19 yr old lo-fi rocker Pip Blom shares new single "Hours"
PIP BLOM SHARES HER NEW SINGLE "HOURS"

STREAM // EMBED "HOURS" HERE
"Only 19 years old and sounds like a stripped back Courtney Barnett..." - BBC Radio 1
"Scratchy and self-recorded, it's an insight into a psyche that's constantly searching for something more. Bound by her lo-fi restrictions, the Amsterdam native nevertheless manages to pluck slicker-than-your-average melodies out of her world of haze and fuzz, pitching them front and centre." - DIY Mag
"The notions of the ticking clock are translated to infectious chords & drum loops that make for hypnotic trip where everything you have thought about the mystery of minutes, seconds, and more is displayed in dadaist like audio that almost accidentally becomes one of the danciest singles you have heard all week." - Impose Magazine
19 year old Netherlands lo-fi rocker Pip Blom has released her new single "Hours" worldwide. The BBC Radio 1 approved track is a groovy, danceable slice of indie rock which brings to mind Courtney Barnett, Speedy Ortiz and even The Breeders.
As catchy as the music is, what really stands out are the incredibly mature and introspective lyrics which perfectly encapsulate the fear of losing the ones we love to time. As Pip Blom explains to Impose Magazine, "'Hours' is not really about the fact that I'm getting older. That doesn't bother me yet, but it's more about how every hour I get older it means people I love get older too. My parents, but especially my grandparents. "Hours" is essentially a song about loss. When time ticks away people grow old. And you know the moment you will lose them comes closer. You can't do anything about it, but you know it will come."
The track is available now backed with her other single "Truth", which also has gotten some great support from KCRW, on an exclusive 7" in the UK via Grunt Grunt A Go Go.

Todd Rundgren @ Pershing Square

August 20CONCERTS START AT 8PM
Todd Rundgren

A Wizard, A True Star. The title of Todd Rundgren's 1973 solo album aptly sums up the contributions of this multi-faceted artist to state-of-the-art music. As a songwriter, video pioneer, producer, recording artist, computer software developer, conceptualist, and interactive artist (re-designated TR-i), Rundgren has made a lasting impact on both the form and content of popular music.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Rundgren began playing guitar as a teenager, going on to found and front The Nazz, the quintessential `60's cult group. In 1969, he left the band to pursue a solo career, recording his debut offering, the legendary Runt. But it was 1972's seminal Something/Anything?, on which he played all the instruments, sang all the vocal parts, and acted as his own producer, that catapulted Todd into the superstar limelight, prompting the press to unanimously dub him 'Rock's New Wunderkind'. It was followed by such landmark LPs as The Hermit of Mink Hollow and the above mentioned A Wizard, A True Star, as well as such hit singles as I Saw The Light, Hello It's Me, Can We Still Be Friends, and Bang The Drum.
In 1974, Todd formed Utopia, an entirely new approach to the concept of interactive musicianship, and embarked on an extensive round of touring and recording. Standout Utopia offerings included Oops! Wrong Planet, Adventures in Utopia, and Oblivion. Along the way, Utopia combined technical virtuosity and creative passion to create music that, for millions, defined the term "progressive rock."
Rundgren's myriad production projects include albums by Patti Smith, Cheap Trick, Psychedelic Furs, Meatloaf, XTC, Grand Funk Railroad, and Hall And Oates. Rounding out his reputation as rock's Renaissance Man, Rundgren composed all the music and lyrics for Joe Papp's 1989 Off-Broadway production of Joe Orton's Up Against It (the screenplay commisioned by The Beatles for what was meant to have been their third motion picture). He also has composed the music for a number of television series, including Pee Wee’s Playhouse and Crime Story.
In 2012 Rundgren performed his iconic 1973 album A Wizard A True Star in concert in its entireity for the first time ever, and last year did the same with a double bill: Todd & Healing. His latest studio album, GLOBAL, was released in April 2015; he continues to tour with Ringo Starr as an erstwhile member of the All-Starr Band, and to perform with symphony orchestras both domestically and internationally.
In 1998 Todd debuted his new PatroNet technology which for the first time allowed fans of a musical artist to subscribe directly to the artist’s musical output via the Internet. This caps a long history of groundbreaking early multimedia "firsts", including:
• 1978: The first interactive television concert, broadcast live over the Warner/QUBE system in Columbus, Ohio (the home audience chose each song.in real time during the concert by voting via QUBE’s 2-way operating system).
• 1978: The first live nationally broadcast stereo radio concert (by microwave), linking 40 cities around the country.
• 1979: The opening of Utopia Video Studios, a multi-million dollar state-of-the-art facility. The first project produced by Todd there is Gustav Holst’s The Planets, commissioned by RCA SelectaVision as the first demonstration software for their new videodisc format.
• 1980: Creation of the first color graphics tablet, which was licensed to Apple and released as The Utopia Graphics Tablet.
• 1981: Time Heals, the first music video to utilize state-of-the-art compositing of live action and computer graphics (produced and directed by Todd), becomes the second video to be played on MTV (after Video Killed the Radio Star).
• 1982: The first live national cablecast of a rock concert (on the USA Network), simulcast in stereo to over 120 radio stations.
• 1982: The first two commercially released music videos, one of which was nominated for the first-ever Grammy awarded for “Best Short Form Video” in 1983.
• 1992: The release of “No World Order”, the world’s first interactive record album on CD-i. Also the first commercially available music downloads via CompuServe.
• 1994: The release of “The Individualist”, the world’s first full-length Enhanced CD.
• 1995: The world’s first interactive concert tour.
• 1998: Launches PatroNet, the world’s first direct artist subscription service

For Orange County residents, that also means the arrival of the annual OC Fair and the accompanying concert series at Pacific Amphitheatre, which is located on the fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. This year, things kick off a bit early at the outdoor venue as promoters announced a few pre-OC Fair gigs including back-to-back headlining shows with Santa Barbara-based reggae rock band Iration July 9-10, Australian electronic duo, Empire of the Sun, on July 13 and classic rock band Three Dog Night will be joined by Orange County’s own Pacific Symphony for a special evening of music on July 14.The OC Fair and Pacific Amphitheatre series officially begins July 15 and runs Wednesdays-Sundays through Aug. 14. NEW MUSIC COMING SOONTOUR DATES ANNOUNCED
Monday, July 11th - Yellow Year Records, the label launched in 2013 by photographer Angel Ceballos, today announces the signing of four talented new artists including Austin's macabre-pop band Tele Novella, Buffalo's indie rock trio The Tins, Albion, WA band Joseph Hein and San Diego based / Charlotte Muhl Kemp-produced The Lucy Ring.

Tele Novella has also announced a run of US summer tour dates today. The tour will see them playing cities across the US including San Francisco, Portland, LA, their native Austin and more. See below for a full rundown of dates and watch this space for new music and a special announcement coming very soon
More About Tele Novella:Tele Novella is an inspired macabre-pop band out of Austin, TX. They are dreamy, they are spooky, and they write real fucking songs. While one may detect the influence of the nocturnal jungles of Os Mutantes or the lapelled, knee-socked smarts of Belle and Sebastian, they have cobbled together a special kind of mineral all their own worth making room on the Table of Elements for. Earnest, yet sinister; Vampy, but sentimental. The precise recipe that goes into this concoction cannot be revealed, but it is a delightful snow globe of warm, colorful darkness.
In 2014, they won a contest for free recording time at Dub Narcotic Studios in Olympia, WA. This resulted in their first single, "Trouble in Paradise," that was later featured in the ABC television series Pretty Little Liars. Not long after that in 2015, their EP Cosmic Dial Tone was released on Los Angeles label Lolipop Records on the heels of a Wes Anderson tribute compilation (American Laundromat Records), to which they contributed a contagiously glad version of "Stephanie Says" by The Velvet Underground.

More About Joseph Hein:Joseph Hein hails from the Palouse in eastern Washington State. With lush arrangements and warm distortion, he creates dreamy harmonious sounds with an energetic uptempo rhythm influenced by songs of yesteryear's AM country and R&B gold. He is often accompanied by an array of instruments including a trombone, a violin, keyboards and guitars that add to the band's distinct style. Joseph Hein sings honestly about good times and the bad and the music bears witness to the road unkempt and a winding trail. Joseph grew up making music in the rural eastern WA region known as the Palouse. With that small town isolation the multi instrumentalist Joseph Hein gleaned from a range of influences and played with a tight knit group of kids in all sorts of bands that ranged from punk to electronic pop. The path continued into the DIY scene of Olympia, WA where that intensely creative place inspired further collaborations that continue today. He has released two official albums as a solo artist and is in the process of finishing his third. His most recently released album, "Following Fog", holds the energy and sounds of the places it was recorded: from a barn to a church, a garage, cabin, closet, and the span of eastern to western Washington state. It is truly inspired by the places it all took place, and marks a period of time. Between touring, recording and collaborating with others he hides out in the hills and plays his new bass....-

More About The Tins:With influences ranging from Talking Heads to Tame Impala, The Tins craft masterfully layered jams that USA Today calls "brilliant pop exuberance." Hailing from Buffalo NY, the trio has released a number of critically acclaimed records. The Tins' first single, "The Green Room," was chosen by Sean Parker , Spotify creator, as a staple of his Hipster International Playlist, and tapped as Spotify Staff Picks #2 Song of the Year. Since that point the Tins have worked with producers Joe Blaney (Modest Mouse, Prince, The Clash) and Ted Young (Kurt Vile, The Gaslight Anthem) and have garnered millions of plays online. The Tins are currently in rotation on SiriusXM Radio and have been licensed to several hit TV shows including Beverly Hills 90210 and Roadtrip Nation.

More About The Lucy Ring:The Lucy Ring is a four piece band currently out of Southern California after transplanting from Brooklyn. Their first album was recorded at Sean Lennon and Yoko Ono's private studio in Upstate, NY and was produced by Sean's girlfriend and partner in The Goastt, Charlotte Kemp Muhl. Lucy Ring co-founder David Hyman had worked as a personal assistant for Sean, and Charlotte invited the band up to track to tape upon hearing some demos she liked.

Folds kicks off the 33-date tour with a home state play in Raleigh, NC on September 13. Full tour details below. A limited number of VIP packages will be available starting with the Ben Folds Presale on Wednesday, July 13 at 10am local venue time. Tickets and remaining VIP packages will be available to the general public starting at 10am local venue time on Friday, July 15. Visit www.benfolds.com for more info. The album has been praised for its forward-thinking studio craft and creative spontaneity. Ben Folds first found fame with the Ben Folds Five and has proceeded to have a very successful solo career, which includes writing and performing pop hits, recording multiple studio and live albums, collaborating with other renowned artists, and writing and recording for film and TV. Ed Harcourt releases "Furnaces" - Title track from Flood produced album

THE TITLE TRACK FROM THE NEW ALBUM FURNACESOUT AUGUST, 19TH ON POLYDOR (PRE-ORDER)
Having already made available the gnarled track “Dionysus” (which was premiered on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show) and the apocalyptic paean “The World is on Fire”, Ed Harcourt announces the next single to be taken from his forthcoming album, the title track “Furnaces” which is available now.
Stream “Furnaces” via YouTube / Spotify / iTunes
Working closely with legendary producer Flood, (Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, PJ Harvey and Foals), Ed Harcourt’s seventh album studio album ‘Furnaces’ (out August 19th, 2016) is the most ambitious and abrasive album of his career.
Ed says of the title track, “I wanted this song to sound like a loping, clanking fire-breathing giant made out of machinery eating up the earth and spewing vast projectiles of junk out, leaving chaos and emptiness in its wake… I hasten to add that hope is never far away - but it is a distant lantern swaying precariously in the darkness.”

After four blistering shows in two weeks at Glastonbury, headline shows at The Deaf Institute and the Borderline and a headline slot on the 2nd stage in Hyde Park supporting Carole King, Ed has announced a further headline show at the Village Underground in London on September 21st.
Ed Harcourt has enjoyed a truly unique career as a songwriter, producer and musician. Released six critically acclaimed albums to date, he also wrote and performed “The Way That I Live”, the soundtrack to Burberry’s 2014/15 festive campaign, which has garnered over 25 million views and 1 million streams.

Bait Is for Sissies ft. Members of Sonic Youth,

"The scuzzy distortion on the guitars, the rolling drums, and Kino Kimono's sharply angled vocals all smack of jittery dissatisfaction and 90s musical tropes." - VICE’s Noisey
“[Caste Out] is blistering fun with loosely strummed guitar lines, quick rolling drum transitions and that melts into a slow churning, menacing trip, and ends on a bright guitar line. The switches happen at inopportune moments and keep the ear guessing through delightful abruptness.” - Stereogum
Receiving accolades from Pitchfork, FADER, Noisey, SPIN, Impose and more, the debut Kino Kimino album Bait Is for Sissies was released June 3 onWavves’ label Ghost Ramp. Fresh from a smashing international tour, Stereogum has unveiled the video for breakout album single “Passion”today. Showing the more clandestine moments of seemingly mundane life, the video is presented through a John Waters-esque filter. Watch the “Passion” video HERE . We encourage you to post and share!
Kino Kimino is the brainchild of Kim Talon who plugged in with Lee Ranaldoand Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth. The ten sweetly serrated, sometimes volatile, post-punk songs on debut album Bait Is for Sissies was produced by John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Dinosaur Jr., Hop Along) and recorded at Sonic Youth’s Echo Canyon West studio. The songs explore betrayal, violence and the feeling of being an outsider, a dramatized response to the end of a romantic relationship that was founded on deceit.
