shape Dance Therapy’s narrative heft.
The resulting body of work is rife with ebullient, infectious dance music, but also remarkably complex meditations on grief, mortality and heartbreak - all transmuted through the lens of Ora’s cosmic inner journey to discover her own sense of self, human or otherwise.
And, at the end, Schjelderup has finally created a new transcendence: both Nora and Ora but neither, a deeper sense of herself and the disco superhero she has willed into being, a new identity from everything that came before.
Dance Therapy  is out now on limited edition hand-numbered white vinyl, black vinyl, cassette and digitally. Purchase it HERE.

Montreal singer-songwriter Pompey today has shared his new single "Surrounded." The track, which premiered earlier today via FLOOD, is the final preview of his new LP I'm Scared, which is out September 15th. Buzz has been building around Pompey–this year, his music has taken off on TikTok, with a recent post of his previous single earning over 4.8 million views, and another teaser earning 3.1 million views

I'm Scared, Pompey's fourth full-length LP, is a deeply earnest record about fear, togetherness, comfort and anxiety. The 12 tracks are a lush, honest, enveloping, exploration of his own fear, but with the completion of the new record, Pompey is ready to let that fear go.

Pompey will play his record release show at this year's Pop Montreal. It will take place on September 27th at La Sala Rossa with support from Fanclubwallet, Katy Pinke, and Cedric Noel.

Pompey has been a fixture on the Montreal music scene since 2012, mainly playing as a musician for artists such as Thanya Iyer, Emilie Kahn, Eve Parker Finley, Common Holly, and more.  The album was co-produced by Pompey and Thanya Iyer, and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Pompey. It features Cedric Noel on drums and backing vocals, Thanya Iyer on violin, backing vocals, piano and synth, Emilie Kahn and Brigitte Naggar on backing vocals, Eric Maillet on drums, and Zach Bachand on acoustic guitar.

New single "I'm Scared" is out today. I'm Scared LP is out September 15th.

Pompey is a singer-songwriter who has been a fixture on the Montreal music scene since 2012 mainly as a side musician for artists such as Thanya Iyer, Emilie Kahn, Eve Parker Finley, Common Holly and others. More recently, Pompey’s own music has found it’s own way into the spotlight through posting super personal and relatable snippets of songs to social media. What started as a way to fill the show-shaped hole in Pompey’s life, brought on by the pandemic, has turned into an opportunity to connect to people all over the world who relate and find comfort in the shared experience of living in an imperfect body with an imperfect mind. Pompey’s music is as hopeful as it is sad and as optimistic as it is a realistic depiction of life in 2025. I’m Scared will be Pompey’s 4th full-length album since 2020. When performing live, the band consists of Thanya Iyer and Emilie Kahn both on bass and Cedric Noel on drums.

Recorded and mixed by Feveyear, LIGHTHOUSE: LIVE FROM LONDON collects electrifying in-concert versions of such McKagan originals as I SAW GOD ON 10TH ST., LIGHTHOUSE, and the volatile CHIP AWAY (a personal favorite of Bob Dylan himself), along with breakneck performances of The Stooges’ I WANNA BE YOUR DOG, The Crickets’ (by way of The Bobby Fuller Four and The Clash) I FOUGHT THE LAW, and Guns N’ Roses’ classic YOU’RE CRAZY. The Last Dinner Party Release New Single And Video For "The Scythe"

For Immediate Release                       September 5, 2025

THE LAST DINNER PARTY RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘THE SCYTHE

WATCH THE MUSIC VIDEO HERE

FROM THE PYRE” TO BE RELEASED OCTOBER 17th
VIA ISLAND RECORDS

credit Cal McIntyre

Today, The Last Dinner Party share “The Scythe,” the band’s second preview of forthcoming album  From The Pyre  (10/17 via Island Records). First conceived as a breakup song in Abigail Morris’ teens, the poised slow burn of ‘The Scythe’ exhibits the considerable songwriting range possessed by The Last Dinner Party, who first caught worldwide attention through their brand of potent theatrical rock. Listen to “The Scythe” here and watch the music video, directed by Fiona Jane Burgess, here.

Abigail Morris on ‘The Scythe’:

“This song began 9 years ago, like a prophecy. I wrote it before I had known anything of grief or heartbreak, how a relationship ending feels exactly the same as that person dying. Once you know how it feels to lose someone you enter a new realm from which you can never return. You’re trying to reach them telepathically through psychics or song lyrics (sometimes those two become the same) and sometimes they give you a reply. It can take 9 years to realise you’re even grieving at all but once you do you see them everywhere - in a robin, in a street fox, in a Wim Wenders film. The Scythe comes for everyone and you shouldn’t be afraid about what’s on the other side.”

“The music video for ‘The Scythe’ is one of our proudest and most intimate. From one angle it’s a celebration of all the relationships that make it so far you both feel like you can live forever, from another it’s the fantasy of imagining what it would look like if your parents had been able to grow old together.”

“The Scythe” is the second track to be shared from The Last Dinner Party’s forthcoming second album From The Pyre, following the July release of western-flecked “This Is The Killer Speaking” – listen herePre-order From The Pyre here.

The London five-piece headed into the studio early 2025 with Grammy Award winning producer Markus Dravs (Wolf Alice, Florence & The Machine, Bjork) to start work on the follow-up to their number 1 debut album, 2023’s Prelude to Ecstasy. From The Pyre is the sound of a band having a lot of fun rather than feeling any innate pressure to follow-up on what was an explosively successful debut record. It’s also the sound of a young band developing and maturing their songwriting together, as tight a unit as the endless months out on the road pay testament to.

The Last Dinner Party on From The Pyre:

“This record is a collection of stories, and the concept of album-as-mythos binds them. ‘The Pyre’ itself is an allegorical place in which these tales originate, a place of violence and destruction but also regeneration, passion and light.

“The songs are character driven but still deeply personal, a commonplace life event pushed to pathological extreme. Being ghosted becomes a Western dance with a killer, and heartbreak laughs into the face of the apocalypse. Lyrics invoke rifles, scythes, sailors, saints, cowboys, floods, Mother Earth, Joan of Arc, and blazing infernos. We found this kind of evocative imagery to be the most honest and truthful way to discuss the way our experiences felt, giving each the emotional weight it deserves.”

“This record feels a little darker, more raw and more earthy; it takes place looking out at a sublime landscape rather than seated an opulent table. It also feels metatextual and cheeky in places, like a knowing look reflected back at ourselves.”

With two BRIT Awards to their name (including Breakthrough Artist earlier this year), and having sold out virtually every show they played right across the globe (including three sold-out hometown shows at London’s Eventim Apollo), The Last Dinner Party’s arrival and subsequent worldwide success was one of the most thrilling introductions to a new British band in decades, and From The Pyre’s opening introduction suggests that unparalleled success story shows no signs of relenting.

Machine Girl, the newly trio’d New York-based electronic hardcore project helmed by Matt Stephenson, have announced a new album Psycho Warrior (MG Ultra X) for October 24th via Future Classic. New single “Rabbit Season” arrives with the announcement, a brain-rattling crafted beat with neon keys and a snappy hook. A reference to Looney Tunes, Stephenson notes, “With Machine Girl’s lyrics, I’ll take some dystopian or dark subject matter and flip it into something more lighthearted. I took the concept of conspiracy rabbit holes and used it to make a bouncy dance track. It discusses the cartoonish world of conspiracies and false, subjective realities people are trapping themselves inside of.” The song follows “Come On Baby, Scrape My Data,” which has already amassed half a million streams. The record release show has been announced for their annual Halloween Weekend Show October 30th at Brooklyn’s Knockdown Center. More info can be found here

Their second album in two years, Psycho Warrior (MG Ultra X) is part of the same arc as 2024’s incredibly successful MG Ultra, an album that garnered 15+ million streams and sold 55,000 tickets on the subsequent tour. Whereas MG Ultra explored mind control, Psycho Warrior (MG Ultra X) delves into the collective unconscious. Stephenson explains, “I’d been reading analytical psychology and the writings of Joseph Campbell and Jung,” recalls Matt. “There’s a concept of the collective unconscious and these archetypes that we innately have. We adopt different personae in order to get through the day. In essence, you complete yourself by facing your shadow self. To do so, you must accept the less savory aspects of who you are. There’s a lot of validity to these theories. Right now, we’re a very psychologically damaged culture and society. We’re being pushed over the edge with social media and technology. Any chance of resistance against these systems starts in the mind, so this was the genesis of Psycho Warrior (MG Ultra X).”

Machine Girl carved out an incomparable lane upon arrival in 2012. Stephenson’s 2014 full-length debut LP, Wlfgrl, achieved bona fide cult status, shocked to life by “Out by 16, Dead on the Scene,” “Ghost,” and “Mg1,” which have reeled in north of 43 million Spotify streams and counting. Their sound proceeded to completely reinvent itself across each LP that followed—Gemini (2015), …Because I’m Young Arrogant and Hate Everything You Stand For (2017), The Ugly Art (2018), U-Void Synthesizer (2020), and 2022’s two-part Original Soundtrack for the video game Neon White. Most recently, 2024’s MG Ultra incited the most enthusiastic critical applause of the band’s career so far.

Girl Tones reel against the forbidden fruit on new single "Cherry Picker"

GIRL TONES REEL AGAINST THE

AUSTIN CITY LIMITS + DATES WITH

CAGE THE ELEPHANT — SEE ALL TOUR DATES HERE

“While the White Stripes — their most obvious comparison — were about controlled

energy, Girl Tones are proudly imperfect.”

“Girls Tones—the duo of mononymous sisters Kenzie and Laila—have shown us their garage-rock mettle over the past couple years with a slew of singles that reflect the gritty revivalism of The White Stripes’ early run of records.”

“I could try and weave together a blanket of colorful words to describe Girl Tones and how talented they are but I’m just gonna say Girl Tones is f***** dope, dude.”

The rock duo with all eyes on them, Girl Tones, today releases their next single — the ripping “Cherry Picker” out now via Parallel Vision x Big Loud Rock. Being misled by forbidden fruit and fighting to see things as they truly are, the chorus anthemically insists “I bit the hand that feeds me / It tastes like hypocrite / A wolf hides in sheep’s clothing / And feels like bitter death” — Stream / Watch the visualizer.

Singer Kenzie shares that, “‘Cherry Picker’ is the distortion of reality and the uncomfortability of death. I love this song because it’s a reminder to me that anyone, including myself, is susceptible to distortion.”

Harnessing the undeniable momentum from a triumphant festival debut at Lollapalooza last month and the steady release of new music, Girl Tones have cemented themselves as a new act to keep an eye on. Their previous single “Got It” received nods from FLOOD, Flaunt and more while “Blame” continues to see radio success after gaining national traction and charting on Triple A and Alternative radio.

Having just wrapped up a tour run alongside Silversun Pickups, Girl Tones have no plans of staying off the road. Up next, they will join Cage The Elephant for more shows together and play at Shaky Knees, Austin City Limits, 97x’s Next Big Thing and Legends and more. See all upcoming dates here and below.
