Take one look at award-winning songwriter / artist Allee Willis and you see someone unafraid to be themselves. Dressed in a cacophony of prints and colors, her signature asymmetrical haircut and famed parties at her real-life Pee-wee’s Playhouse, Allee didn’t waste any opportunity to tell you what she was about. But privately, Allee struggled with not fitting established gender and sexual norms.
She buried herself in her work, until true love manifested her ultimate masterpiece - self-acceptance.
Allee began filming her life in 1950s Detroit and never stopped. This film is the realization of her wish that her “final art piece be someone putting together the trail I have left behind.”

Ladytron Unveil Time's Arrow Remixed with First Single “We Never Went Away” remixed by Finnish artist DJ Slow

Featuring Fresh Interpretations of Every Track from Their Acclaimed Seventh Studio Album Time's Arrow Remixed will be available on Spotify, Apple Music and all streaming platforms on October 25 via Cooking Vinyl Listen to"We Never Went Away" (DJ Slow 1980NYC Remix) Here “Time’s Arrow Remixed"
Pre-order + pre-save (digital only)

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE As they have with their previous six studio albums, Ladytron release an album of remixes for Time’s Arrow on October 25: Time’s Arrow Remixed . The album serves as the final coda in the Time's Arrow campaign, as Ladytron enter the studio to complete their next project. True to their vision, the band has meticulously curated an eclectic group of remixers, including longtime collaborators like Vector Lovers, Blakkat and Pato Watson alongside emerging talents like Lee K, Lucas Frota and Maude Vôs. The result is a vibrant collection of reworks that expand the sonic boundaries of the original album.
The remix journey begins today, October 4th with DJ Slow’s interpretation of “We Never Went Away” DJ Slow (aka Vellu Maurola, co-founder of Pepe Deluxé and member of SlowHill) shared his enthusiasm:
"As a long-time admirer of Ladytron, it was an honor to contribute to this project. For the remix, I immersed myself in the atmospheric and electronic layers that define their sound, infusing it with my own unique touch. My aim was to preserve the haunting beauty of the original track while weaving in cinematic grooves that transport listeners to a new auditory dimension." The release will be followed by Vector Lovers’ remix of the album’s title track on October 11th, and Stealing Sheep’s reimagining of “The Night” on October 18th. Blakkat takes on the remix duties of focus track, “ California,” coinciding with the full release of Time's Arrow Remixed.
These remixes will resonate with a broad spectrum of audiences, traversing genres from house and techno to downtempo and Brazilian influences.
Time's Arrow itself was lauded as a dystopian yet radiant masterpiece, earning a place on Rolling Stone's Best Albums of 2023 list. It also garnered praise from outlets like Mojo giving it 4 stars "Burnished synth-pop meets the hyperreality of travel" and PopDose Magazine, with the latter calling it “a visceral experience, delivering chills and euphoria in equal measure.” Pitchfork extolled the album, noting that it “proves how Ladytron's enduring brand of atmospheric synthpop remains utterly mesmerizing.”
Featuring standout singles like “City of Angels,” “Misery Remember Me,” and “Faces,” Time's Arrow was a musical tour de force. The Line of Best Fit reflected on the album, saying, “Times Arrow finds Ladytron revitalized, creating music that flows with a dreamlike sense of nuance and complexity, where darkness may finally concede to light.”
With themes that explore the beauty, transience, and fragility of modern culture, Time's Arrow marries crystalline melodies with icy textures, rippling arpeggios, and a fusion of shoegaze, disco, and industrial elements—all of which are now set to be transformed in Time's Arrow Remixed, offering fans an entirely new sonic landscape to explore.

YEULE SHARES NEW SINGLE
"EKO" OUT NOW VIA NINJA TUNE

yeule by Vasso Vu
“eko”
LISTEN:
(October 23rd, 2024) - Today, yeule shares their new single “eko” via Ninja Tune. Written in London and recorded in Los Angeles, the single was produced by yeule alongside frequent collaborator Chris Greatti (Willow, Yves Tumor, The Dare). "eko" is about obsession and love and a voice echoing in yeule's head. The song embraces a more pop approach with yeule's clear bright vocals leading the track over their electronic production. This latest offering serves as a first glimpse into a forthcoming project to come.
“eko” follows their celebrated album softscars, which incorporated distorted guitars and alternative production. The album found yeule closely examining the anatomy of their long-held emotional wounds, making for their most penetrating and daring work yet. The arrival of softscars was met with immense critical acclaim earning their second ‘Best New Music’ stamp from Pitchfork, as well as applause from outlets such as The New York Times, The FADER, Stereogum, Alternative Press, NPR among others. The album followed their critically acclaimed 2022 release, Glitch Princess, which also received a Pitchfork ‘Best New Music’ stamp and overwhelming critical praise.
A chameleonic auteur guided by a multidisciplinary ethos, yeule crafts entire worlds and personas through their music, weaving together everything from the classical canon, hypermodern internet cultures, academic theory, the esoteric, and their own carnal desires.
Listen to “eko” above and stay tuned for more from the dexterous artist coming soon.

Father John Misty Shares “She Cleans Up” Official Video From Mahashmashana
Today, Father John Misty is releasing “She Cleans Up,” a new, official video from Mahashmashana, his forthcoming album. The video was co-directed by Father John Misty band member Chris Dixie Darley and filmmaker Aaron Caleb Eisenberg.
PASTE included the song in its “Best New Songs of the Week” column and said, “Feeling a little bit like a FJM-ified marriage between Bob Dylan’s “Subterranean Homesick Blues” and Viagra Boys’ “Punk Rock Loser,” or maybe just like Spoon at their funkiest, “She Cleans Up” is an amalgamation of rock homages and head-banging bass parts…a thoroughly weird and thoroughly enjoyable track that just begs to be blasted while speeding down a highway in some sick-ass shades.” FLOOD offers this, “A blues-leaning, scuzzy rock jam that sounds way more like Jack White than I think I’d ever expect from FJM. I feel like Father John Misty would make fun of me for coming to that conclusion.” Rolling Stone called it “a stomping glam-and-grit rocker driven by a chunky bass line, splashy baselines, and guitar riffs designed to be blown to rattle the casings of your speakers.” UPROXX notes it’s “A swaggering rocker…” concurring with NME, who goes further, “His distorted vocals are backed by an infectious electric guitar part and swaggering upbeat drums…”
Father John Misty’s previously announced headlining tour dates for 2025 in support of Mahashmashana, including his North America run with special guests Destroyer and UK dates with support from Butch Bastard, are on sale now.
Father John Misty’s Mahashmashana will be out Friday, November 22nd, 2024, worldwide from Sub Pop and in the UK and EU from Bella Union.

Mammoth Grinder breathe new life into the project with a revamped lineup, which now includes Sebastian Phillips of Noisem/Exhumed on guitar and Andy Horn of Richmond rippers Loud Night on bass. Ryan Parrish of Iron Reagan is still on drums, while Chris Ulsh has switched from bass back to guitar while of course retaining the vocal position.

Set for release on November 15th on Relapse, Undying Spectral Resonance is five tracks of pure grime and grit, a mix of snarling, punk infused Old School Death Metal. The EP strives to pick up where 2018's Cosmic Crypt left off. “I was trying to draw from the last record because I felt like I found our sound on that one," says Mammoth Grinder's founding member Chris Ulsh (Power Trip, Devil Master, and more.) Ulsh played all the instruments and performed all the vocals on Undying Spectral Resonance, which was recorded at long-time collaborator Arthur Rizk’s new home studio outside of Philadelphia.

"Her synth-pop sound with incredible vocals to match combines to create a cathartic outlet for heartbreak and other messy emotions." –V Magazine
“This impulse to feel is evident in Shoemaker’s lyrics, which are always self-aware, confessional, and utterly unafraid to lean into — even celebrate — the ugly feelings that come with relationships.” –NYLON
October 23, 2024 (Los Angeles, CA) – Today, indie-pop gem Anna Shoemaker releases "Game of Thrones," a poignant track that delves into the emotional rollercoaster of navigating adulthood in your late twenties. With her signature introspective lyricism paired with infectious pop beats, Anna crafts an anthem of self-discovery. The accompanying video visually captures the emotional highs and lows with vibrancy.

Watch “Game Of Thrones” HERE
About the song, Anna says “Game of Thrones is a chronicle of every thought (good and bad) of someone in their late twenties trying to figure out how they can become who they want to be. It’s about doom scrolling, comparison, wanting to keep up with trends, binge-watching tv, accidentally blacking out at the family reunion— all the things that you thought you’d left behind in your early twenties and yet….”
With the track Anna also announces the release of her sophomore album, Someone Should Stop Her, set for February 21, 2025. Following Shoemaker’s 2023 Hey Anna, a breakup, and a cross-country move, Someone Should Stop Her marks the start of a transformative new chapter. Known for her alt-leaning production, intoxicating pop melodies, and unflinching lyricism, Anna’s music vividly captures the turbulence, charm, and self-reflection of young adulthood. This album truly chronicles her journey of personal evolution. This upcoming release embraces a stripped-back production, offering listeners the intimacy of a late-night conversation with a big sister, where vulnerability takes center stage.
Anna is currently supporting Joe P on his headline tour. All remaining dates are listed below and HERE

FROM FORTHCOMING ALBUM HALLUCINATING LOVE OUT 31ST JANUARY VIA NINJA TUNE
NORTH AMERICAN TOUR COMING IN 2025

Maribou State — the duo made up of Chris Davids and Liam Ivory — today share new single “Bloom,” a slice of signature Maribou State featuring their trademark guitar lines, drum flourishes that gently recall old-skool rave, and a vocal refrain from rising Sudanese Dutch singer-songwriter Gaidaa. It’s the second single to be shared from their highly anticipated new album Hallucinating Love, set for release January 31st 2025 on Ninja Tune. Listen to "Bloom" and preorder Hallucinating Love HERE.
“Bloom” arrives shortly after the release of recent single “Otherside” featuring long-time collaborator and vocalist Holly Walker, which received widespread support from the likes of Pitchfork, NME, Clash, The Line of Best Fit and Mixmag. The single is currently playlisted on BBC 6Music as well as receiving supports across BBC Radio 1 and 6 from champions including Jack Saunders, Pete Tong, Mary Anne Hobbs, Lauren Laverne, Danny Howard and Sian Elleri who named it R1’s ‘Chillest Record’ on release week.
The duo also just announced a massive North American tour for Spring 2025, their first full band live dates on the continent in six years with stops in New York, Boston, Chicago, Toronto and many more. The band have also announced an impressive third consecutive show at London’s 10k+ capacity Alexandra Palace on Sunday 16th February 2025. The shows will mark a triumphant and poignant moment for the duo, following the news shared earlier this year by Chris Davids that he had undergone a major operation for a rare brain condition, from which he has only just begun to return to the studio and rehearsals full time.

Craven Faults - Bounds - released this Friday (25 October)

Bounds, out this Friday, follows Craven Faults’ second full-length album Standers. Following loosely in the footsteps of 2020’s Enclosures release, here’s another 37-minute journey through Northern England via a lifetime obsessing at the fringes of popular culture. New details and perspectives. Dusk gathering.
Bounds will premiere on YouTube, Thursday 24.10.24 at 8pm BST.

It's not just dusk that's gathering anymore either. The first reviews are trickling in, including great ones from Uncut and Mojo (see below) with Electronic Sound and more forthcoming.
"The overlapping arpeggios, sly rhythmic shifts and evolving melodic builds of 18-minute centrepiece Waste & Demense refine his gift for evoking natural warmth from banks of impassive analogue tech" 4/5, Mojo
"Craven Faults' third long-player has a durational exploratory quality that recalls past mensch of analogue synth music, the likes of Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze." 7/10, Uncut (also featured on cover mount CD)
