Morgan Delt’s international tour schedule for 2016 in support ofPhase Zero resumes August 4th in Luxembourg-Bonnevoie at Rotondesbeen and has now been extended through September 24th, with a show at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn.  Delt and his band will tour both Europe (August 4th-20th) and North America (September 14th-24th) during this time. Please find a current schedule below.

Phase Zero is available to preorder now [link here]. LP pre-orders through Sub Pop Mega Mart and at independent retailers near you will receive the limited Loser Edition on red vinyl (while supplies last).

Phase Zero, which includes the singles “I Don’t Wanna See What’s Happening Outside,”  the aforementioned “The System of 1000 Lies,” and “Some Sunsick Day,” was performed entirely by Delt and recorded in his Topanga Canyon studio, with mastering by JJ Golden at Golden Mastering.
More on Morgan Delt from Brian Turner of WFMU:
The invocation of classic west coast psychedelia that permeates Phase Zero, Morgan Delt's Sub Pop debut LP, feels like a continuous sunrise, never concealing its influences yet perfectly putting its songs through a gauzy lens that blurs and obscures. Is such a thing even possible after witnessing umpteen reverb-jockeys creating their own take on the genre? Can anything truly different be done in the realm of being both original and reverent, wearing favorite records and artists' moves on one's sleeve? Definitely the case with our man here. After releasing a 6-song cassette in 2013 followed by a full length for the Trouble In Mind label, the California native now fine-tunes his sound world outwardly rather than honing in on a specific trajectory, allowing all of said influences to coexist together in a unique yet undoubtedly Californian vision.

The resulting 10-song collection, performed entirely by Delt, recorded in his Topanga Canyon studio and then mastered by JJ Golden, is a home-fi construction with a more subtle, brainticklingcharacter than its predecessor, and somewhat reflects a realist take on the flower power fantasy of 1967. Doused in echo and haze, slow chords lap in like Pacific waves, flanked by gentle whispers of multi-tracked, cooing vox, phased guitars and fuzz that calmly surrounds the listener's head less than it jabs at the cortex. Opener “I Don't Wanna See What's Happening Outside” is almost the sharpest-sounding number on the record with jittery, choogling guitar that makes its dry solo run upfront, appearing mid-song out of a fog. The sense of home experimentation amidst the lo-fidelity and oozy layers of vocals almost brings to mind Christine McVie's lush pacification of Lindsey Buckingham's deliberate New Wave pot-stirring on Tusk, but unlike that record, Delt's futurism fog can't help but nod to Sunset acid of days of yore. One doesn't need to listen close to extract healthy doses of Notorious Byrd Brothers, Curt Boettcher, Terry Riley, and Buffalo Springfield in the stew with a solid line of fluttery electronics that fizzle in and out of the floaty arrangements. “Sun Powers” hits the deck like a lift-off from a ‘70s UK sci-fi TV show, sunny tremolo zipping in circles around warm Zombies-like vocals coming out of some kinda cave, lovely melodies and words overriding any turbulence or background FX.

The great thing about Delt's approach to such history is (and sorry to sound harsh) that unlike too many of his so-called L.A. psych-rock peers, there's no costume involved, no application of a conjured identity to match a specific image. He's no psychedelic Civil War re-enactor, so to speak. It's subtle and tactful revisionism without using psychedelia as a crutch/easy marketing tool and letting the sounds come out and make their own case. So many ideas and levels of activity move around the ascents and descents of songs like “Age of the Birdman” (an ode to the survivors of Easter Island's environmental collapse) and the flowing “Another Person” that you're just asked to lay down and let it all cover you over rather than contemplate much else. Yet there's a certain acknowledgement that the beauty must be preserved by proactive consciousness/action in the world.

It takes a creative mind to hone in on a song like “Escape Capsule” without wearing outwell-trodden use of tablas and electric drones. More often than not it all traditionally can fall into Beatles or Spacemen 3 terrain, but on this song Delt can transport what would normally be a dark-n-druggy blanket into a much more optimistic and friendly listening experience. Despite his voice being channelled through hallucinatory effects, it's warm and inviting, projecting a sense of hope (particularly in “Some Sunsick Day,” which evokes the hopeful “We'll Meet Again” as the world explodes at the end of Dr. Strangelove, later covered by the Byrds). It's more or less just an invite to watch the sun rise, too.

What people have said about Morgan Delt:
"I Don't Want To See What's Happening Outside" sounds like the kind of music you'd listen to on a perfect sunny day. But Morgan Delt not only doesn't want to go outside, he can't even bear to look out his window.” [“I Don’t Wanna See…”] -  NPR Music

“His new song “I Don’t Wanna See What’s Happening Outside” is a piece of crystal-clear underwater pop music, and it sounds a bit like recent-vintage Tame Impala might sound if they drifted much further out into space.” -  Stereogum

“Blissful, gorgeous...” [“I Don’t Wanna See…”] -  Brooklyn Vegan

“Listen to the taped-together percussion on opener “Make My Grey Brain Green”, which rides a scratchy bass line and flowers into something like the moment when Dorothy’s black-and-white world goes RGB. There’s the Morricone-meets-Jodorowsky acid drone of “Barbarian Kings”, the cyclical wobble of “Little Zombies”, the way “Chakra Sharks” rattles and crashes through a hornet’s nest of guitars into a wailing refrain of “Bye bye, farewell.” Throughout the album there’s a heightened, eerie quality to his vocals; the feeling is something like an asylum patient waving to a car as it recedes over the horizon.” [Morgan Delt]-  Pitchfork

“This debut album proper, an 11-track collection on the Chicago imprint Trouble In Mind, takes something from the Ariel Pink school of outré production, although Delt is quite obviously on his own trip, and you could just as easily work him into a lineage that stretches from The Red Krayola and West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band through to psych-influenced beatmakers such as Edan,Gonjasufi and The Gaslamp Killer.” [Morgan Delt] -   FACT Magazine

“He allows his guitar and vocals to meld into a single, constantly mutating surface that coats Morgan Delt like neon jelly in a vacuum, continuously rippling and hovering in all directions. The overall effect suggests the sound of a crafty intellect worming its way through the pleasantly foggy maze ofan Rx-abuse cloud.” [Morgan Delt] -  Impose

“A lot of people have done the same kind of excavation and restoration work he has, but few have done it asmemorably. Almost no one has done it with songs as good as these.” [Morgan Delt] -  All Music Guide

Honeyblood Announce New Album 'Babes Never Die' out 10/28 on FatCat Records, Release New Track

HONEYBLOOD ANNOUNCE BABES NEVER DIEOUT ON FATCAT RECORDS OCTOBER 28TH, 2016
PREMIERE NEW SINGLE + VIDEO FOR "READY FOR THE MAGIC"

Watch the video for "Ready For The Magic"Listen to "Ready For The Magic" via Spotify
Honeyblood are back in formidable form. Today the Glasgow two-piece - frontwoman Stina Tweeddale and drummer Cat Myers- premiered incendiary new single and video "Ready For Magic", as well as announcing their second album, the emphatically titled Babes Never Die which is out on Fat Cat Records October 28th.
The follow-up to their eponymous debut, Honeyblood arrived in 2014 as a surprise splash, with stellar from New York Times to Pitchfork.'Ready for The Magic' is a remarkable introduction to Honeyblood 2.0. Both one of their most intense and most intensely catchy tracks to date. Its detuned doom riffage and disco-punk rhythms make space for a tornado of a chorus ode to "the explosive nature of infatuation". The video, a collaboration between the band and director Thomas James, is set in post-apocalyptic Scottish countryside, and follows a tribe of young feral girls who've been abandoned and left to fend for themselves in a dystopian world. We won't completely spoil its ending, but safe to say that Stina and Cat meet a grizzly fate.
The leader of the video's feral girl tribe finds herself pride of place as the cover star of the 'Babes Never Die' album, in beautiful photographic artwork shot by German photographer Amira Fritz. "I loved the idea of this feral tribe of young badass girls causing chaos," explains frontwoman Stina Tweeddale. "It's an image that chimes with what the album is all about." Of the album's title she explains: "I guess you could call it a war cry; to have the faith to never let yourself be defeated." Babes Never Die is certainly not a shy motto, and one that's triumphant sentiment rings throughout Honeyblood's exceptional sophomore record. Recorded winter 2016 with acclaimed producer James Dring (Jamie T, Gorillaz) during candle-burning sessions at London's Fish Factory studios, it will be released November 2nd and is available to pre-order now along with the new single. "The title is my own mantra," Stina says. "I think it's something I tell myself every day. Indifference is a plague. Giving up and turning a blind eye will be the end of us. Never before has that been more true."
Babes Never Die is out October 28th on Fat Cat Records.

DFA's Factory Floor Drop Synth-Sculpture "Ya" Vid w/ Pitchfork, Play ICA London, LP out 8/19

FACTORY FLOOR

ANNOUNCE ICA LONDON SHOW
Thu Aug 25th with Haroon Mirza & Klara Lewis

REVEAL  “YA” VIDEO  VIA PITCHFORK
Directed by Factory Floor

WATCH/SHARE: HERE

25 25  Out 8/19 via DFA

“Lean, icy techno”
The Verge
“‘A pulsing, entrancing 7 minutes... it’d be just as good for a meditative, productive night in as it would be on the fun night out on the dance floor”
Stereogum
“Factory Floor know how to get crowds dancing… “Ya” is no exception”
Nerdist
“Propulsive and potent...Hypnotic”
Consequence of Sound

To celebrate the forthcoming release of 25 25, their sophomore LP out August 19th on DFA Records,  FACTORY FLOOR release a captivating new video for their latest single“Ya” via Pitchfork and announce and ICA (Institute of Contemporary Arts) London Show Thursday August 25th.

Directed by Factory Floor and featuring sculptures by the duo’s Nik Void, the vibrant, hypnotic video for “Ya” reflects the group’s penchant for experimental modernism and dynamic minimalism:

“I was looking at the German New York artist  Isa Genzken ,”  explains Void, “and thought I need to make a plaster synth! I like the idea of someone playing it under my instruction off camera then the synth take on a life of its own - like the true nature of modular synthesis”

In 2012 FACTORY FLOOR commenced a year-long residency as ICA Associates which manifested as a series of live collaborations that featured New York composer Peter Gordon, visual artist Hannah Sawtell and British soundtrack producer Simon Fisher Turner. The events sought to challenge the boundaries between collaboration and live improvisation.

Now the duo of Nik Void and Gabriel Gurnsey return to London’s ICA Theater Thursday August 25th to premiere material from their latest hi-energy minimalist dance exploration live. The event will also include special live performances from British visual artist Haroon Mirza, who is internationally acclaimed for his installations that examine the interplay between light and sound. He will be followed by Swedish artist Klara Lewis, who is recognized for her disorientating arrangements of field recordings combined with textured rhythms.

25 25 is the follow up to Factory Floor’s critically acclaimed 2013 self-titled debut.  Stripped to a mesmerizing dance of percussion, fragmented voice, and melody, the album captures the next stage of evolution for one of the UK’s most restless and exploratory groups. “Ya” is the latest single to be taken from Factory Floor’s second studio album, 25 25, out August 19th via DFA Records. A mischief-inducing dancefloor gem, the new single comes on the heels of “Dial Me In” which the band shared last month.

25 25  is out August 19th via DFA and can be  pre-ordered here .

Sacred Bones to release "Almost Holy" Soundtrack by Atticus Ross, Bobby Krlic, & Leopold Ross

SACRED BONES PRESENTS
ALMOST HOLY: ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK
BY ATTICUS ROSS, LEOPOLD ROSS, & BOBBY KRLIC
OUT AUGUST 19 ON LP & DIGITAL FORMATS
WATCH A VIDEO VIA  PITCHFORK                                                                                                                                                         still from Almost Holy
After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Ukraine's social and political institutions faced massive change, including an increasingly corrupt government and crippled infrastructure. A number of the nation's youth wound up homeless and addicted to a lethal cocktail of injected cold medicine and alcohol. Steve Hoover’s documentary Almost Holy follows a pastor named Gennadiy Mokhnenko, who saves street kids, at times by forcible abduction, and brings them to his Pilgrim Republic rehabilitation center—the largest organization of its kind in the former Soviet Union. The film’s depiction of a country in the grip of poverty, addiction, and warfare is made even more powerful by its captivating electronic score by award-winning composer Atticus Ross, his brother Leopold Ross, and Bobby Krlic (The Haxan Cloak).

“Occasionally a project comes along where one feels compelled to contribute,” Atticus said of seeing the early footage that convinced him to work on the film. “It's a different world over there – of course we have dire poverty in the U.S. – but to see an army of drug-addicted children living in those conditions, children the same age as my own, under ten years old but covered in track marks and sleeping on sewers to stay warm, and someone is asking you to write a little music to help the cause. It would be hard to find a reason not to.”

His collaborators felt the same way, and the trio soon began work on the score — the Ross brothers in the U.S. and Krlic in England. The distance meant the composers initially worked separately, but in the end, the soundtrack feels remarkably coherent. “The music surfs the line of sound design and operates as a support to the overall arc, rather than specifically tied to the characters,” Atticus explains. “Gennadiy doesn't have a theme, and I'm not sure he needs one, or how he could be reduced to one. He's powerful but tender, loving but aggressive, committed but flawed. We felt it was important that the music never dilute or distract from his message. Less is more, so to speak.” However, the message and content of film kept the trio inspired, and once Krlic had emigrated to the U.S., they met at Atticus' studio and continued to work on the album as a free-standing piece.

The film remained the anchor and the catalyst for their creativity, but several of the tracks on the record don’t appear in the picture at all.  Almost Holy  is thus not simply a soundtrack album, but a soundtrack and an album, one that both enriches its film and stands apart from it.

Director Steve Hoover had this to say about the score:

"Gennadiy’s story was somehow destined to be worked into some form of cinema. It’s all set in Mariupol, Ukraine, a city with sprawling factories and crumbling Soviet architecture. It sounds bleak, but it’s somehow beautiful and not without hope. I wanted an original score that could translate the feeling of being in Mariupol with Gennadiy, at this time. Atticus Ross took interest in the film and proposed a collaboration with Leopold Ross and Bobby Krlic. I knew they would eclipse whatever it was that I was imagining for the score.

There’s a scene in the film, where the people of Mariupol are enjoying fireworks that seem to be a premonition for the shells that would soon cluster the same skies. The score takes a haunting bend that feels like a metaphysical wailing from unknown places, for a people that have had the lion's share of struggle, but would soon be torn in half. The score is ingrained in the narrative because it developed along with it. They were a part of the film before we began production, offering invaluable creative insight. They were just as essential as my crew."

Teeth & Tongue share new video "Dianne" - album on Dot Dash / Captured Tracks coming September

Teeth & Tongue Unveil New Video "Dianne" via Rookie
Give Up On Your Health  on Dot Dash / Captured Tracks Out September 2016

WATCH / SHARE: "DIANNE" VIA YOUTUBE HERE
Teeth & Tongue - the musical project of New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based Jess Cornelius - has unveiled her new video "Dianne" over at  Rookie Mag   who've also dived into the concepts and creation of her new album  Give Up On Your Health.
Jess returns with her boldest album to date. On the heels of a breakup, Cornelius retired to remote Iceland on a three-month Nes Artist Residency, where she wrote a lot of material like the heartbreaking 'Small Towns'. But after returning to Melbourne, where Cornelius brought the material to the band: guitarist Marc Regueiro-McKelvie, bassist Damian Sullivan and drummer James Harvey; things took a turn. Unlike 2014's more ambient Grids, in which the vocals were textured and layered, here they're dominant over a grid of '70s electronica.
Cornelius has crafted kitchen-sink dramas and relationship vignettes that follow a lineage from Ken Loach through Jarvis Cocker. Even in her darkest hour, Jess can't help but rule with a pop aesthetic.
After storming Australia with her previous album, touring with Courtney Barnett on her 2016 album tour and garnering critical acclaim from the likes of Triple R, Rolling Stone, The Guardian, etc., Teeth & Tongue return with Give Up On Your Health.  The album was co-produced by Haima Marriott (Architecture in Helsinki, Banoffee), whose knowledge of vintage synths came in handy when referencing Daft Punk and Giorgio Moroder. It sees its U.S. release this September on Dot Dash / Captured Tracks.

Andrew W.K. Announces 'The Power of Partying' 50 State Speaking Tour

ANDREW W.K. ANNOUNCES
THE POWER OF PARTYING
50 STATE SPEAKING TOUR
THE PARTY PARTY PRESENTS A NATIONWIDE RALLY FOR THE HUMAN SPIRIT
New York, NY (July 13, 2016) –  Andrew W.K.  is pleased to announce  The Power of Partying , his first nationwide speaking tour, spanning the entire country with stops in all 50 U.S. states. Presented by The Party Party, each evening will be an intimate celebration of discussion, a pep rally for the inner spirit, and an optimistic look at the overwhelming intensity of life. The tour sees Andrew continuing his eternal mission to defend and promote human joy, and the never-ending collective search to find truth through partying. Tickets for all dates go on sale this Friday, July 15, 2016 at 12PM Eastern at AndrewWK.com.

This year celebrates Andrew W.K.’s tenth year as a party guru and motivational speaker, a journey that began with his now infamous four-hour lecture to a sold out NYU Skirball Center in 2006. On this new tour, each engagement will feature Andrew's speech on living the party life and also include an open question and answer session, as well as a chance to meet Andrew W.K. in person.
"This is not a political party rally, it's a rally about partying with the political elements set aside," insists Andrew. “This is my attempt to add something positive and unifying to the divisive atmosphere surrounding us in so many different forms. Without targeting or preaching to any one side, I want to see if we can party together in our common humanity. We will have a party about being people.”

"By its very nature, the inner experience of a human being can be a vortex of confusion and clarity. The current climate in America isn't always aiding us in how to best grapple with the fundamental complexities of being who we are - being at our best. During this 50 state odyssey, we aren't looking for a specific stance on any particular political issue. Instead, we're looking to fortify the foundation of our spirit, so that we can each follow our individual destiny and pursue our own personal exploration of life as best we can. We are uniting around what we have in common - our shared humanity. This tour is a coming together for the sake of partying together. Even if we have different ideas from one another, or don't know all the answers to all the questions, we can still party together. This is a celebration of positive partying - this is a party about partying."

In addition to The Power of Partying speaking tour, Andrew W.K. will also be performing select shows with his full band.  All tour dates can be found on Andrew's website.
