OUT VIA GALLERY BOOKS ON OCTOBER 7

“The band reclaims its old indie-rock with scruffy guitar riffs

and choppy drums behind Dand's jaded baritone .”

-NEW YORK TIMES

"At long last, a new album is on its way."

-CONSEQUENCE

"Dando on his best form since the '90s."

-UNCUT

"Still able to soar."

-MOJO

The fourth single from The Lemonheads' highly anticipated album Love Chant opens with a whallop before dissolving into a final whispered plea: "Baby, don't blow it." Between its crashing introduction and dissonant fade-out, lead singer/guitarist Evan Dando skips a gentle and familiar melody across a thick, dense, and beautiful bed of guitars whose bite doesn't pierce but rather builds the track's fuzzy sheath. His voice has gathered a wisdom about it since the last Lemonheads album 20 years ago, which gives the understated, natural delivery on "Togetherness Is All I'm After" a special gravity. The song was co-written by Evan Dando with John Strohm of Blake Babies.

"Listen to the wind blow

A whisper through the trees

Where did all the time go

What brought you to your knees

The strategy of time is you can speed it up you can slow it

And when you laid it on the line

Baby, don’t blow it."

Recorded at São Paulo’s A9 Áudio with producer Apollo Nove (Rita Lee, Bebel Gilberto, Seu Jorge), Love Chant marks the welcome return of a justifiably legendary rock ‘n’ roll band, with founding singer-songwriter-guitarist Evan Dando joined by a bevy of dear friends and collaborators including J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr), Juliana Hatfield, Tom Morgan (as co-writer for “Deep End”), producer Bryce Goggin (Pavement, Antony and the Johnsons), Nashville’s Erin Rae, John Strohm of the Blake Babies co-wrote and played guitar on “Togetherness,” and Nick Saloman of The Bevis Frond (a songwriter and performer on the swirling psych-folk gem “Roky”). Adam Green of cult New York favorites The Moldy Peaches also contributes as co-writer on the loose-limbed country detour “Wild Thing.”

The album was heralded by the premieres of the hard-hitting singles, “In The Margin” and "Deep End," as well as the introspective "The Key of Victory." “In The Margin” is a classic Dando composition: half-broken, half-beautiful, wrapped around a melody that disarms before it detonates. “Deep End” was co-written by Dando with longtime collaborator Tom Morgan of Smudge, the churning, riff-powered track, which features an instantly identifiable guitar solo from J Mascis and backing vocals from dear friend and frequent Lemonheads guest Juliana Hatfield. The song was met by worldwide attention upon its premiere last month by such high-profile publications as Rolling Stone, Billboard, Uncut, Stereogum, and Consequence, the latter of which praised its long-awaited reprise of the Lemonheads’ “scrappy, guitar-forward rock sound.” An official music video, filmed on location in São Paulo, Brazil, by directors Carlão Busato and Luigi Parisi, is streaming now on YouTube.

"The Key of Victory" is all slow motion and soft shadows — a modal, meditative piece anchored by Apollo Nove’s winding guitar and Erin Rae’s spectral harmonies. The song was written with David Ashby (Rum Shebeen), and its vocal was recorded at Abbey Road. Stamped with a profound lightness and beauty, "The Key of Victory" is indicative of the songwriting diversity at play on Love Chant, which arrives via Fire Records on Friday, October 24. Pre-orders/pre-saves are available now.

Over the past few years, The Lemonheads’ influence has only deepened. Artists like MJ Lenderman, Courtney Barnett, and Waxahatchee have all covered Dando’s songs, praising the emotional clarity, melodic instinct, and wry intimacy that define his writing. That resonance across generations makes Love Chant feel like more than a return — it’s a reminder of what made this band matter in the first place.

The Lemonheads have been celebrating Love Chant with a marathon world tour featuring headline shows and top-billed festival appearances across the UK and Europe. North American dates get underway November 11 at Birmingham, AL’s WORKPLAY and then continue through a December 20 tour finale at Nashville, TN’s famed Basement East. Evan Dando will be releasing his memoir, Rumors of My Demise, via Gallery Books, on October 7.

Montreal singer-songwriter Pompey today has released his new album I'm Scared. His fourth full-length LP is a deeply earnest record about fear, togetherness, comfort and anxiety. The 12 tracks are a lush, honest, enveloping, exploration of his own fear, but with the completion of the new record, Pompey is ready to let that fear go. Album singles "Surrounded," "I'm Scared," and "Really Really Really Big Sweater" have earned praise and support from Exclaim!, FLOOD, Digital Journal, and more.

Pompey will play his record release show at this year's Pop Montreal. It will take place on September 27th at La Sala Rossa with support from Fanclubwallet, Katy Pinke, and Cedric Noel.

Buzz has been building around Pompey–this year, his music has taken off on TikTok, with a recent post of his previous single earning over 4.8 million views, and another teaser earning 3.1 million views

Pompey has been a fixture on the Montreal music scene since 2012, mainly playing as a musician for artists such as Thanya Iyer, Emilie Kahn, Eve Parker Finley, Common Holly, and more.  The album was co-produced by Pompey and Thanya Iyer, and engineered, mixed, and mastered by Pompey. It features Cedric Noel on drums and backing vocals, Thanya Iyer on violin, backing vocals, piano and synth, Emilie Kahn and Brigitte Naggar on backing vocals, Eric Maillet on drums, and Zach Bachand on acoustic guitar.

I'm Scared is out today on all DSPs.

Pompey is a singer-songwriter who has been a fixture on the Montreal music scene since 2012 mainly as a side musician for artists such as Thanya Iyer, Emilie Kahn, Eve Parker Finley, Common Holly and others. More recently, Pompey’s own music has found it’s own way into the spotlight through posting super personal and relatable snippets of songs to social media. What started as a way to fill the show-shaped hole in Pompey’s life, brought on by the pandemic, has turned into an opportunity to connect to people all over the world who relate and find comfort in the shared experience of living in an imperfect body with an imperfect mind. Pompey’s music is as hopeful as it is sad and as optimistic as it is a realistic depiction of life in 2025. I’m Scared will be Pompey’s 4th full-length album since 2020. When performing live, the band consists of Thanya Iyer and Emilie Kahn both on bass and Cedric Noel on drums.

NOVEMBER 14, 2025, VIA NEW WEST RECORDS

4-LP BOX SET FEATURES THE REMIXED & REMASTERED ORIGINAL ALBUM AS WELL AS THE PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED DOUBLE ALBUM HEATHENS LIVE AT FLICKER BAR, ATHENS, GA - JUNE 20, 2002

40-PAGE, FULL-COLOR BOOK FEATURING NEW ESSAY BY
DRIVE-BY TRUCKERS BIOGRAPHER STEPHEN DEUSNER

UNCUT MAGAZINE PREMIERES REMIXED & LIVE VERSIONS OF “SINK HOLE” TODAY

“Considered by many (including me) to be DBT’s masterpiece, this is the ultimate version of Decoration Day, sounding better than ever.” - Patterson Hood, The Drive-By Truckers

The Drive-By Truckers Photograph by David Wilds

The Drive-By Truckers will release The Definitive Decoration Day on November 14, 2025, via New West Records. The 4-LP box set features the 15-track album remixed by its original producer David Barbe, remastered by Greg Calbi, and cut at the legendary Abbey Road Studios in London, UK. The new collection includes the previously unreleased double album Heathens Live at Flicker Bar, Athens, GA - June 20, 2002, as well as a 40-page, full-color book featuring never-before-seen photos and artwork, as well as a new essay written by Drive-By Truckers’ biographer Stephen Deusner, author of Where the Devil Don’t Stay: Traveling the South with the Drive-By Truckers. Originally released in 2003, the album garnered widespread critical acclaim, with Pitchfork saying Decoration Day is “one of the more ambitious records of the (very) early 21st century” and one that “further confirms the Drive-By Truckers’ status as the most poetic and insightful Southern rockers in existence today.” An advance look at The Definitive Decoration Day can be seen HERE

Today, Uncut Magazine premiered the newly remixed and remastered album version of “Sink Hole” alongside the previously unreleased live version of the song featured on Heathens Live at Flicker Bar, Athens, GA - June 20, 2002. Loosely based on the 2002 Oscar Award-winning short film The Accountant—directed by Ray McKinnon and starring Walton Goggins—the song tells the story of a struggling farmer fighting back against a banker foreclosing on his family farm.

Decoration Day was the Drive-By Truckers’ first album with Jason Isbell, who joined the band in late 2001. It features the DBT standards, “Sink Hole,” Marry Me,” “My Sweet Annette,” and Isbell’s first songs with the band: “Outfit” and the title track. “The legacy of the band has definitely grown,” says Isbell, “and there’s a new appreciation for the Truckers and especially for that era of Decoration Day. Without them you wouldn’t have the kind of work being done by MJ Lenderman and Wednesday and Waxahatchee and a bunch of other acts. I can hear the Truckers in all that music.”

Heathens Live at Flicker Bar, Athens, GA - June 20, 2002 is a stripped-down, acoustic performance from the band’s hometown, recorded a year before Decoration Day’s release. The previously unreleased album is a rich, historic document in the band’s evolution and a holy grail for their fans, featuring the band performing several of these songs for the first time ever. Says Hood, “We decided that it would be fun to go play an acoustic late-night show at the tiny Flicker Bar, less than a block away from our beloved 40 Watt Club. We ended up playing a set that included all but one song off of our new, but still unfinished album. I didn’t even know until recently that there was an existing tape of the show. This is a beautiful document of our band at a very crucial and joyous moment in time. I’m so happy that it exists.”

Decoration Day remains an incredibly influential album in the Drive-By Truckers’ catalog, one that has connected with new generations of artists and fans. Karly Hartzmann of Wednesday says, “Decoration Day reminds me that a song can be a piece of advice, a grudge, a suicide note, a bargaining for mercy, or a veneer over the rot. It’s music that delivers the bad news but kisses the bruises it leaves.”

Craig Finn of The Hold Steady says, “Decoration Day was the Drive-By Truckers’ three songwriters firing on all cylinders—alternately thoughtful, pissed off, charming, surly and often hilarious. I marvel at this record. It’s a true American classic.”

BJ Barham of American Aquarium adds, “This is, without a doubt, one of my desert island records. Without DBT’s Decoration Day, there is no American Aquarium. Long live DBT!”

The Definitive Decoration Day follows the band’s deluxe edition of their album Southern Rock Opera, originally released in 2001, as well as The Complete Dirty South, originally released in 2004. It will be available across digital platforms, standard black vinyl, and as a 3-CD set. A limited olive color vinyl edition will be available at independent retailers, and a limited to 150 blue-and-burgundy-swirl color vinyl edition will be available at Seasick Records in Birmingham, Alabama. In addition, a special, limited-to-300 HeAthens red-and-black vinyl edition will be available at local participating retailers in Athens, Georgia, and for pickup at the New West Records’ Athens office. A limited-to-1,000 burgundy color vinyl edition is available for pre-order NOW via NEW WEST RECORDS.

Ian Boddy & Chris Carter Announce 25th Anniversary Remastered & Expanded Edition Of 'Caged' || Out 11/28 On The Gray Area Of Mute

IAN BODDY & CHRIS CARTER
CAGED

25TH ANNIVERSARY RELEASE OF THEIR COLLABORATION
REMASTERED AND EXPANDED

OUT NOVEMBER 28 ON THE GREY AREA OF MUTE

LISTEN TO “UNCAGED”

Ian Boddy and Chris Carter have announced details of the 25th anniversary edition of their underground classic Caged that is out on November 28, 2025 on The Grey Area of Mute. The album has been remastered and is expanded with two new compositions reimagined from the original audio files: “Claustrophobia,” reworked by Chris Carter and “Uncaged,” reworked by Ian Boddy. Together these new versions revisit Caged’s DNA from opposite ends of the spectrum, one tightening its grip, the other breaking free.

Listen to “Uncaged” HERE.

Chris Carter says: “I can’t believe it’s been 25 years since we got together in each other’s studios and recorded Caged. It was such a laid-back process - no stresses or dramas, just a good time making some cool music with some classic gear. It’s been great revisiting that old material to come up with something new yet still ‘Caged’ for this Mute anniversary release. The new vinyl edition sounds even better than our original incarnation.”

Talking about the collaboration, Ian Boddy explains: “They say opposites attract and although Chris & I come from different ends of the electronic music spectrum Caged just gelled, and I think we created an album with a timeless quality to it.”

First released in 2000, Caged united two giants of experimental electronic music - Throbbing Gristle’s Chris Carter, a pioneering force in industrial and electronic music for over five decades, and Ian Boddy, composer, sound designer, analogue synth aficionado, and founder of the ambient/electronic label DiN. Having known each other casually for years, Boddy invited Carter to collaborate for his then-new label. Carter immediately agreed and together they produced a work of startling power and textural depth. Across its shifting soundscapes, Caged plays with chance and paradox, where a whisper swells into a crescendo, a beat dissolves into a tone, and nothing remains still for long.

Ian Boddy first got into composing music in the late ‘70s in Newcastle-upon-Tyne whilst studying for a degree in Biochemistry. Having fallen in love with the sound-worlds of German electronic bands such as Tangerine Dream, he came across an arts centre that housed a studio filled with reel-to-reel tape machines and analogue synthesizers and taught himself how to use this equipment through a process of experimentation, thus began a long and successful music career.

Specializing in ambient and electronic music, Boddy has three main strands to his musical activities which are run under the umbrella of his own company, Something Else Music Limited.

Chris Carter is one of the founding members of Throbbing Gristle and has played a significant role in the development of electronic music - a journey which continues through his releases as one half of Chris & Cosey and Carter Tutti and a third of Carter Tutti Void - as well as with his own solo and collaborative releases.

Credited with the invention and production of groundbreaking electronics that include the Gristleizer self-built effects unit, the Dirty Carter Experimental Sound Generating Instrument, the TG One Eurorack module (designed with Tiptop Audio) and the updated Future Sound Systems Gristleizer modules, Carter has created the means to make sounds as well as making the sounds themselves.

Caged (25th Anniversary Edition) is out on The Grey Area of Mute on November 28th on limited edition double red vinyl, CD and digitally. Pre-order it HERE.

British pop sensation Mimi Webb steps boldly into a new chapter with the release of her highly anticipated sophomore album  Confessions , out today via Epic Records. The album features the radiant lead single “I Met A Boy,” marking her boldest and most personal work to date.

Listen to Confessions  HERE .

With  Confessions , Mimi is ready to open up like never before. Written and recorded between Los Angeles and London, the album represents a fearless leap forward — an honest exploration of heartbreak, empowerment, and self-discovery, while still delivering the soaring pop songs that first put her on the map

“I am so proud of this album. Confessions has helped me grow both as a person and as an artist,” Mimi explains. “The themes I was able to explore through these songs taught me so much about myself and gave me real confidence. I’m also incredibly proud of the creative side of this record — every video, every photoshoot holds so much of me. This project, as a whole, is the most authentically ‘me’ thing I’ve ever done.”

On the luminous album focus track “I Met A Boy,” Mimi delivers a sparkling pop gem about dodging heartbreak and reclaiming her power. With cheeky, candid lines like “I’m over boys that waste my time,” she turns frustration into empowerment, channeling her signature mix of vulnerability and strength into a biting, infectious single.

Speaking about “I Met A Boy,” Mimi reveals, “‘I Met a Boy’ is probably one of the more unique songs on the album. I had so much fun trying out a more R&B sound, which hasn’t really influenced my music until now, and I’m definitely excited to explore it further in my future work. We’ve all flirted with someone, only to find out they’re already in a relationship, so I hope this song feels relatable to many.”

A standout moment is the album’s emotional centerpiece, “You Don’t Look At Me The Same.” Stripped back to somber piano and minimal production, the ballad spotlights Mimi’s most vulnerable vocal performance as she faces the slow unraveling of a once-close relationship. The song swells toward a heartbreaking realization as she pleads, “Please tell me I’m not seeing straight, what’s changed? Oh, you don’t look at me the same.” Watch the powerful Jake Erland-directed music video for “You Don’t Look At Me The Same” HERE.

On “I Love You For Me,” co-written with Amy Allen and John Ryan, Mimi flips the script on a classic love song, pleading for true commitment with the piercing line, “Don’t you ruin, I love you for me.” She also leans into playful empowerment on “Love Language” (WATCH), embracing freedom from labels and expectations.

Elsewhere, “Crashing Out” — Mimi’s second collaboration with GRAMMY Award® winner and labelmate Meghan Trainor, following their playful single “ Mind Reader ” earlier this year — surges with manic energy and raw urgency. “Side Effects” captures the addictive highs and lows of heartbreak, while the scathing “Narcissist,” one of Mimi’s boldest tracks yet, delivers a fiery kiss-off that premiered earlier this week on Apple Music’s New Music Daily with Zane Lowe.

“The lyrics in ‘Narcissist’ are so real,” Mimi shares. “I don’t think I’ve ever spilled the tea about a past relationship as much as I do in this song. People will never know exactly who it’s about, but writing it helped me finally say all the things I wish I had said. We’ve all dated a narcissist, and I hope screaming this song helps people move on.”

Across all 12 tracks, Mimi surrounded herself with a trusted circle of collaborators — including Amy Allen, Julia Michaels, Jason Evigan, Jordan Riley, and more — to bring her most personal and uncompromising vision to life. The result is a record that finds her standing taller than ever, baring her soul while embracing the euphoric spirit of pop.

With over a billion global streams, sold-out tours across continents, and a BRIT Award nomination under her belt, Mimi Webb continues to cement her place as one of pop’s most compelling voices. In 2024, she lit up the stages of major festivals like Lollapalooza, Governors Ball, Osheaga, and Outside Lands, and hit the road with the Jonas Brothers and Benson Boone. Now, with momentum at an all-time high, Mimi is set to kick off The Confessions Tour later this month, bringing her powerhouse vocals and emotionally charged new material to fans across the UK and Europe. Public Circuit ask what you bend a knee to on new album 'Modern Church'

PUBLIC CIRCUIT ASK WHAT YOU BEND A KNEE TO ON

NEW ALBUM MODERN CHURCH — OUT TODAY

LIKE BOTH A FLICKER OF CANDLELIGHT AND A FLUORESCENT GLARE, THE NYC SYNTH BAND

RELEASES THEIR SECOND ALBUM

VIA À LA CARTE RECORDS

HEADLINE NORTH AMERICAN TOUR UNDERWAY

NOW & EUROPEAN TOUR TO FOLLOW WITH PERFORMANCES AT 8MM FESTIVAL

AND LEFT OF THE DIAL — SEE ALL DATES HERE

Today, New York City synth-punk band, Public Circuit, have released their second album Modern Church via à La Carte Records. If electronic music is sacred theology, then they are the pagan heretics driving the genre forward with an indomitable will to live. On the new record, Public Circuit dismantle and reassemble post-punk with surgical precision. Gone is any pretense of retro revivalism—what remains is something sharper, darker and entirely their own — Listen to the new album.

With a newfound sense of collaboration amongst all three members (Ethan Biamont, Sean Holloway and Nelson Fisher), this is a record that dances in the flicker of candlelight and fluorescent glare alike, channeling an austere pulse of angular electronic instrumentation, and raw percussive rhythms all bathed with the high-gloss ache of sophisti-pop into a sound that’s equal parts ritual and revolution.

The album is overtly religious in theme; an analogical tool to explore gender identity, the fleeting faith of society, and the illicit repercussions of unresolved trauma. Public Circuit is deeply influenced by NYC’s constant feed of noise and bustle the city delivers. Channeling these pensive emotions into explosive energy, the band commits to live up to the historical behemoth of NYC music as their sphere of influence continues to expand.

"’Modern Church’ represents the collapse of connection—the album's chants are hollow, stripped back, and full of seething energy,” shares singer Biamont. “As we departed from the sound of our last album, we don’t see change as an enemy, but as a tool — a structure that can be repurposed, re-tuned into a tightly wound and potent new form.”

Press photo by Nicole Miller

Beginning with the album opener and title track, the sparse, rhythmic offering lays out what a modern church is. A critique on false idols, Biamont sees this as anything from, “the gym and one's physique, a substance to abuse, or one's own vain obsession of their online image; everyone has something that they bend a knee to.”

Next comes the danceable “Samson,” a poke at the hubris that courses through the veins of masculine society. The more straightforwardly post-punk “Take The Blame” covers an almost masochistic tendency of society to be driven by guilt. The album’s final single ahead of release, “No Faith,” is both animalistic and accusatory as the band attempts to untangle the knotted web of faith and gender identity.

At the album’s halfway point, “Hymn 01” is a break in the album’s driving force, a slow-burning prayer of a song. Following the brief interlude, “To The Grave” intensely twinkles and crashes as the band reels against the parts of themselves they refuse to push back down. The blisteringly explosive “Damager” started off as a jam the band would play between songs during their live show. Biamont describes it, “like running through a supermarket with no remorse for what you are rummaging in your path. It's like all the pain and feeling inside has welled up into an explosive expressionistic splatter painting. Like a broken machine: everything damaged continues to damage.”

Intentionally ending the album with searing intensity, “Cost Of My Life” questions that if life is about always reaching for something more, at what point did you sacrifice too much and miss it all?
